Aire wasn't sure where he was anymore. He was above the clouds, and it was getting dark now, the setting sun vanished, nothing but the twilight light to guide him. He was beginning to get fightened, but kept flying for as long as he could. Now, though, he was almost certain he was going around in circles. This thought was confirmed as he dipped below the clouds, and he could still see the plume of smoke rising rapidly into the air.

Landing- or rather, crashing through the treetops- at a point a little ways off from it, because he was too frightened to remain up in the air any longer, he thought he heard voices. With his eagle eyes, he was almost sure he saw people in the distance... no, not people. More like him.

Sprinting into the shadows, although it frightened him, he sat and waited for them to come this way. They'd come this way eventually, right? He didn't want to wait in... the dark shadows... all night. He had to fight his instincts to even be there for the few minutes he was there.

Aire, finally growing too scared out of his wits to remain in the dark shadows any longer, ran out of the black depths and into a small clearing, his heart pounding as he looked around nervously. Breathing heavily in fear, he looked about him, but could see nothing beyond the edges of the clearing, where the shadows began creeping in.

As even the twilight began to diminish, the shadows were beginning to creep closer, and he backed up to a tree, rested his back against it, and slumped down to the floor, hugging his knees for comfort. Why did that bad person have to come today? And why now, so near to the night-time? He'd have to sleep outside, tonight, without a nightlight or even the comfort of being with people he loved.
