By the time Joey was finished telling the... Interesting stories of her past boyfriends, my jaw fell to the floor in shock. Though, immediately after she changed the subject, I tried acting nonchalant. It felt good talking to someone that also killed - even if she killed Henry because he abused her. It still felt like I was talking to someone who got me.
Though I couldn't help the sheepish ex
pression on my face as she asked about my past girl friends. "To be completely honest, I haven't dated much at all. Once or twice when I was just in high school. And only one serious relationship after that. She..." I swallowed. Would it be safe to talk about Catherine? The last thing I needed was to feel that urge to kill this feisty one again. It wouldn't go down so clean cut and brief. Especially since I was starting to grow fond of speaking with her.
"I loved her."
Just looking at Joey now, I could see the resemblance of their eyes. Those beautiful eyes... I cleared my throat and took a bite of food to keep the thoughts as appropriate as possible. I already promise myself I wouldn't hurt this one. I liked her. The only woman I truly liked really.

"Aww, love must be nice." Joaquin smiled shaking her head. She'd never expirence love before, not love like Nick probably felt. Normally all her relationships weren't exactly based on personality and what touchy feely heartwarming stuff other relationships were made up on.
"She must have broke you little heart." Joey sighed, feeling kind of bad for the guy. "It's alright though, think of it this way. It's her loss, she ould have had a good man and now she doesn't."
"Anyways, what was so special about this one girl. Was she pretty?" she asked, slightly raising an eyebrow. She was honestly wondering what type of girls he was into. If he was into the whole girl next door thing, that might possibly explain why he was sitting in a restaurant with her. The bad girl that mothers told their sons to stay away from. The one that would break theirs hearts and leave them out to dry.
"Was she the girl next door type? Sweet? Good family?"

"She was enticingly sweet and beautiful enough to break a heart with a bat of her eyes. She understood me the way no one else could."
I smiled, remembering the loving look on her face right before she found out how I was at times. I wasn't always having episodes. Before she left me, I was just like any other normal guy, but had a head - twitch once in a while and some ear ringing symptoms. But, I wasn't a killer. I was way a better guy back then, then I am now. Why did she leave me? Why couldn't I have explained that I wasn't truly 'psychotic' before she left?
"Well, at least I thought she understood me. She left me after she overheard what the doctor said..."
A blush came over my face over embarrassment. Now I felt even more vulnerable. Talking about Catherine was stepping over enormous boundaries. But it just felt so good to let it out...
"To put it in simple terms, we were engaged for three months, and she gave me the ring back when she found out that the doctor diagnosed me with some disorder. Which includes those episodes you witnessed."
I frowned at the curse I just happened to be captured in . Why was it me? If I was normal like any other guy, Catherine could be my wife by now.
"So, no. Love isn't nice. It's just as much of a curse as my disorder is, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy."
I hissed the words out; reminded why I kill the girls that look like Catherine in the first place. They all don't deserve love. They deserve anything but that.

Joaquin leaned back into her seat. Wow, he really loved her, from the words he was using...wow. She felt bad for him, she must have really hurt him, bad. He really did not like love, she ruined it for him.
"Wow, Nick. She really hurt you..." she said, her voice soft. She took a sip of her water as she tried to think of something to say. "Well Nick, you shouldn't let her ruin love for you. I mean when you were with her, didn't it feel like the most amazing thing?" she asked genuinly curious. "I've always wondered. I hear things from friends, and i see it on TV and in books and stuff. Never really felt it."
She sighed, the only love she felt was for Noble, but she wasn't sure if that was even love. He didn't want her love anyways. No doubt he believed the lies Marcus fed him, why wouldn't he believe his father? She wasn't even his real sister, just some leech that latched onto his family and left as soon as she turned eighteen.
"Anyways, I'm sure you'll find someone else. You're still young, you have yourself a nice suit. I'm sure someone will come along and understand you better than your ex-fiance did. And it will be like magical like...I dunno. Ponies farting cupcakes. Speaking off which I could go for dessert." Joaquin said turning her head to look for a waiter. SHe really didn't know any comforting words for him.

You'd think I'd enjoy those... 'comforting' words, but I found them pitifully exhausting my emotions. "...Right, Joey." I said with a breath, slightly disappointed that the relief I was waiting to feel never came. To the way she explained love, I couldn't help but stop the conversation there. "Love isn't a feeling. The butterflies and all that is of course a strong infatuation. But love is that choice to give a part of yourself to that person. To... Well... Truly love them forever. Not just until they get annoying. The marriages that become separated, probably never truly loved in the first place. Or the true love there deteriorated."
Stopping the rant that I went on, I looked at the desert menu. Feeling uncomfortable and changing the subject. "Dessert sounds good to me too."

"Uh huh, whatever you say." Joaquin said as she peered over her seat like a child. She had actually lost intrest a few minutes ago, all this talk of love and what not was not her kind of thing. When she finally say the waitress she waved her over.
"I want two of your biggest slices of the chocolate la
yer cake. She grinned at the waitress.
"You like chocolate right Nick?" she asked shooting his glance his way. It didn't matter what his answer was, she was getting it anyways. When the waitress walked off Joawuin turned back to Nick.
"You make love seem like a hard work. I'm kinda glad I don't feel it." she shrugged.

"Oh of course you do. Only an idiot doesn't like chocolate." Joey smiled as the waitress came back. Joey eagerly grabbed hers and stuck her fork in. "Also Bring the bill." she nodded before putting the delicious food in her mouth.
"Anyways. So what are you in town for. Got some buisness meeting or something?" She asked after she finished her cake. She had eaten down as if she'd been starving all day. Even though she'd just eaten.
She pulled her wallet from her pocket and pulled out some cash before reaching into her shirt and pulling out more money. She quickly counted and put it down on the table.
"Alrighty. So Nick, want me to give you a lift to your hotel or something or are you gonna walk?"

Her questions reminded me that I had found no place to stay. "Uh... I guess I'll just... Walk."
I said with a smile as I responded. I would have offered to pay, but to make things less awkward about this later, I'd rather her do it.
"Thanks Joey."
I said as I got out of the booth once I was finished with my own dessert.

"You sure? I mean I wouldn't be that hard for me. I'll probably just end up driving around doing nothing anything." Joaquin said sliding out of the booth after him.
"I mean what? Are you staying up at the hotel on (insert street name XD)? That's not too far from here." She shrugged as she shoved her hands into her jeans and followed him out the restaurant. "If you tell the idiot, his name's Shaun, atthe front desk that you're Joaquin's friend he'll give you employees discount."

Thinking Joey might not let the subject go, I gave in. "Yeah, it's that hotel. If your sure, I'd love a ride."
No, it wasn't that hotel. But maybe I had enough money for it with a discount. And if it wasn't, I'll leave once I knew Joey was gone. "Thanks."

SLipping the keys out of her pocket Joey opened the door and climbed in and waited for Nick. Man was she excited about this car, the best part was how she got the car itself. How she sliped her arms around his neck and it just snapped.

Maybe it's something similar to when Nich and Joey first met. Maybe, some time at night so there is not as many people, you park somewhere, and another person comes and accidentally scratches the car or something? And instead of them apologizing, it could always be them saying cocky things like 'you should have parked somewhere else then' you know how people are jerks a lot of times when that happens? xD ]]
