Kiba looked as the speakers began to play the national anthem of the Energy boundaries. At least now people were waking up. "Good morning everyone! Today is the day we send two patrons from our wonderful boundaries, male and female, to go fight for our freedom! How does this work? Well, two children from each element to go and either fight the other elements or create a new peace treaty! Everyone ready?" Everyone but and many other possible patrons cheered. "Good! Now, for the female patron..." Kiba opened her mazing blue eyes,. "Kiba!" Energy was flowing from her. But why her? "And for the male patron... Vince !" Kiba was now confused.Now she did not know. She stepped up to the speakers.

Towards the back of the crowd, Simba was slumped against a tree, paying to anything but the Ceremony. If it wasn't required, he wouldn't even be here. The whole thing was overdone and stupid, so he just blocked it out, allowing his mind to wander. So when his name was called, his head snapped up and alarm flickered through his brown eyes. Simba? Had the announcer really just said Simba? Heads were starting to turn in his direction, so he knew he hadn't heard wrong.
Suddenly feeling a bit shy, he picked his way through the crowd to take his place on stage, wishing to be anywhere else in the world. He didn't want to do this. This was ridiculous! He glanced at the girl who's name he didn't catch. He didn't even know her, but he and some random girl were supposed to represent their nation? Had the whole world gone mad?!

Rio had never been one for crowds. He was different and he knew it, so when it came to these silly gatherings, he was hardly one to want to take part. He sat with his legs crossed on a bench where no one had decided to sit, listening to the Announcer and the usual shpeel. A boy and a girl would be selected to represent their nation either by killing everyone else or making peace with them. Growing up on the streets, Rio hadn't really learned anything about national pride, so he didn't see the point in making such a big deal about it. In fact it was an odd tradition to him.
"And without further adieu," the Announcer called out, catching Rio's attention. "I give you the two youths that will represent us. For the girl... Spirit Marie Fawn! And for the boy... Rio!"
Rio felt his stomach go cold. For a moment he was in shock before he let out a dark chuckle, crossing his arms. Of course they'd send the street rat out. No family to mourn his death - although one would be a fool to think he'd actually die - and no reason to care about his fate.
"Just perfect," he said in a slight growl.

A cuss word escaped Spirits mouth and she laughed slightly. She walked up too the rather large plat form and rolled her eyes "Wheres the dude at.." she muttered too herself. She was going to be rather rude, she didn't feel like fighting for any reason unless he would her her or somone eles hurt her. Wow, this whole thing was stupid too her, but she enjoyed waching, and making fun of the others. This time, she'd be the one geting made fun of. Gahh was that hard for her.
