((Sorry for not being on. I won't be able to post much cuz I'm grounded but I will sneak on every now and then. Lets just say that Ana tought Flare how to fish, caught a few more, brought them back to the barn as the other dags were bringing back the rabbits. Is that ok?))

Ana lay in a thick pile of soft gr*censored* she had collected the day before and finishe off one of the fish she had caught, eating the bones since they were so small. She enjoyed the taste of catfish, odd for a dog, and loved going fishing.

Sinc lowered his head and pumped his legs faster as he sped up, gaining on Pepper but never actually catching her.

((Hmmm... What interesting thing can happen?))

Nightfall yawned. She lied down beside Arrow. "I wonder when the humans are coming today." she said, looking bored. Nothing interesting ever happened, really. Except for the time that a puppy fell into the water and had to be rescued. Maybe one day they'd find a deer in the wooded area. Injured enough for it to be stupid.

Impulse curled up for a brief nap. He had nothing to do.

Jailbreak settled down. He wasn't tired. He wasn't hungry. He wasn't thirsty.

((Sure... Are you okay with this?))

A bird flew past, holding something in its talons. It gleamed in the sunlight. Another bird hit the first, and the sparkly thing fell onto the gras.s. It was a triangular piece of glas.s, stuck into the lovely green field, sticking out. Just waiting.

((Perfect! :D))

Pepper laughed when she looked back, seeing Sinc trying to catch up. One paw step later, she had fallen. A stray root from the trees caught her foot. There was a sickening crack as she twisted over her leg. Then, she landed on something sharp... a peice of gl*censored* was gouged into her neck. She coughed and tried to stand, but her leg only made her fall again, driving the gl*censored* shard deeper into her neck. 

Pepper was dead.

((I want someone to deliver the news to Arrow rather than him see it himself.)) 

((Booo! Boring post. XD))

"Arrow!" Jailbreak howled. "Pepper is dead!"

Nightfall gasped. She rushed outside. "Oh, no!"

((Ew. This one, too. But I'm only using one hand to type. o.o *noms on plum*))

"I think she tripped and fell on this shard of glas.s," Jailbreak said sadly. He showed Arrow the piece that he had placed on a rock. "I tried to get it out, but it was too late... I'm sorry."

Arrow sighed. "Poor Pepper" he said softly. "She didn't even know what hit her." The familiar rumble of the beat-up truck that the humans drove around sounded outside the fence.

"Oh my god! That killed Pepper!" the old woman screeched, pointing.

Arrow's coat bristled. They were going to take her, he knew it. The rabbits were covered with hay, those were safe, but Pepper! He gave Pepper's ear one last lick as the old man picked her up and put her in his truck bed.

"Hey! Leave it alone Arrow" the man snapped. "Dogs are not food!" He put Pepper in the truck bed and shoved a few scoops of kibble over the fence. 

Sinc just stood there, whimpering lowly. He hung his head low. He blamed himself for Pepper's death. He should have seen the gl*censored*, he should have warner her. Not wanting to be yelled at later, he slunk into the deeper part of the wooded area and hid in a thick branble bush.

Ana didn't rush out to where Pepper's body had laid, she watched form the door of the barn. Pepper hadn't even seen it coming. Ana slowly walked out to stand just behind Arrow, head down and ears low.

((Sorry I wasn't able to post at all D8  I was at my grandma's beach house and she doesn't have a computer >.<))

Arrow sighed as the clanking truck drove away.

((Okay, that didn't work as planned. Just made everyone else sad. :/ Now what?)) 

((Do they have a ritual for dead dogs? Or do they just leave their bodies out there to rot/for the humans to take care of? Maybe we can form a pack now, if you think the time is right. Arrow can be all, "Oh, we need to stick together. Blah, blah. Etcetera. Insert interesting words here. Let's form a pack of dogs. Blarg." XD I relise that sounds odd. .____.))

Nightfall's ears drooped. She would miss Pepper. Such an energetic dog.

"The time for grief is over" Arrow sighed, watching the truck disappear over the horizon. "We have to stick together"

Nightfall nodded. They were already together. She wondered what he meant by that.

"We will all be safer as a pack" Arrow continued. "We can't have incidents like Pepper's. Playing is strictly confined to the pavement, were all obstacles can be seen and avoided." he said. "That shard of gl*censored* is to be buried in the woods to prevent further injury"
