"Free probly isn't the word I should use," Spook said, "but that's what I feel."

"Nine lives," Ebony said, "and I haven't used up a single one." She cocked her head, "I'll have to watch you though. You're mind doesn't bend." she looked at a streetlight, her pupils contracting into slits, "watch your shadow, it bites."

"No," Spook said, "like I've been tied to a chair for my whole life, but now the ropes are cut."

Ebony shrugged, "I try. Would you like me to elaborate?"

"It feels wierd," Spook said.

"Firstly, I'd rather not go into that," Ebony said, "my lives are mine alone, and are a secret nobeast may no. Secondly, your mind is something like a grain of sand, and I mean no offence when I say that. Whenever I think I have it, it slips through my fingers and is lost. It won't bend nor break. Thus the grain of sand. Thirdly, your shadow will litteraly bite you. Hard. Ever heard of Hengleen?"

(It was the first thing that came to mind XD)

"Like... a puppet on strings?" Spook sugested. 

"Such a shame you took up necromancy," Ebony said.  

"I don't know," Spook said.

"You've got blood on your hands and a soul in your pocket, as the old saying goes. Although you don't. You've lost the soul." Ebony said, "but you smell of crow's rose."

(Grimsley, Merlin and Jack all seem to have a thing with their accents XD)

"But I just thougt of a good one," Spook said.

Ebony shrugged, "all the same."

Spook tapped one of his wings, "if I had these they'd have been clipped."

Ebony chuckled, "you'd make a good Settegrawkian."

Spook stroked one of his feathers, "have I told you how awesome these are?"

Ebony followed him, "that's the spirit!"

"Would you rather the violins start playing?" Ebony asked.

"I'm not a fan of hights..." Spook said.

"Tell me, what will taking your terrible life out on me do to help?" Ebony hissed, "you could go round cutting people with the shards of your shattered heart, or do yourself a favor and stick it back together!"

"Uh... if you say so..." Spook said.
