Alex didn't give the boy any attention other than a short glare. She wasn't in the mood to be hit on right now. She pushed her gun back into the holster that she had strapped around her left thigh, and walked over to the young girl, Arielle.
"You okay, kid?" she asked, looking at Arielle, searching for injuries.
Arielle let out a startled nod, and said, "I have a few scratches, but the zombie didn't bite me. I'm fine." She dusted herself off, and looked down at her puppy, who was just as shaken up as she was.
Hunter walked up to the girl and said, "Alex. Long time no see. Last time I saw you, you almost blew my head off with that gun of yours."
"Oh, shut up, Hunter. I was shaken up, and you were trespassing in my territory. I got pissed off, and shot at you. However, I missed. I've gotten much better at accuracy, though. In other words, you need to watch your back." Alex's words were fierce, and held a tone that you wouldn't expect to hear in a girl as pretty as she was.
No sooner had Alex finished the sentence than when two other people came to join them. One was a boy, and the other was a girl. They were both dark complected, greatly contrasting with her pale skin.
Arielle looked to the girl, who had spoken first; Ellowyn. "Yeah. We're fine. Alex killed the zombie."
