Robinstar stretched his back and legs, stiff from the constant drizzle. The cold wet air did anything but help the clan on their travels. In the past moon or so, the clans had travelled far from their homes. The destruction that ravaged it had no mercy for them whatsoever, it has been to hard for any of the clans to bear, and they'd been forced away. And still, they had not found a suitable home.

{Thats fine^^. And I picked menotr's; is everyone alright with their apprentice/mentor?}

Poking his quivering nose from the small, make-shift nest he'd been able to scrounge up, Starpaw blinked his eyes to dislodge the moisture and crust that had built up over the night. He suddenly missed his old nest and den with such feircness his heart ached. The journey had taken it's toll on every cat and the Streamclan apprentice felt completly hopless without his stash of herbs that's scent had lulled him to sleep every night. Sighing, the to small apprentice padded a few steps from his nest and stretched, not surprised when his back leg muscles shreiked in protest. The limbs did not like to work anyway. Shaking his unkept, scraggly pelt, Starpaw glanced wearily around for his mentor, wondering if perhaps Greenfeather had something for him to do. He hoped so, the feeling of uslessness did not bode well for him.

---

Slinking through the multiple bodies scattered around their latest rest spot, Fallenbane made sure to keep his tail heigh lest it drag over some cats nose and wake them. Thats just what he needed, some other warrior snarling at him for their untimely awakening. Ears flat against his head so the rain would not get into the sensitive appendeges, the ginger warrior growled with releif as he reached the edge of the group, amber eyes staring into the vast beyond. The darkness, lighting though because of the rising sun, called to him. Crooning it's promise of freedom and hapineess into his ears thorugh the caress of wind. So intent on the land, the warrior jumped guiltily as a tail touched his shoulder in greeting. Jerking his head over his broad shoulder, Fallenbane dipped his head in greeting. "Hello Panthergaze." He meowed, voice gruff. But there was a undertone of friendliness he rarely expressed. Panthergaze had been his first apprentice, and he hoped his last. But they still shared a close bond, one his did not take for granted.

"Lovley morning." The black tomcat meowed sarcastically, the drawl in his voice making Fallenbane's whiskers twitch. Maybe that was one of the reasons' he liked Panthergaze, for all of his kit-like attitude and cheerfulness, his dry humor at approporiate times set off Fallenbane's lack of. "You thinking about her again?" Panthergaze asked suddenly, looking curiously over at his former mentor. The younger warrior knew everything thorugh pestering his mentor about the topic until Fallenbane snapped and spilled.

"No. I do not think about her any longer. Thats was seasons ago." The scoff from Panthergaze told him that he did not beleive a word he said. "I'm thinking about a way to reconcile with my sons, thats it." The bitter edge of his tone practically snarled 'stop talking' and Panthergaze knew when enough was enough. Having learned from experience pressing matters with Fallenbane would only make him clam up more. "The clan needs to be fed before we leave again. Let's find Robinstar and let him know that we're going to hunt." Chosing not to argue about being ordered around, the black cat followed happily, large paws leaving deep dents in the mud.

{I'll add the others later.}

Dawnflower woke with a start. She slowly got up and stretched out her back legs, careful not to hurt the unborn kits in her belly. She looked around for a friendly face, but saw only Robinstar, Panthergaze, and Fallenbane, none of which she fancied talking too now.

Just make it green, blue, white, and swirly. :D

"Good morning Fallenbane, Panthergaze," Robinstar sighed, "Are you heading out to hunt, if not please do so. When you get back and all the cats are awake we will head out again." He dipped his head to the toms and walked off.  Padding over to Starpaw he mewed, "How's our medicine cat today?" He gazed warmly at the young tom as he waited.

Brokentail awoke to a paw tapping his large head. "Hey lazy, it's morning." he heard a cool female meow. He opened on orange eye to look up at a pretty black cat licking her paw. She turned his cold blue eyes onto him. "Wake up, now." she said annoyed, her tail flicking to the side.

He raised his large body up and stretched, yawning as he did so. He turned toward the smaller she-cat. "Midnightflower," He said looking over at his adoptive sister. "You're in a good mood." Midnightflower, looked towards him for a moment. "Yeah whatever." She said as sheraised a paw and batted his forever crooked tail. He paid no attention, it's not as if it hurt. "I hate the rain." He said as he raised his paw and licked it. "Tell me about it." She said as her blue eyes scanned the area. She saw a couple of other warriors were awake along with the leader and the medicine cat apprentice.

"Well at least we aren't the last ones awake." Brokentail muttered as he looked towards Midnightflower. "But we're not the first either." She said staring off, not looking at the abnormally large cat. She stood up suddenly and started to pad off. "Where you going?" Brokentail said falling into step beside her. "Anywhere, just need to do something." She said as she looking around anyone that she didn't comepletely hate to talk to. Which was weird for considering she was a pretty anti-social cat.

((Well I fail at intro's so do with that what you will XP))

Fallenbane only nodded in acknowledgment to Robinstar's words, amber eyes gazing off into the distance. A sudden burst of wind fluffed his fur up in the wrong direction, allowing water to saturate his vulnerable skin. "This better let up soon or the rest of today's journey will be extremely patience testing." Panthergaze mused, voice cheery enough that Fallenbane itched to cuff his ears as if he were still his apprentice. Squashing the urge, because he would be hunting with the black tom, he only scowled in response and started off into the scraggly bushes to the opposite of the way they came. Scenting the air, trying to distinguish anything from the overwelming smell of cat, he sighed as only soggy ground remained. "Let's head in a little deeper, we need to at least find something for Dawnflower and the medicine cats."

---

Jumping with a startled yowl as some cat spoke unexpectedly, Starpaw flushed from nose to tail tip. Wide blue eyes looking up to Robinstar, he felt even more embarr*censored*ed. Out of all cats to see his folly of being snuck up on like prey, it had to be the one cat he respected above all. But meeting Robinstar's warm gaze he could not help the small smile from blooming across his muzzle. "I'm not technically Medicine Cat yet." He meowed, getting to his tiny paws proudly. "But Greenfeather is teaching me still as we travel." He suddenly wondered where his mentor was; he'd not seen the medicine cat yet. "I learned what Ragwort does and what it looks like." He purred, remembering his excitment as Greenfeather taught him. "Are we going to continue travelling today?" The apprentice asked, grunting in annoyance as one of his back paws slipped in the mud, nearly sending him tumbling.

---

Nosinbg through the few scattered leaves of what remained of the tiny fresh-kill pile from the previous night, Falconwing sighed sadly at not ever the scent of a kill remained. The rain had washed it away. She been hoping to find at least something to give to Dawnflower, hating the though of a queen having to be even slightly hungry. She loved kits, and healthy kits came from healthy queens. Flicking her eyes to where a ginger and black pelt clashed, she huffed. At least Fallenbane is doing something right. She thought bitterly, normally bright, friendly green eyes slitted. And he better get something to offer. Turning, she padded to where Dawnflower was and nodded in greeting. "Some of the warriors are going to hunt, so there should be fresh-kill soon." She explained, still feeling bad for not finding anything. "How far off until the kits are born?" She asked curiously, hoping the queen did not mind her presence. "I can't wait to see them, it's been so long." Her eyes brightened considerably, remembering the last kits she'd been around where the one's she'd raised.

---

Opening one dull, sleep-filled amber eye as voices sounded in her sensitive ears, Scarlethaze itched to claw their muzzles. It was surly much to early to be waking. But looking up at the cloud filled sky the warrior sighed. Apperently it was time to wake. Stretching, claws digging into the ground and leaving behind grooves, the red warrior quickly smoothed down her sleep ragged fur. "How you this morning Midnightflower?" She asked, choppy words accented by places unknown. "Brokentail being problem?" She asked light-heartedly, getting to her paws and padded towards the normally anti-social cat. But she did not mind that quirk, if anything she prefered a cat that did not chat all the time, forcing her to speak a lot and risk messing up her words.

{I'm sorry for the delay; family medical emergency.}

Leopardwind prodded Rowanclaw lightly, dodging out of the way of a flashing paw just a heartbeat after. "Rise and shine~" the she-cat meowed brightly, nudging her friend again. This time Rowanclaw simply grunted and rolled over, his sandy pelt ruffled from a long night. Sighing Leopardwind poked her nose into his flank and then trotted off, flicking him over the head with her tail as a reminder to get up. Ears twitching she crawled out from under the bush that she, Rowanclaw and Dawnrush had chosen as their sleeping place. Dawnrush was already gone and her gray pelt was nowhere in sight. Padding across the small clearing she headed in the direction of Fallenbane's and Panthergaze's scents, hoping to join them in what seemed to be a hunt. Slipping through the bracken at the edge of the clearing she padded up behind Panthergaze, slipping between the black tom and Fallenbane. "Morning," she meowed cheerfully, shaking her head to rid the thick ruff of fur around her neck of rainwater.

--

Dawnrush licked her pelt self-conciously, looking around the clearing with a sigh. Every other cat seemed to have something to do, but to tell the truth the she-cat didn't want to go hunting or scouting ahead. What she really wanted to do was lie down in her old, familiar den surrounded by the scents of her clanmates. Grunting she pushed herself to her paws and trotted over to Robinstar, giving Starpaw a quick, sparing glance before looking at the leader. "Good morning," she meowed, her greeting quickly followed by a large yawn. "Who's up so far?"

--

Wavepelt ducked into the resting area for the Clans, her ocean-blue eyes darting around quickly before resting on a small cleared area near the center. Padding over to it slowly she opened her jaws and dropped a meagre offering of a single mouse onto the empty spot. "Dratted prey," she growled angrily, tempted to swat the scrawny mouse. Shaking her head the deputy came to her sense and simply covered the mouse with a leaf, sheltering it somewhat from the pouring rain. Wandering over to the largest group of cats, which happened to have Robinstar right in the center of it, Wavepelt meowed a brief hello and settled down in the mud, licking at a splotch of the offending dirt that spotted her flanks.

--

Sweetpaw yawned, blinking her deep blue eyes groggily. Peering out of her hastily put together shelter the small apprentice groaned at the dark gray sight that met her, lighter gray raindrops pattering down and turning the earth at her paws to grimy mud. Shaking her pale cream fur the she-cat sighed and crept through the bracken, shaking herself to get rid of all the water that had fallen off of the leaves above her. "By StarClan," Sweetpaw muttered grumpily when a big droplet burst on her right ear, the water dripping down and into her eye.

Flicking his tail irritably as the fur matted together and weighed down the limb, Fallenbane scowled up at the sky. Busy cursing the pouring rain, the ginger tom did not realize another cat had joined them until she spoke, spooking him into yelping with surprise. Whirling around on Leopardwind crossly, Fallenbane narroed his eyes. "I'd be polite if i'd not lost six moons of my life in fright, but seeing as now i'm going to die that much yunger because of you i'm going to ask what you think your doing?" He growled, lips curled up testily, flicking excess water off of his ears. Looking over the she-cat shoulder as Panthergaze snickered, the older cat only hissed in response. "Don't mind him Leopardwind." The black cat meowed cheerily. "He's growly this morning. Your more then welcome to hunt if you'd like."

---

Flattening his large ears against his head, Starpaw haunched his shoulders in slight dejection as Dawnrush over looked him. It was fairly normal, but knowing that even though he was medicine cat apprentice his brother, a normal apprentice, got more recognition from warriors still stung. He'd give his right front paw to be able to become a warrior, to train and hunt for the clan. Instead he was stuck sticking his nose into prickly bushes all day to get their berries and leaves. Keeping his eyes on the ground, he itched to bolt to where ever Greenfeather had decided to take off to. But Robinstar had not dismissed him.

---

Smirking as his den mate cursed because of a droplet of water, Silentpaw padded over to the only other Streamclan apprentice. Keeping his paws picked up high so not to sling mud, the tabby apprentice stopped beside Sweetpaw and tried to find a place to sit down. Of course nothing was dry so he opted to stand. "Think our mentors will have time to train us today?" He asked tonlessly, not used to starting conversations. But he was bored and his menotr nowhere in sight. "Or are they going to force us to travel in this darned rain?"

"You got to keep your wits about you," Leopardwind meowed cheekily, then ducked her head in mock respect. "Look on the bright side. Now we get some exercise because all the prey around this area's been scared off by your yowling." Purring the roguish she-cat ducked out of Fallenbane's reach and nodded at Panthergaze. "Thanks for allowing me," she mewed honestly, "but even if Fallenbane had expressively ordered me back to camp I'm sure you know that I'd still be right here where I am now." Flicking her tail she lifted her head and sniffed the air, but only got a noseful of damp moss and dirt for her troubles.

--

"You look antsy today," Wavepelt commented, gazing at Starpaw sharply. The deputy sent a scathing look at Dawnrush, but couldn't falt the she-cat. After all, warriors never had much to do with medicine cat apprentices unless they were injured, and even then they would almost always turn to Greenfeather. "Don't take it to heart when warriors ignore you," Wavepelt meowed softly in Starpaw's ear, ducking slightly to reach his level. "They can be harebrained at times. And I'm sure you're coming along just fine. Remind me to check up with Greenfeather on your progress."

--

"I bet they're going to teach us the virtues of hunting in rain -none- and make us slog through patches of marshland filled with frogspawn and water," Sweetpaw grumbled, licking her paw and swiping at the offending droplet of water in annoyance. The normally upbeat she-cat was in an especially uncharitable mood and it took some arguing with herself not to take it out on poor Silentpaw. "Which I'm sure is going to go up to our noses, or over my head." Shaking her head with a sigh the she-cat brushed past Silentpaw and waved her tail. "We might as well see if there's any prey to be found at least," she meowed.

Twitching slightly at Leopardwind's rebute, Fallenbane took a gentle swat at her ear. But it almost seeemd like she knew he'd been planning on doing and ducked out of the way. His paw instead p*censored*ed just thorugh Panthergaze's fur. "You could use a little pysical excersie." He grumbled, scenting the air as well. "Forces you to use your leg muscles so then maybe your mouth one's would shut up." He shot back, a small smile playing on his muzzle. He'd never admit it, but sometime's he enjoyed simple times likes these. Not the journey, but rather being with somone he'd not mind to call a friend and just semi-goofing off. Of course if Robinstar found out it would be his fur. "And I have no authority to send you anyhwere." He shrugged, padding through a few bushes where he hoped to catch a prey scent. About to give up on the bushed his eyes fell on a small mouse trying to crack open a seed. The emaciated animal was so caught up in it's food it did not notice the warrior sneaking up on it until it was to late. "All this time and only one scrawny mouse." He muttered.

---

Looking up at the deputy as she she-cat spoke, Starpaw flushed. Was his sudden misery that obvious? He really hoped not. He did not want to be seen as weak, even though it was true. "Oh, er Greenfeather disappear earlier and I was just worreid about him." He lied easily, having become good at it. "And I know how warriors are and understand. I do not mind it, honestly. It just gets," He tipped his head to the side, trying to think of a right word to exress himself without looking like a kit wailing for attention. "Lonley." He finally concluded, nodding his head. "But you must have lots of cats to talk to, being deputy." He meowed, looking up at her with slight awe. "Is it not amazing, having all the others looking up to you with respect?"

---

Whiskers twitching in slight annoyance at being ordered around by another apprentice, Silentpaw wondered if he should follow or tell her to fall into a muddy puddle. Finally, after a quick look around and nothing else to do he followed reluctantly, catching up to her with long strides. "What crawled in your fur and died?" He asked tonlessly, looking for any signs of prey. "Your more snappy then normal, though i'm not complaining."

"Thats wonderful Starpaw!" Robinstar mewed happily, "What is it used for?" he asked already knowing. He sighed at the young tom's question, "Yes, more travels today, hopefully soon we can find a new home for all the clans." The large cat shook his head, the worries for all the cats invading his brain.

"How you this morning Midnightflower?" She heard a female voice behind her. "Brokentail being problem?" She turned her head towards the voice, and saw a fellow warrior, Scarlethaze. "Well he's being himself I'll tell you that." Midnighflower said playfully turning her gaze towards her giant brother then back to Scarlethaze.

Brokentail shook his head and flicked her with his bent tail. He looked towards the other feline. "Good morning to you too Scarlethaze." he said.

Starpaw scruntched his nose up slightly, thinking. "You have to mix it with junpier berries so it creates a poultice that helps with aching joints." He meowed softly, looking at Robinstar expectintly."Though it has a awful smell." He added as a quiet after thought, rolling his blue eyes. "I don't mind the travelling to much, except for the hunger." Shrugging, the ill-little tom looked over as Silentpaw as his brother padded past while saying something to Sweetpaw.
---
Smiling slightly, she gave Brokentail a amused look. "Pain-in-the-tail?" She asked curiously, lifting one large paw and licking it. "Like most toms." She mused, nodding in greeting back. "Did not realize you awake Brokentail. I'd have said something."

"Technically speaking you do," Leopardwind pointed out, her tail twitching as she sniffed the air again. "Being a senior warrior and all that." Narrowing her eyes the she-cat let out a satisfied purr when the faint scent of rabbit drifted over her scent glands. "Shh," she murmured softly, though mostly to herself, and ducked forwards, her muscles shifting under her spotted pelt. Creeping forwards on light paws Leopardwind bunched up the muscles in her hindlegs and sprang, snaking under a bracken bush and flashing her paw out. Her claws snagged rough fur and Leopardwind growled, dragging out a flailing rabbit. Not her best kill, but then, she was just a hairlength too large to fit into the bush. Nipping the back of her prey's neck Leopardwind let it flop on the ground, looking at the rabbit with a keen eye. "A bit scrawny, but good enough," she muttered with a sigh.

--

"Sure, I guess," Wavepelt meowed with an indifferent shrug. "But it also means I have a lot of responsability and cats are often looking up to me for guidance. It'll be the same once you're medicine cat. Never a day's rest. And I'm quite positive that Robinstar feels the same pressure...right?" Giving the leader a quick look Wavepelt let out a small mrowr of laughter. Shifting on her paw Wavepelt stood up and glanced around. "Want to look for Greenfeather with me? I need to get this cut on my paw cleaned again anyways."

--

"Nothing's in my fur," Sweetpaw sighed, stopping in her tracks and glaring at the mud sloshing around her paws. "I'm just upset about this whole journey and the hunger and cold and rain." Sighing she licked her flank self-conciously. "Sorry about taking it out on you. I'm in a terrible mood, just ignore me or whatever."

"Pain-in-the-tail? Like most toms." Midnightflower laughed slightly at that, which was not something she did often often, altough she would laugh at Brokentails expense. He shook his head, and shot her a look. Sure she was being nice, for once, but she wasn't being nice to him. although he knew it was all jokes.

"Did not realize you awake Brokentail. I'd have said something."Scarlethaze said, speaking again, this time to him. He turned her attention back to her. "Of course you would, Scarlethaze." He said rolling his orange eyes. "Like you would not notice a large grey cat sitting next to this mean one here." He mused looking over at his sister who gve him one of her glared and a swat in the ear. Which, he figured, was all she dared to do with other cats around.

Fallenbane rolled his eyes at the comment. He sat down, one paw on his prey as he watched the younger warrior go after her rabbit, amber eyes scanning the area. Panthergaze suddenly pricked hisears and dissappeared, lithe body low to the ground and tail tip twitching. The senior warrior figured his former apprentice was going after his own kill, as intent as he was. Little could make the light hearted Panthergaze concentrate like food. "A bit scrawny, but good enough," Tipping his head over so he could look at Leopardwind over his shoulder, he eyed the kill. "Alot better then what we had before." He meowed. "It will feed Dawnrush." He added as a fter thought. "And ever if I was senior warrior, no cat respects me enough to listen." Grabbing his mouse he started back towards the camp, tail low due to the streaming water.

---

Listening to Wavepelt speak, Starpaw nodded his head, eyes wide. "It is a lot of responsibility, but in the end it is always worth it right?" He meowed, getting to his shakey paws and padding closer. "I want cats to resepct me, not look down on me." He hated the sympathy most gave him, or the distance they put because he was not exactly like them. "I can look at your paw if you'd like. Greenfeather taught me how to look after minor cuts." He smiled up at her, tail tip twitching in delight. If the deputy thought him capable enough to work as a medicine cat apprentice, then perhaps the other cats would.

---

Silentpaw scoffed and cuffed her shoulder good naturdly. It was not everyday to see Sweetpaw in a bad mood. "I'v heard worse." He mused, sniffing through the undergrowth. "The temper is expected in these kinds of situations, particurally with our bellies yowling at us."

---

Scarlethaze gave Brokentail a slightly hurt look, ears startinhg to flatten against her thin head. "I would have; I thought you asleep." She persisted. "I not like Fallenbane, snapping at every cat. Right?" She turned her question to Midnightflower, still trying to get used to the whole clan life thing.

{Fail for Silentpaw and Scarlethaze...}

"We all respect you," Leopardwind meowed cheerfully, picking up her rabbit and dragging it along after Fallenbane. "But we all know you're really a soft furball so we tease you a lot." Flicking her ears in amusement the she-cat paused and dropped her rabbit, glancing behind her. "Panthergaze?" she meowed cautiously, seeing no sign of the ebony tom. Sighing she settled down to wait for him, her tail flicking from side to side impatiently. Waiting had never been her strong point.

[Fail for Leoparwind. :C]

--

"If you want people to respect you let them see you that way through your actions, not your appearance. Like you said, respect and reputation is worth it, but it's definitely tiring and you have to get past your...limitations. I don't know how many days I've had to force myself out of my nest when all I wanted to do was sleep in." Meowing good-naturedly Wavepelt lifted her paw and glared at it, a comic look on her face. "If you did that I'd be grateful," she mewed, purring lightly. Shifting her weight Wavepelt turned the offending bodypart upwards, revealing a semi-healed cut that was still red and raw. "I think it's worse," she grumbled, shaking it angrily.

[I can't post more. Dx]

--

Spider shivered, his ebon pelt fluffed up to ward off the chill of the rain. Shaking his head to get rid of the gathering water droplets and moisture the skinny tom-cat slunk through the undergrowth, dark gray eyes flickering from side to side anxiously, waiting for signs of another cat. He had been trailing the group for a small while, watching them carefully from a distance and wondering what they were doing here. Having no knowledge of the 'Clans' or anything of that sort the rogue was not suspicious, only curious. Padding forwards, his pelt soaked by the raindrops filtering through the tree cover, Spider lifted his head and sniffed, the scent of a few cats flooding through his mouth. None of them smelled particularly healthy, but Spider couldn't be sure if they were part of the group or fearsome rogues. Sticking his head through the bramble Spider gave a mew of surprise as he saw a black tom much like him just a few pawsteps away.

--

"And right now mine's telling me to get some prey into it," Sweetpaw meowed, her eyes crinkling with amusement. "Let's go see if any of the warriors have brought some back. If not, I guess Bloodmask an' Leopardwind are going to send us hunting. Not that I've seen either yet." Shaking her fur and fluffing it up against the wind the small she-cat bounded ahead, feeling cheerful enough now to ignore the dark brown mud staining her cream paws.

Brokentail turned his attention back to Scarlethaze who was still insisting about how she would have said goodmorning if she knew he was awake. She looked genuinly hurt. He guessed she didn't catch on to the fact that he was just joking around with her. "I not like Fallenbane, snapping at every cat. Right?" She said, her ears a bit flattened against her head.

Midnight shook her head, a bit surprised by the question. "No, absolutely not, if anything I'm more like Fallenbane than you are." She said looking at the she-cat. "Yeah, definately." Brokentail said nodding in agreement with his sister, who in turn shot him one of her glares, which he ignored.

Robinstar smiled, "Weel I'm glad you're learning so much Starpaw" the smile faded to a slight frown, "And Starpaw, I also don't like the hunger, hopefully the place we arrivea at tonight will be more prey-rich" He shook his heavy head as he spoke to the young tom

~~

Jadewing padded up to where Scarlethaze, Brokentail, and Midnightflower sat and smiled. "Hi" she mewed softly, shewas shy, and despite al thetime she'd spent with the clan she still didn't feel one hundred per cent comfortable. She felt like they would judge her for not being clan born, "What are you guys talking about?'

~

Troutsplash yawned as he walked over to Robinstar. He quickly asked him, "Can I go hunting?" the leader nodded in reply, then added, "Bring someone with you." Troutsplash nodded and loped off. He padded over and saw Wavepelt, "Want to come hunting with me? Robinstar told me to go with someone." He asked her politely, a smile playing onhis muzzle.
