Two figures stood, lighted by moonlight, breathing hard with numerous wounds.

"Ya know," Jai gasped, catching her breath "You're kinda cute...in a totally disgusting, blood-thirsty kinda way." The monster snorted and turned away as if it had had enough fighting and random degrading remarks for the night. A peircing whistle made it turn its body and face.....nothing. Utter nothingness.

A slight, sudden weight on its back made it stop, and a stinging pain at the base of its long neck made it scream. It was all Jai could do to keep from covering her ears. She bit her lip and dug her knives farther in intil they stuck the spine. The beast stopped suddenly and buckled like a machine.

The girl rolled away from its body and dragged herself away as it thrashed in death. She sighed and drew her legs up painfully, embras.sing them with her arms. "Aint no coward..." She mumbled, resting her head on her bruised knees.

Silent sighed and finally, he was alone. He dropped to his knees, his face on the cold floor. The lights in the hallway he was in flickered and then died. He let out a low moan. "Not yet...." he moaned. Pain flashed up his spine and he arched his back, throwing his head back, his mouth open in a silent scream of pain. The pain slowly faded and he relaxed. But it came back all too quickly.

"No...." he growled. Slowly, the pain began to fade as he pushed his werewolf side back. "Soon...." He panted. Slowly, the pain disappeared and he dropped to his side, breathing heavily. A thin sheen of sweat glistened on his face. Carefully, he stood up. he looked around, realizing the light's were out. Suddenly, they flickered on. He grimaced.

A drizzle fell, waking Jai up gently; she didnt even know that she'd fallen asleep. She regarded the carcas.s farther off, then lifted her face o the sky, letting the cold rain fall on it, washing away dried blood. The blonde girl hissed as the droplets struck against the gashes on her left cheek. They ran parallel, three angry, dark red furrows, the bottom one started at the corner of her mouth, tearing the lip, and ended with her jaw, the middle one starting the corner of her nose and ended farther up her jaw.

The third one scared her. It ran just below her left eye and ended at her temple. She groaned and lay down, her back in a puddle, the cool wather soothing her aches. "On the dark side, I've learned that I cant keep doin' this alone. On the bright side, I'll have some awesome new scars!" She grinned as she pillowed her head in her hands. To anyone else, she looked relaxed, totally defencless, but inside, her muscles were taut and her ears caught  the slightest sound.

Kaina halted when she heard a growl. She narrowed her blue eyes. "Just when I thought I'd be safe from your kind..." Kaina spat, whipping around to face a monster. Her hand reached for her dagger. She pulled it out, eyes showing anger.

Kaina jumped back a few steps, and the monster went after her. "Want to play follow the leader, eh, you creature? Well come and get me," she sneered. Quickly, she lunged forward, and dug her dagger in the monster's belly, then drew her arm back. The monster grunted and swung claws at her, but she nimbly leaped away.

"Too slow," she mocked the monster. The foul monster swiped again, more swift this time. Kaina groaned as the claws ran down her right arm, leaving five long scratches, identical to what was on her left arm. Blood oozed from the arm. Kaina yelled,"You're gonna get it now, bad-breathed monster!" 

Karienne nodded and cam and sat next to her. "Im so sorry." she said softly. She patted her back comfortingly.

Sometime she wondered if she could take anymore of this. It was all to much. All this senseless dying. Sometime it was to overwhelming ans she broke down into tears. But she promised herself on her parents grave that when she joined the group she would banish these Nightcrawlers. Making sure she killed every last one of them. She looked back down at her friend. Soon I'll reach my breaking point, She thought as her eyes watered. How am I ever gonna survive that?

Leena nodded, not looking up, not saying a word. Her sobs were the only sounds that could be heard throughout the room. "Oh, Ben...", she thought, her sorrow overwhelming, "Why Couldn't it have been me? Why did we have to loose you? Why did I have to loose you? I would have gladly taken your place." Her shoulders shook, the pillow now thourghouly soaked, her eyes red and tearstained.

She fially sat up, clutching the pillow like it was the only thing keeping her alive. "Kari, why did he have to die?", she asked sadly, "Why did Ben have to die?

Karienne sighed and shook her head slowly. She closed her eyes for a moment. "I don't know." She choked. She bit her lip and tried to force back her tears.

"Some things we can't control."She said. She looked away for a moment. No. Don't break down now, She thought to herself. She looked back at Leena sadly. "At least Si killed the beast."she said.

Karienne nodded. She sighed and looked over at the picture also. Then she got an idea. "Hey Lee what if we had a little funeral memorial tribute type thing?"She said.

"I mean we could put up a picture of him play some sad music say what we like about him the most."She said. she had don that when he parents had died. "It will make you feel a little better."She said. "But we don't have to fo it."
