Wind couldn't reply. After a long pause, he said, "If you can find a way to get me out of here... I'll come out of the backyard. But it'll be hard, since I have the keys, and the door's locked, and the whole thing is made of steel." He knew that Suzume could possibly get him out. And that she could possibly not. But, it would be fair enough to let nature pick.

(Here 'tis a hint.) Wind got up and sat in the far corner of the cage. The steel was not there. But it was a different material. He slightly rocked back and forth on the cage.

(You can't dig. The bars of the cage go deep in the earth.) "So. You've found it?" Wind said. It was wire at that part of the cage. The parts of the building of the cage must have been missing a piece, and so Master fixed it up. But it would be hard to bend, unless you were on the outside.

Suzume could already tell that digging would fail. She backed up about ten feet, then ran at the metal, slamming head-first into it. She felt the metal bend- then everything went black.

"Suzume!" Wind cried. "Suzume..." He knew it would lead to bad things. And that is why he would stay. He would. This was part of the reason why he had planned on staying. Bending the wire to its original place, he licked Suzume's cheek as a farewell. Tucking part of the corner of the wire mesh facing the inside of the cage, Suzume could probably have a bad chance of bending the wire again.

After a while, Suzume woke up. She stood up and looked at the wire. She was close to tears. "I...I didn't even bend it...?" This didn't make sense. She had felt it bend before she blacked out.
