[DawnClan Cats] Applesong's tail swished as she sorted the herbs, muttering to herself softly. She tugged back when a pungent scent struck her nose. She moved the drab borage leaves and stared with horror at the death berries. How in Starclan did they get in there? She tossed them into the dirtplace, behind her den. She stepped back and admired her work, each herb in its own pile, sorted by scent. Satisfyed, she trotted out of the medicine cat's den, almost bumping into Crystalstar. "Oh, my mistake, I wasn't watching" Applesong stuttered, feeling small and inexperienced compared to the leader. Hailtwist plucked a rabbit out of the fresh kill pile and dropped it next to Dragonfly, one of his good friends. "How are you today Dragonfly?" he asked casually. He didn't take a bite out of the rabbit. His stomach was still upset from when he accidentally swallowed a death berry, and Applesong made him eat yarrow. He shivered in disgust when he remembered the taste of bile in his mouth as he threw up the death berries. He would have to eat sometime though. Heronstrike snored lazily in his den, a lump of fur rising and falling steadily in sleep. [Duskclan Cats] Ashflight and Minnowfoot were grooming each other near the tiny waterfall in the camp, still tired from the exhausting evening patrol that Greyfang had put them through, not even time to hunt. Minnowfoot's belly growled and he stood up. "I think I'll go hunting" he decided, leaving Ashflight almost asleep under the waterfall. He trotted into the sunning area of the camp and saw Greyfang. "Is it all right if I went hunting?" he asked hopefully. Gladestar sat in her den, her tail flicking slightly every few seconds to show that she wasn't sleeping. She was resting. The camp was quiet this morning, despite the border battle not one day before. Most cats had emerged unscathed, if not carrying minor injuries. Her shoulder wound stung, but she let it be. It was good to relax.

{DawnClan} Dragonfly carefully picked at her sparrow, and smiled happily at Hailtwist. "Quite good, Hailtwist." Dragonfly had easily caughttwomice, a quial and a squirrel today, so she had had quite a hunt. "How's your stomache?" Dragonfly asked sympathetically. She thought swallowing a death berry would be the worst luck. Eyuck! Having to eat yarrow, after eating those berries? Her stomache just wasn't to up to that. She'd always had quite a light stomache, and she often pucked hairballs. She'd tryed eating gr*censored*, but it didn't work for her. Flamepaw and Blazepaw had a plan, and their target was Dragonfly. They loved playing jokes on her because Flamepaw and Blazepaw both actually quite liked her. They planned to put a maggot on a sparrow, and give it to her. They had put the maggot in, and they were heading towards her. "Want it?" They asked symaultaniuosly. "No jokes, right?" Dragonfly asked. "No tricks." They then started giggling. "Okay, I'll eat it." She took a big gulp. She tasted a funny taste in her mouth. "What did you do?.." She asked slowly. Flamepaw and Blazepaw looked at eachother. "Umm, random question; are maggots bad for you to eat?" There was a small silence, then Dragonfly exploded. "YOU MADE ME EAT A MAGGOT?!!!" She exploded. "Umm, yes..." Flamepaw said. "Do you think you should see Applesong?" Flamepaw hoped Dragonfly wasn't hurt. "I think I should, just in case." She headed to Applesong's den. "Applesong?" Dragonfly asked. "Flamepaw and Blazepaw made me swallow a maggot. Is that bad? If so, is there anything to help?"

Frostpaw's pale green eyes flickered from side to side as she followed the movement of a starling above her. The dark bird was weaving among the branches on wings of midnight, obviously protecting a nest. Bonus. The young she-cat's tail flicked impatiently at the thought of fresh eggs, and after a moment she got to her paws and slinked towards the tree.
It was a tall pine, though the multiple branches sticking out around it's length made her job easier. To any normal apprentice, this task would have been daunting, but to Frostpaw it came naturally. She loved being high above the ground, and knew that's where her talent- exceptional agility and balance- were needed.
She tensed, then leapt up to the first branch, using her long claws to steady herself against the rough bark. She barely paused a moment before jumping up to the next branch, then the next, and again.
The bird had noticed her presence. It shrieked at her and settled on the rim of it's nest, beady eyes trained on her. It didn't fly away; instead, it tried to protect it's unhatched young. Frostpaw advanced carefully on the branch, barely a few feet from the bird and it's eggs. The apprentice stilled, then lashed out with the unexpectedness of an adder. Her claws caught on the bird's wing as it tried to flee, and she silenced it's calls with a sharp bite to the neck. Grasping the prey in her jaw, she gave the nest a shove, and it rushed towards the ground. None of the eggs were damaged too badly; a crack on the edge, maybe, since they had landed on the cushioned bottom of the nest.
Frostpaw glanced skyward, and decided it was time to return, prey and all. Her a.ssessment was over, and hopefully the amount- and variety- she had caught would coax a compliment out of Dogstrike. A starling, three eggs, two shrews and a squirrel. Frostpaw left the starling buried with the others so she could return to collect them. The nest couldn't wait though, and she dragged it back to camp first.
~
"Dostrike?" Frostpaw called, poking her head into the warrior's den. She searched the bundles of fur, trying to pick out her mentor's pelt.

Crystalstar felt and saw Applesong bump into her, but didn't say anything and instead just smiled. She wasn't the kind of cat who screams and makes a big deal out of something that isn't important; like bumping by accident. Unless they were from Duskclan. If they were, she would likely attempt to shred them to pieces, but then again, she doesn't make big deals out of things so she'd just threaten to kill them if they don't go back to their clan. She realized that she had been sitting in one spot thinking about Duskclan, and immediately got up. She didn't want to just stay sitting there all day in silence, doing nothing but planning revenge on Duskclan. Her paws lightly scraped the sand (since it's near water i'm supposing it's sand) as she walked, and she sat down near the water, staring at her reflection. Her clear blue eyes, slightly altered in the reflection due to the water's movements, stared back up at her. She dipped her paw in the water and moved it around a little, making the waters movements change. Her eyes in the reflection stretched to the right, then to the left, and right again, making a wobbly motion. She then walked away, the thought of Duskclan still haunting her. But she knew being stressed or worried wasn't good, so she forced the thought out of her mind and looked forward to the rest of the day. Then the thought of sneaking into Duskclan and killing some of their cats sneaked into her mind, but she forced that one out too. Her blue eyes were staring at the sand now, and she looked behind her, noticing all her footprints. They weren't deep, though, and not too visible. After all, she was walking lightly. Crystalstar continued walking, each step taking her farther from the water. But it was pretty much everywhere, so she was also getting closer to another nearby source of water. She went up to Hailtwist and his friends. She wanted to talk, she didn't enjoy being lonely. She smiled, having finally not thinking about Duskclan and returning to her normal self. She usually didn't drift off. "Everything alright?" She asked. She had heard that Hailtwist swallowed a deathberry. Applesong helped him, but she just wanted to double check. "I hope the deathberry isn't still bothering you." She didn't really have much to say, but she wanted to talk. "And keep an eye out for Duskclan. If they cross our border I trust you can fight them, our clan is powerful."

[DawnClan] "These kits just made poor Dragonfly swallow a maggot!" Hailtwist hissed angrily, glaring at the two apprentices, his fur ruffled madly. "Is this your idea of some sick kind of joke?" he growled, this time directed at the two apprentices, not Crystalstar. "Dragonfly could die because of this!" he snapped. Applesong sighed coolly. "That is quite enough of that." she said. "You two should be ashamed of yourselves, Blazepaw, Flamepaw." Applesong put her paw to Dragonfly's neck. "Don't swallow anymore, it is still in your throat. I know you have a weak stomach, so I'll just rub some mouse bile on your nose so that you hack it up. Maggots aren't too harmful, and they don't eat you unless you're dying or dead." Applesong said. "But they will cause near endless stomachaches until they p*censored*." [Duskclan] Dogstrike's tail twitched in slight irritation. "You're back from your *censored*essment I see," he said, a hint of a growl in his voice, as always. "I watched you, as I m meant to, and climbing that tree to get to the bird's nest was very reckless." he said "And what in Starclan's name are we going to do with those eggs?" he said, a scolding tone.

Dragonfly frowned. "Yuck, mouse-bile is even worse than yarrow!" She then looked at Hailtwist. "Hey, now we're even!" She said, laughing. Flamepaw loked shamefully at Dragonfly and said "Sorry'bout that. We just thought you would bite it, but not eat the maggot..." Blazepaw added, "Does this mean we have to clean the elders dirt as well as... hmm," He recited the jobs they had to do for the elders. "Hunt for them, change their moss, look for ticks and fleas on them, and groom their fur?" Dragonfly answered what Flamepaw said first. "It's okay. At least you said something about it." She then turned to Blazepaw, tail swishing. "I hope so!" She hissed. Damselfly rushed to the medicine den once she had heard what had happened. "Is she going to be okay?" She asked, alarmed. "Yes, I'll be fine." Dragonfly said. She knew her mother cared for her deeply, as she was the only kit Damselfly had and ever could have. "Oh. Good." Damselfly sighed. "I'm betting it was those two?" She asked, glaring at the two apprentices. "Yes, it was them again." Damselfly muttered, "I'll tell Crystalstar she should give them extra duties, like clean the elders dirt!"

Crystal sighed in disappointment. "When will those two learn?" She said, now shaking her head in disappointment too. Pranks aren't cool, they're pointless, stupid, and immature. They might be funny to the people who did it, but the poor person who fell for the prank usually is hurt; either by emotions or actually hurt, like maybe having a few broken bones. ((-fail-))

((lol, you forgot 'star' in Crystalstar's name XDDDDD)) Applesong left and returned quickly with the mouse bile, without warning, smacking it directly onto Dragonfly's muzzle and holding it there for a second. Then, without warning, she turned around and smacked Blazepaw in the face with the mouse bile, followed by Flamepaw. "I think that's enough punishment, don't you?" Applesong purred, rubbing the remainder of the bile off of her paw and into the sand. Hailtwist shuddered in disgust.

"Oh god, I tihnk I'm sick..." Dragonfly hurled a hairball the size of Flamepaw's head. Flamepaw and Blazepaw wrinkled there noses. "Eyuck!" They snorted out the bile, and ran out of the clearing into the apprentice's den. "Thanks Applesong." She purred. She then looked at hailtwist. "Want to go hunting? I bet it'll get the taste out of my mouth!"

((full- They're not in Applesong's den. If you read her first post, you'd know that she's in the camp clearing because she bumped into Crystalstar. Then you went to her, so therefor, you are in the camp clearing, not the medicine den.))

Frostpaw rolled her eyes. "What do you think, mousebrain? There's an unborn chick in each one. They're not just all goo anymore. I can smell it." She sat on her haunches and curled her tail around her paws, the tip twitching periodically. She regarded him for a moment, then stood, her ears flattened slightly. "Come on, help me drag it all back." She said, not bothering to give him a choice in the matter. She turned and stalked off. Much as she and her mentor were both the grumpy, harsh kind, she did like him. He was like a father to her. Or what she thought a father would be like, anyway.

[Duskclan] Dogsrtike snorted. "These eggs are worthless, no cat will want to eat this mess." he growled, kicking dust onto the nest as he trotted back to where she buried the other prey. His yellow eyes glinted with frustration. "You need to learn not to waste your time on difficult prey when easy ones are right under your muzzle, begging to be killed. You'll never be a warrior if climb every tree in the Starclan forsaken forest to find bird eggs! Not to mention falling and losing a limb yourself!" Ashflight trotted up to Greyfang with a weak smile. "Hey, Greyfang, do you know where Lionpaw is? I've been looking for him all day for battle training" she said softly. "I was planning on bringing Minnowfoot with me too to better demonstrate" [Dawnclan] Hailtwist purred in amusement. "I'm just glad Applesong caught it in time, you would moan to no end if the maggot got into your system" he teased, light-heartedly. "Let's go, the fresh-kill pile is low." He hesitated at the camp entrance, but then carried on. Just friends. He told himself sternly.

((Naww, has Hailtwist got a crush? ;3)) Lionpaw padded into the clearing, just in time to hear his name. "Y-yes?" He asked. "W-what do you want me to do?"

Frostpaw shoved some dirt away from the smaller prey and managed to grab tree in her maw. She couldn't speak with her mouth full, but shot Dogstrike a scathing glance as she brushed past him. She carried the prey back to camp without a glance backward, dropping the prey in the pile with the others. The stash was looking good; the Clan certaintly wouldn't go hungry. This Newleaf looked to be promising. She bounded back into the forest, her jaw set with determination. If Dogstrike didn't like the way she had done her a.ssessment, she would do it again until she had it right.
