The entire town seemed to be holding it's breath. Not a thing stirred. Shaaka strode to the middle of town. "Beware!" she called. "Beware, for your doom is here. It is I, Bloodnight!" The wails of a baby split the night. Shaaka headed towards the sound, oblivious of everything else.

Sara walked the opposite direction. She walked towards the south side of town where her old 'bboyfriend' lived. She climed through his window and smiled. "Hi Jason," She said. Her voice was like silk. Her eyes went from a Topaz To a bloodred.

Shaaka sank her teeth into the baby's neck. Sweet blood washed down her throat. The baby's family huddled in a corner, watching her with fearful eyes. The youngest girl whimpered. Shaaka looked at her for a long moment, then bit her, too. The baby's empty body dropped to the floor.

Jason's eyes widened at the sight of his 'gilrfirend' he thought he killed. "Sara? It can't be!" He shouted. "Oh, but it is me, my love? Don't you miss me?" She cackled softly and dived and bit his neck. His sweet blood flowed down her throat and through her fingers.

Sara looked at the sun coming up and ran right beside her. She ran to the clearing and she walked east and looked for Lance. "Shaaka? Have you seen a newborn vampire anywhere?" She asked with a slight hint of worry in her voice.

Lance saw a small cougar and pounced. It was like he was made for being a vampire. He learned quickly. He had his fill and walked over to Sara. He spoke in a soft voice," Sara....Who was that...'vampire (He shuddered at the word)' That you were with?" Sara sighed and grabbed his hand. "Lance...Come on. I'll introduce you two." |
