Moonsong looked in Sablepaws direction with a ocnfused ex
pression, but she puched it out of her mind, looking back to wolfheart, "When I was an apprentice, so was Cougarfeather, Wildheart, and Nightbird. We went into a big fight, and Wildheart lost his eye. I happened to get a large gash in my shoulder. Snowdrift was still an apprentice, and Greypath was the Medicine cat. Unfortunately, he couldnt keep the infection out. It spread through my whole body, everyone though I would die. But Snowdrift had faith in me, even after Greypath had given up. She knew how strong I was, and I pulled through, but not before the wretched infection took away my sight. Me and Wildheart had to relearn how to fight and hunt. And there is so much I miss, you may take the sunset for granted, but now that I cant see it, its all I want." she sighed, but then tilted her head, "tell me, what color are you?"

Wolfheart smirked. "I'm a silver tabby. With blue eyes..." He set his tail on her shoulder for a moment, "And I'm sorry about your vision, but look on the bright side," he paused, "You're still here, with all your friends. You're a warrior."

Ravenclaw purred, "Thank you."

Ravenclaw nodded, and stood in silence.

Sablepaw flopped into her nest in the apprentice's den and tried to fall asleep.

Wolfheart purred, "Nothing wrong with being a Medicine cat. And I have shortish fur. It's longer now that the weather is getting colder..." He glanced after Sablepaw. What the..? He shook it off and focused on the pretty she-cat in front of him again.

Sablepaw closed her eyes tighter, cutting off the flow of tears. She had just spilled her most guarded thoughts and worries to a young warrior who didn't even return her emotions as far as she knew.

Moonsong nodded, "Blue eyes? Thats what color Snowdrift said my eyes turned when I got sick. They used to be dark green." She thought back to what Wolfheart had said before, "so whats your story? I don't know much about the clan, I spent most of my life in the Medicine Cat's den, I am probably the same age as you, but I was only recently allowed to be warrior." she chuckled.

Adderpaw padded into the Apprentice's den. He curled up next to Sablepaw, watching her intently, "you okay?" he whispered.

Wolfheart fidgeted a little. "I grew up a rogue. My mother and father left when I was about 5 moons old, as expected of rogues. I had no brothers and sisters.." he drifted off, eyes staring into the distance, "Many moons ago I came to the clans because I had fallen in love with one of the cats here...Not long after she was killed..." He pinched his eyes closed. "...And I should have left when I had the chance."

Sablepaw jumped. She hadn't even noticed Adderpaw come in. "No," she mewed, "I'm not okay. I'll never be. I never was."

Adderpaw chuckled, "your better off than me, at least you have friends." He said, yawning.

Moonsong tilted her head, "why should you leave, being part of a clan is the best thing ever. And whatever has ben taken away, you learn from it, and it makes you stronger." Her eyes showed the honesty of her words, "trust me, I have expirience with that."

"At least you can see," Sablepaw snarled, patience worn out, "At least you can train and run around like a normal apprentice without falling on your face! At least you know what everything looks like!" she said in a whisper, "I'd give anything, ANYTHING, just to be able to see for one day.." she sighed, "One single day.."

Wolfheart shook his head before she finished. "From the second I came to the clan," his voice became a growl, "They hated me. They taunted me and totured me. Then she died, and nothing else held me to clan life. But I stayed, and endured the torture even to this very day. Why? I'm still not sure myself. Being a rogue, I'm better off." he finished quietly, "I'm better off alone."

Moonsong shook her head, "when I lost my sight, my world crashed down. Nobody thought I could be a warrior, most of my friends walked away, I couldnt see a thing, I was sure I would never be happy again. Then Wildheart became a warrior, I left the Medicine cat's den, and he trained me. I made the best out of a bad situation. And not everyone hates you, Adderpaw seems to admire you, as do I." she smiled at him.

Adderpaw lost it, "Maybe sight isnt as good as you think it is! I see death, destruction, betrayal, pain. You have no idea what it looks like to see into someone's eyes, and feel their pain seep into you. " He stood and his fur bristled, "not do you want to, I feel what I see, it makes life harder. I may be able to see where I'm going, but after today, I wish I was blind!"
