Jake grabbed her foot and let it down gently. He sighed. "Look, just leave it to me. There will be a truck with Kyin and Riku's initioals painted on the side. When that one comes by the orphanage. You guys need to be ready to bolt for the gates." Riku smiled. "Aww.. How cute.. You do llike me brother.. But then again, you might be stolen by us. I mean, who would want Kyin over someone like me?" Kyin ran up and tackled Riku to the floor. He held his brother down. "Shut up!" Riku flipped Kyin over himself and got up into a crouch. "No. You heard what she said." |

Teresa took a step back, more to regain her balance than anything, then crossed her arms and nodded at Jake, her ex
pression mollified. "Fine." She said, then, "Thanks, Jake." as an afterthought. It wasn't grudging, though; she was starting to appreciate that Jake had come at all. Finally.
She turned toward Riku, a slight huff in her voice. "Shut up, it won't do any good you know." She said, flicking him playfully on the arm. She didn't feel like arguing anyway. It wasn't as if the words could physically do her any harm if she brushed them off.
"Okay, let's--" Her voice was drowned out as Kyin barrelled into Riku, knocking them both to the floor. Teresa felt the breath catch in her throat for a bare moment before she decided to breathe again. Kyin was yelling at Riku, who managed to get up.
Teresa stepped forward. "He's... he's right, Kyin." She said. "No matter what he says, nothing will change. My feelings, they won't... change." She eyed Riku. "Although if he keeps saying that, it's going to get really annoying really fast and I might have to break his jaw. Capiche?"

Jake smiled and looked at Teresa. "What a catch Kyin. Well, my ride is here.. I'll catch you guys later alrighty. Just remember to look for a truck with your initials on them.." He grabbed his cloak and slipped it on. He pulled the hood over and ran down the hallway. Kyin stood, stunned. "Wait, what? YOu mean.. you really do like me?" He looked at her and shook his head to shake off the shock. He looked at Riku. "Mind giving us a minute?" Riku stood up and brushed off his clothes. "Sure, don't get into trouble though.." He walked into their room and shut the door tightly. |

Teresa stared after Riku, feeling a slight chill as he shut the door. Now it was just her and Kyin, alone in the room.
She turned to look at him, somewhat nervous but not uncomfortable. They were standing a few feet apart, and it was utterly quiet except for the muted hum of the generator. Her hazel eyes watched him with curiosity and warmth.
It struck her then that Kyin might not feel the same way she did. After all, they had only met a few days ago (Even if they had spent every waking moment together after that). A blush crept onto her cheeks. She hadn't even thought of that.
How stupid of her.
She decided to start with something relatively neutral. "You didn't know?" She asked, a hint of confusion crossing her face.

kyin stepped closer. "Not really. I thought you were just being really nice to me cuz my brother's a jerk... i didn't know you actually liked me. Nobody's liked me here.. They just make fun of me cuz i'm two-faced and weak when i'm normal... and.. well, i'm not that good looking... Riku and Jake are right.. I didn;t get that gene as much as they did.. So it's really a shock to know someone likes me for who I am.." He placed his hand on her blushing cheek. "Your really warm now.. and actually, you look really pretty with all that color splashed across that velvet smooth skin of yours. Your pale, but with color, it just really makes you glow.." He smiled, trying to sound suave, even though he wasn't used to it. He chuckled and put his hands on her cheeks. "U didn't notice either then, did you?" Or could you read my like an open book?"

Teresa couldn't help but grin at his words, even if her heart was beating the crap out of her ribs at that moment. "You sound so fancy." She teased warmly, ducking slightly out of reflex, but not escaping the gentle grip of his hands. No doubt her face was turning a diluted cherry red by that point.
"You're not weak." She said. "You're strong in your own way- just like me. Except I'm not kind or gentle or good with words like you. I tend to beat people up first, then let them talk." If they can.
She blinked and tilted her head just slightly at his words, trying hard to concentrate with him so near to her.
Does this mean I can hope? She dared to wonder. She exhaled. It needed to be asked. "Kyin, what do you think of me?" She stared him dead in the eyes.

Kyin froze. He hadn't thought about it much. He knew what he thought, but, would she be mad if he said what he really thoght? Was she testing him to see if he would be "fancy" again? What if he said soemthing wrong and upset her? Would it screw up his chance? He looked at her. His eyes appearantly showing anxiety. "Well... I really think your pretty... i mean, i guess Riku sees you as more of a boy than girl, but with looks like that, i just see a really pretty girl. Your eyes are really pretty in the light too. With your pale skin, any color would bring our the lovely complection your truly so have. With that rose pink color, you look beautiful. Your down to earth, a bit violent, but who wouldn't be violent after sleeping here.. You manage to keep a pretty figure even though we don't get fed much food. Anything you do actually makes my heart beat a little faster." He stepped up to her and placed his hand on her cheek. "Now, your turn.." He smiled cutely.

Teresa listened to him without a word, though secretly she was growing more uncertain. She lowered her gaze and glanced off to the side, thinking, brows creased, until Kyin had spoken. She then reached up with her small, pale and and grasped his which was resting on her cheek.
"You're the family I never had." She said simply. "The comfort. The happiness. All those gaps are filled." She allowed herself to smile. "Maybe I'll become whole." Then, abruptly, she drew back, out of his reach.
"Kyin. Let's go . I don't want anything to happen before we get out of here." She waited for him, a few feet away, and blinked.
He had only said things about her appearance until the very end, where he had mentioned how violent she was. Her heart faltered slightly, and she suppressed a sigh. Was that what he thought of her? How pretty her hair and eyes were? It couldn't be...
Teresa shook her head mentally, as if to clear away the troubling thoughts, then started walking towards Kyin and Riku's room, knowing that Kyin would follow. She would sort this out later.

Kyin sighed and watched her leave. He turned on his heel and walked down the hallways, his bullet hitting the side of his leg. He looked around and noticed it was slightly more darker in the hallwyay. He felt a sudden twinge of pain. He placed his hand on his chest and looked around. Looks like it's only me. I don't know what I'm thinking when I get too hopeful.. I knew it.. Riku and Jake are right.. I'm not good for love... He clutched his shirt and continued down the hallway. He felt a hand grab him and another press against his mouth and nose. He pa.sed out. Kyin felt his hand being tied to something cold. He heard a cackle and recognized he laugh. He opened his eyes and noticed the head master standing a few feet from hi. "You .. what do you want with me?! I didn't do anything this time..." THe headmaster looked at Kyin and smiled. "The two-faced boy... You can pretend to be so innocent, but I know how you realy are. A blood-thirsty killer dwells inside... Now, i saw you talking to that person in teh cloak.. Start talking, or.." She pressed a button and the wall spun to reveal Riku and Teresa chained to the wall. Riku's hands were chained to teh wall. His feet chained to the floor. His snow-whie hair dashed with blood. Teresa was chained to the ame way, but her hand chains were more realxed. Kyin's eyes widened. "You.... no.."
