With a pleased grin Oz took Kazumi's hand, not really thinking too much about symbolism in physical contact or how it might make her feel. He pulled her to where he saw Art and Jake talking to... Four new people? Hey, the more the merrier. Plus Nina and Abbs would want dates, even if Nina wouldn't admit it, so the boy-girl ratio was made even by their attendance. At some signal passed between the three boys Jake and Art each took hold of one boy and one girl, not really paying attention to who was grabbing whom. In this chaotically organized formation they went to the Cafe, knowing that tardiness would be unacceptable.
Their arrival was perfectly timed, for no sooner had they come through the door than the current shift's replacements walked in through the back. Those on duty quickly turned over the the Boring Shift, and Nina, relieved of her apron and clocked out, stood on a table to address the gathered. After all, as the most normal of her companions and the closest thing they had to a responsible adult, it was kind of her job to keep some semblance of organization.
The transformation was instantaneous.
Abby, who had seen the boys come in with their special delivery and was already inching toward Matt, stopped dead in her tracks.
Chriss, who had been 'pushed' and was pressed against Ryan, straightened, her gaze returning from its "Eff Me Now" look.
Mulder, who had somehow ended up with his arm around little Cloud's waist, looked the slightest bit guilty, like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
Allie pretended that she hadn't been been about to pounce Helena, and ceased undressing the bat-girl with her eyes long enough to acknowledge the fox chick.
Oz, Jake, and Art, who were all good boys, nodded, grinning. For a moment Rai's tail caught Jake's attention, but a quick elbow-nudge from Art brought him back down to earth.
Thus acknowledged Nina grinned, nodding in something akin to triumph. It wasn't easy getting this lot settled down, but she managed alright. "Okay, so tonight we have two options: On one hand, we could go to Changeling Circus where they make drinks for us but they don't know how to make the really good stuff like ANY of the Ponies or any of the Starter Pokemon. And yet, we could force Mulder to sign up for the open mic, and laugh at him. On the other hand, we could go straight to the Fort, which is where we'd end up anyway for the watching of the Twilight movie and the Drinking Game of Doom and just make our own drinks, since the fort is fully stocked and Jake is a bartender. We shall let those who are technically not part of the Ace Gang decide."
The Ace Gang -Mulder, Chriss, Allie, Abby, Nina, Jake, Art, and Oz- looked to the other partiers, eyes bright. Either way they would have fun. Changeling Circus was a bit loud, but there was an atmosphere of insanity there that was unmatched by any club or bar in the area. And the Fort... Well, it happened to be the home of the entire Ace gang, and kind of a mansion. Fully stocked for the wildest and most nerdy of festivities, with an atmosphere of insanity unmatched by... Well, anywhere that wasn't an actual nuthouse. So fun times were assured.
