Zane tripped Jake, who got up and tackled Zane. Suddenly, there was the noise of a car pulling into the parking lot. An odd noise for this school. It was a police car. Charlie and Lucy ran over. The police man got out of the car. "Do any of you know a boy named Christopher Russo?"

The sadness hit Kris like a wave. The first friend I ever made here.....is.....close if not braindead. It's. My. Fault, she realized. She looked for possible escape roots to her dorm/bathroom/lake.

Lucy staggered backward, and then ran in the opposite direction. Charlie stood there, a sickening look on his face. Jake and Zane ran up to him. After Charlie told them what was going on, Zane threw up, and Jake began to cry.

Kris just floated there, never feeling out of breath, or not feelig enough to care. She curled into a ball, but that made her float to the surface. She breathed in fresh air while floating on her back. She was fully clothed, so it should've felt aquward, but again, she couldn't feel. Tears continued to pour from her eyes, and she thought she tasted blood.

The police man came back, and he was going to alert Chris's mom. "Don't worry, the human brain is an amazing thing. It will rewire itself." He said, and then drove off.

Charlie finally got ahold of himself. He needed to go find Kris. He saw her in the water. "Kris!" He shouted.

Kris faintly heard someone call her name, and looked up. She saw Charlie. She did her best to swim over to him, but was so numb, she had to stop sometimes. The times she had forgotten to breathe. She finally reached him. She swallowed. "Yeah?" she asked.
