Carolyn decended the staircase, the box held close to her chest... her face was a pale white as she avoided eye contact with Yukita... she opened the box and held out the note for Ebony... who seemed one of the calmest, before she grabbed her brother and dragged him back into the room...  she staired at the floor and waited for Ebony to finish reading or perhaps read out loud.

This may be the last I write...  they have me cornered, you have been warned.  I dont know what they are.  Superhumans?  Immortals for sure.  They were blessed with inhuman beauty, unatural talents that even I cannot describe.  Their intellect is far more advanced then any I have seen.  Using the forms of creatures from our nightmares to seek out and destroy...  I watched my friends and family be destroyed by their 'gifts' if that is what you will call them.  If you ever meet one... I sware to you, you will never survive.

Drake glared.. "where did you get this." he demanded.

Carolyn shrinked back... "I-I-In a room on the seventh floor." she sqeaked.  Drake glared, "This house only has six floors." he stated dangerously..."And neither of us has been past the third." Carolyn shook her head..."S-Seven... and this was at the top...in a windowless room." she replied, shivering.  Drake swallowed and looked at Ebony..."well... question is...what do we do?" he said, pinching the bridge of his nose.  He glared at Yukita..."I nursed you in my home and you lead muderers to us?  What makes you different?" he growled, repeating Ebony's question.

Carolyn shrunk back... to frightened to anwser.

"How am I different?" Yukita pondered this for a moment, not really knowing herself. "I am different because I never let go of my humanity, what linked me to the human realm was that." She pointed at the anklet, then pointing at the one that Dante wore on his wrist. "I never asked you to help me, infact I was expecting to die the minute you found out. You do carry a weapon with you right. In these times you would be stupid not to. Who is that written by anyway." She walked swiftly over plucking the note from some girl's hand. Her eyes widened as she read the name. "He knew, Harrison knew. I've heard this name before, something Morana sa-" She cut off mid-sentence. "Morana is close. We havent got long. This I swear to you, I will protect you for as long as I stand." She hissed, her golden eyes turning to slits. "What does this say?" Dante asked looking at his arm. "Damnit Yukita, what does it say." Dante yelled looking up at Yukita. "My brother, I didnt want to say it, but... The end is upon us. The devil has won. We shall all die by the immortal's hands, never to see the light of day again." She sighed reciting the words she had wrote countless times, only to have them carved away.

 Isis growled still not believing or trusting the girl. "Okay, so what should we do when she comes?" She asked looking over at Ebony.

 "Well, how about we call that number now? I'm tired or listening about death and this Morana person." Ebony said.

All the blood seemed to drain for Carolyn's face as the lights began to flicker... she came to her brother's side through the silence and gripped his arm...  she didnt want to be a small child, but she didnt want to loose her last family member alive. 

Suddenly the loud shattering of glas.s echoed about the mannor... and the clicking of something sharp against the wood came from above... almost as if they were footprints.

Drake took in a deep breath and gripped his sister... he glanced at the others and looked to the cieling...trying to follow the noise, or try and determin the source...

 "What was that?" Isis asked looking up. "I hope that wasn't her." She said automatically going to the worse thing possible. She felt Ebony's nails dig into her skin and draw blood. "Ouch!" She said smacking Ebony's hand off her shoulder.

 "Sorry...Just nervous." Ebony said starting to chew at her finger nails.

"They are here. I must alert Morana." Aki hissed as she felt the bodies moving around inside of the building...

((GAH!))

"You have a right to be nervous, even I have a right to be afraid. No body can mistake those claws, the talons of Moran." She hissed as her beautiful skin wrinkled and turned from creme to grey. The wings emerged from her tatoo completing her hideous look with slightly pointed teeth. "Morana. You must leave them be. These two are important to their society, it would be very noticable if they were to die." She hissed up the steps, knowing well that she was heard.

"Yu-Yukita." He breathed, taking in the sight of the ugly beast that had once been his sister.

The claw clicking stopped... 

Drake could hear his heartbeat race in his chest...  The only sound was the rushed breathing of those in his house and the rain pelting on the old mannor.  he gripped Carolyn tighter... and looked at Yukita...it was true.  "You brought her hear... fight her!" he said between gritted teeth... panic running through his face...  how many has this monster killed?  Why did fate bring her here!

Carolyn clenched her eyes shut and stared towards the ground... "Drake...if what Yukita says is true...we have to run." she said between trembled.  Drake shook his head, "no.  If she is a griffon she can pick us off from the outside." he said, not taking his eyes off the mas.sive gargoyle.  Carolyn nodded.  "Then we must stay together... she wouldnt dare attack in a group?" she said with uncertainty.

ink... Drake looked up at the switch before the power went out, he lit a candle and watched the faces, his own pale.  He lit the large hearth and let the embers enlight the faces.

Yukita scowled. "Remember when I came in? She was the cause of my wounds. Fighting her alone is useless. A group wont do you any good either. We kill for the sport, and she is the mosssst cruel out of usss." She hissed, hating how her S's sounded.

"Great. THats just great. Are you telling us there is no way to fight this thing?" Dante began freaking out until Yukita whacked him on the head. "Yeah, that isss kind of what I w*censored*s impplying." She growled, slightly nervous. What are you planning misstress? "Have you called that number yet?"
