Dreampaw fetched a squirrel from the fresh-kill pile and then beckoned to Moonpaw. The apprentices drew together in a loose circle, all eating their prey.

"What did you do today Moonpaw?" Minkpaw asked curiously, eating some of his share of the robin before Tulippaw gobbled it all down. "Did you hunt or battle?"

"Well, medicine cats don't have to hunt, and rarely battle" Moonpaw explained. "Applesong told me so"

"Really?" Dreampaw asked curiously. "If they don't hunt or battle what do they do?"

"We heal sick cats with our herbs" Moonpaw explained "Applesong said that only a few cats ever get to be chosen as medicine cats, and knowing herbs is a great gift"

"Sounds boring to me" Minkpaw said. "I can't wait to do battle practice tomorrow! I'll cream Tulippaw!"

"Featherstorm said that I have to rest all during the day tomorrow, so she can take me out at night." Dreampaw said. "Maybe Sacredstar will bring Spottedpaw!" she said happily. "I'm sure she'll be an excellent hunter, her fur is so dark" 

Dreamkit, chuckled, yanking her tail away from her sister. "Let's get some sleep then hm?"

"That sounds great to me" Minkpaw said, stretching.

"I'll see you all tomorrow" purred Moonpaw, heading back towards the medicine cats den again.

Spottedpaw licked Sacredstar's ear in thanks for sharing her meal and bounded to the  apprentice's den with her siblings to make their nest and go to sleep. 

Tulippaw made herself a nest right in the middle, not caring about the angry glares from other cats. She settled in and fell asleep.

Sacredstar nodded and curled up in her own den.

Feralclaw was tired, but none the less wanted to see Lightwave in the nursery. He quietly poked his head in.

Lightwave blinked awake with a soft laugh. "Feralclaw, you needn't check in on me every other hour." she said. "I won't be kitting for a few moons."

Spottedpaw made her nest next to Littlepaw, who was currently dead to the rest of the world and covered in bruises.

Minkpaw made his nest next to Tulippaw, so far his favorite sister after they had been hunting together.

Dreampaw made a nest in between her siblings, but tried not to go to sleep, seeing as she would be out all night the next day.

((Poof to next day?)) 

"I know, but I want to." He meowed and lay down next to her, licking her cheek. His quirky and mischevious smile was still on his face as he looked at his beautiful mate.

Littlepaw tiwtched his bruised tail when Spottedpaw lay down, but didn't move an inch.

Tulippaw got up early in the morning and bounded outside to find her mentor, Serpentbreeze. She bounced around, surprisingly full of energy for how early it was.

Littlepaw groaned and rolled over. "Why won't she just go to sleep....?" He muttered and tucked his head into his paws, still a bit tired.

Feralclaw had accidentally fallen asleep next to Lightwave and nervously shuffled out of the Nursery. He began to clean himself.

Sacredstar was still snoring in her den, head tucked in her long siamese fur. (XD)

Hornetwing batted her sister roughly on the back of the head. "Wake up you lazy lump of fur!" she snarled. "Your apprentice is already awake and I need warriors for dawn patrol!"

Serpentbreeze growled, grudgingly hauling herself out of her nest into the clearing. She managed to groom her fur quickly before she was met by Tulippaw. She paused mid-lick. "What are you doing awake so early? Were you not fully occupied yesterday?" Serpentbreeze paused for a second. "Nevermind that. I'm leading the dawn patrol, I'm taking Rogueheart, Owlcomet and Feralclaw with me"

Dreampaw tried to sleep in through the bustle of the morning, as Featherstorm had instructed: she was due to rest the whole day so she could practice her claw at night-hunting.

Spottedpaw bounced out of the apprentice's den, her fur already sleek and glossy from the morning's grooming. She looked around and paused in the center of camp. "Where's Sacredstar?" she wondered out loud, her head spinning around the camp.

Minkpaw saw Feralclaw coming from the nursery. He had heard Serpentbreeze choose him for dawn patrol too. Wanting to be the first to tell him, he puffed out his chest importantly and trotted over to his mentor. "Seprentbreeze is taking us on dawn patrol!" he announced happily. 

Moonpaw was learning the herbs with Applesong. -fail-

Lightwave mumbled sleepily when she felt Feralclaw leave the nursery. She twitched in her sleep, her belly was not yet very swollen, her kits had a while to develop.

Owlcomet sat next to Serpentbreeze, hearing his name for the dawn patrol, he waited for Rogueheart. This would be her first patrol since she kitted.

"Oooh! Can I come Huh huh Please?" tulipppaw mewed and bounced around in excitment.

Rougeheart emerged from the Warriors den, stretching her wings and smiling at her half-vampire kits.

Feralclaw was grouchy at the time. "Not us. It's too dangerous for you to come." He meowed down at Minkpaw. He licked his head. "Your too young, it's only your second day. Maybe next time. I want you to train with spottedpaw and Sacredstar while I'm away." He meowed gently.

Sacredstar slowly woke up, yawning. "Why is everyone up so early...?" She mumbled and sleepily blikned, getting up and licking her fur clean. She came out, only to smack into Spottdpaw by accident.

Serpentbreeze purred, happy her apprentice was so eager to learn. "Of course I'll take you," she said "but be sure to follow orders from me and all the other warriors while we're out especially"

Minkpaw's tail drooped. "But Tulippaw is going" he said in a small voice.

Spottedpaw jumped. "Oh! There you are!" she squealed. "What are we doing today?" she asked eagerly. "Can we do more battle practice and hunting today?" she asked hopefully. 

Feralclaw sighed. "You may come, but I won't hear any of it if you get thorns in your paws." He meowed and licked his head.

Tulippaw practically flopped over with how excited she was, Bouncing almost as high Sperpetnbreeze stood.

Sacredstar looked drowsy, but smiled. "We'll hunt today." She meowed and flicked her tail. She nodded and trotted to the entrance.

Littlepaw yawned, his body feeling better, and sleepily blinked his light blue eyes open. "Wah-? Oh, Fox dung! I slept in!" He yelped and quickly washed himself, rushing out and standing before hornetwing. "I'm sorry..." He mumbled, his head down. There was still scraps of moss on his fur.

Hornetwing licked the scraps of moss from her apprentice's pelt. "It's okay, I told you you could sleep in today, and come to me only when you felt ready for more training. I don't want you to die of exhaustion like the kits that Brokenstar had had apprenticed so long ago," Hornetwing purred. "Take your time"

Minkpaw nodded obediently. "Thank you Feralclaw! You won't regret it!"

Serpentbreeze stretched, shaking the last of the morning dew off her shoulders. "Alright then, let's get going." she said, leading the patrol out of camp, taking the easiest route, conscious of the young apprentices. 

Feralclaw nodded to Serpentbreeze and followed in front of Rougeheart and Owlcomet, who were at the back. He kept an eye on Minkpaw, but tried to focuse on the patrol also.

Littlepaw looked up. "I'm ready for more training, Hornetwing." He meowed, but couldn't help but smile. She really wasn't as cruel as she seemed. not at all.

Tulippaw bounced beside her mentor, her tail straight up as she trotted proudly amoung the swath of cats.

Sacredstar and Spottedpaw soon arrived at Adderrocks and nodded. "They should be hiding this time of year, but I want you to keep a lookout anyway." She meowed.

"More battle training? I find it easier to focus on one thing at a time, but if you'd prefer hunting that'll do as well." Hornetwing said

 Serpentbreeze's tail twitched when she smelled prey. "Tulippaw, tell me what scents you can smell" she said, looking down at her.

"I could out-run any adder!" Spottedpaw said confidently. "But if you insist, I'll watch my step" Spottedpaw lifted her muzzle and scanned the rocks. She dropped into a crouch as she scented a squirrel. She crept up to it inch by inch. Just as she tensed her muscles  to spring, the squirrel dashed up the tree trunk in a smile. "Mouse dung" Spottedpaw spat angrily. 

"Oh, Well, anything you think would be good." Littlepaw said nervously, his whiskers quivering.

Tulippaw nodded and opened her mouth. "Squirrel, Robin.... And Bloodclan!" She yelped at the fresh scent of bloodclan cats.

Sacredstar sat down. "Let me show you." She meowed and crouched, sniffing. A blue jay was sitting on a root. She slowly stalked forward, and then pounced. The blue jay squealed in terror, but Sacredstar killed it with  swift bite.

((Nah--I think we should start off a huge group of rogues with one cat they follow, and they attack and spy on Cloudclan so they can create their own clan and have their own territory? I think it should be called Iceclan or Hailclan, because ice and hail come from clouds. :) ))

Hornetwing nodded. "Alright, we'll go to Snake hills to train this time, but let me know if you get tired this time" she said sternly. 

Serpentbreeze scented the air. "That is not Bloodclan" she chuckled. "That is just a badger"

"Either way we should check it out" Owlcomet pointed out, pointing his muzzle to the direction where the badger-scent was coming from. His fur prickled. "The scent is coming from Adder Rocks!" he hissed. "Sacredstar is training there with Spottedpaw!" he hissed.

Serpentbreeze's fur prickled with realization.  "Tulippaw, Minkpaw, run back to camp and alert Lightwave, she'll be worried if it heads towards camp." she ordered.

Minkpaw didn't hesitate or wait for Feralclaw's orders. He knew only to obey his seniors, and Serpentbreeze was older than his mentor. He dashed down the slope, his limbs moving faster than he had ever gone before. He almost couldn't stop when he reached camp. He panted heavily, whipping his head around. The camp was pretty empty except for Featherstorm staring out from the warriors den and Lightwave's fait snoring from the nursery. He tapped his claws on the stone then went in to the apprentice's den, where Dreampaw was trying to sleep on Featherstorm's orders. "Dreampaw, the patrol scented badger!" he said urgently.

Littlepaw nodded obediantly.

Tulippaw looked embara.ssed, but nodded and sped off behind minkpaw. She ran to the Warriors den and warned the few cats that were there.

Sacredstar saw something move in the bushes. She stiffened and sniffed the air. "Spottedpaw, Run!" She yowled, but the Badger had already brust from the bushes and was eyeing spottedpaw hungrly.

((Hailclan. 8D Okay. Should it bel ike bloodclan in the books, where they don't have warrior names, they have ones like bone and Scrouge?))

((Sure, but soon they'll adopt warrior names. :) ))

Spottedpaw screeched at the top of her lungs. "Sacredstar! There's a badger on your back!"

Featherstorm looked up as clouds blocked the sun. It started to rain. She flexed her claws. "This is perfect!" she said. "Dreampaw! Minkpaw!" she snapped.

Dreampaw and Minkpaw scrambled out of th apprentices den obediently at Featherstor's command. "You two are staying here and guarding camp" she said, her eyes boring into theirs. "Tulippaw, you warn Applesong and Moonpaw, then help guard."

Serpentbreeze pricked her ears, hearing Spottedpaw's yowl. "We're too late!" she hissed. "Rogueheart, fly ahead and help Sacredstar and Spottedpaw, Owlcomet and I will run through the trees!"
