Emma was sleepless. The warehouse was still open for visits and dozens of dealers came and went throughout the whole night. Very few were the nice kind. Most of them were brutes. Emma did not care anymore who would buy her. She just wanted to leave that dirty cage she was locked in, once and for all.

The sun had risen and it was the beginning of a new day. ''Maybe today will be better for us!'' she calmly said to Claire, the young Ketsunemimi who was now sharing her cage.

Claire looked at Emma. "We're going to rot in here," she said sadly. Nobody was going to buy her. She was scared, tired, and agitated. She laid down and put her tail around her waist. All of the noise was still bothering her, but she didn't want to get a beating even harsher than what she was already threatened with. She got back up after a while and stretched. She had the perfect way to get adopted. Every person that walked by, she would act like she liked them.

"Hi, I'm Claire," she said to a man that walked by her cage. The man smiled back cordially and looked at her. He frowned away when he saw the scars on her back. Claire frowned and backed up to the furthest side of the cage. Unless someone didn't care about her scars, she wouldn't be sold, and really would rot in this cage.

Emma noticed the sadness in Claire's eyes. ''Don't worry, sweetie, everything will be okay'', she said to reas.sure her. ''You know, somebody once told me that scars were the bridge to someone else's broken heart. You will find that someone one day, and your heart will heal''.

Emma sighed. Only hope was keeping them alive.

I (Violet, for the people who don't remember) looked up. No, I pretended to look up and my sister tugged my sleeve again,

"hurry up!" she said to me "Do you want to be left behind!?!"

I started angrily "Mother wouldn't let you do that!"

"You want to bet?" 

"No." I muttered and just followed the way she was tugging me...

102 steps north turn the left 237 steps to the east.....wait we are pa.ssed 237..... way pa.ssed the way we are suppose to arrive at the library by now? Was it almost half and hour? I could't tell.

I started to say Hey, where are we going? When sister suddenly stopped and said in a soft but somehow sounded a little menacing voice,

"We're here"  

I was beyond angry now first she lied to my saying we where going to the library then she brings me to a place we don't even know! Second, I know we don't know this place because I have never been to a place that gave off such menacing vibes. She's got lots of expanding to do but I was cut of when a booming voice stated not said not explained  but stated.

"welcome! to the warehouse of the shadows where the most exotic lets say, companions to not scare you girls are sold here, so how may I help you?" 

He had a scary voice I was about to turn around and go back when my sister said

"yes, you may help us we are looking for a....."

and I couldn't hear the rest because sister whispered it.

I don't need eyes to hear the sly smile in his voice when he replied

"yes I can certainly help you....Lets start over here...."
