Fernseed padded up to her two new apprentices. I couldn’t handle one last time, what am I thinking? They were mumbling about death berries, or something along those lines. Walking up behind them she saw why. “That isn’t yew, or death berries as they are most commonly called.” She meowed softly, “That is Yarrow. Its smell is much the same, so Nightpaw beware.” Licking her front paw she swiped it over her ear to relieve an itch. “Both of you should be working on making a nest.” She rumbled, “Both of you napping tomorrow will not help me. I need both of you rested and ready to learn. I will quiz you on what you know. I will work from there.” Gazing at Gentlepaw, but talking to them both, she meowed, “Off to your nests.”

Cheetahwind heard Midnightpaws voice. "Here! In the hole!" He yowled. Midnightpaws voice was faint, but close. He couldn't smell her, as the stench of badger masked it. "Look for the... trail of blood!" His leg was bleeding badly, and he felt emptyness, or fuzziness in his head. "H-help..."

"Okay Fernseed..." meowed Nightpaw.  I can't do anything right... she thought as she made her nest. "Goodnight Gentlepaw," she meowed and drifted off to sleep.

Fernseed could help but notice Nightpaw looked a bit discouraged. Am I being too hard on them? With a sigh of exasperation, Fernseed padded into her cool nest. It was a calming night but she felt some instinct warning her. What could it be warning me about? Circling around in her moss nest, Fernseed finally relaxed for the night. The whole day her neck had been tense with worry. Thinking about whether or not the clan would accept her having two apprentices. Closing her golden eyes, Fernseed hoped that StarClan didn’t have any pressing messages for her to receive. I haven’t slept well lately, she thought.

(Meanwhile))

Ashfoot padded forward cautiously, he didn’t want to frighten the other tom but Midnightpaw was close behind him. Bending down he whispered, “Tell him that I won’t hurt him, I’m here to help.” He watched the little ebony kit nod.

“Cheetahwind…” she meowed but stopped soon. “What is your name?”

Ashfoot mewed, “Ashfoot, I’m called Ashfoot.”

Midnightpaw crept forward near a hole, that looked like it belonged to a fox long ago, and peeked in. “Cheetahwind, there is another tom here to help.” She mewed, “His name is Ashfoot. He’s coming to get you.” I’m so much help. I hope that Cheetahwind still wants me when this is over. I’ve been an apprentice one night and I’ve already failed it seems.

Oblivious to the kits worries, Ashfoot crawled into the den. His medium-long fur blocked out most of the light but that didn’t bother him. Ashfoot had brilliant eyesight. “Hello there warrior,” he mewed, “I’m here to help.” Reaching forward he grabbed a mouthful of Cheetahwind’s scruff. Gently pulling the other tom out into the open, Ashfoot got a real good look at his wound. It was bleeding him out quickly and he needed to take action, now! “Kit, don’t move away from him.” He meowed sternly. Before the kit even obliged, Ashfoot was already dashing into the trees. Sniffing around the low branches he found a poppy steam. Biting off the top he cradled the seeds in his mouth. Finding some cobweb on the way, Ashfoot wrapped some around his front paw and loped back to the two cats. Dropping the seeds in front of Cheetahwind, Ashfoot began to place cobwebs in the worse of the wounds. When he was done Ashfoot asked, “Would you like help getting back to your camp?” I would follow anyway, just to be sure, he thought.

Patchpelt was curled in her nest. She felt completely comfortable, yet she was unable to sleep. Opening her eyes she looked around her. The surroundings were all soft, dull hues. Mild blues, greens, and a variety of grays, but most of the colors were obscured by black. Her eyes were droopy with sleep but they were not tired enough for sleep. I hope that nothing is going wrong. Why else could I not sleep? Shaking her head briskly, Patchpelt decided that the vole that she had eaten was giving her trouble. Getting to her paws, Patchpelt was about to leave when she saw Kestrelheart. She couldn’t tell whether the tom was sleeping or not because his back was to her. Sneaking forward until she was next to him, Patchpelt peeked over his side to look at his face. All the muscles were relaxed in sleep. His amber eyes were closed, his whiskers twitched gently in sleep, and his breath came in a steady rhythm. Wanting to have the same peace of mind, she curled up beside him. Her calico pelt mingling with his. Feeling his steady heartbeat made Patchpelt relax and begin to drift into sleep. I wonder where Cheetahwind is…was her last thought as rest pulled her into its clutches.

Rainfeather starred at Raveneyes. "What? that scratch is deep enough, just ignoring it will make it infected. Just go to Fernseed and PLEASE tell the truth." she meowed, she walked away, "Leopardheart, I would like to go to fireclan, to Talk to Blackfang." she meowed. "I need some important information she holds."

((AWKWARD SIELENCE......... LOL Rainfeather doesn't know blackfang is dead. ;)   ))

Featherkit jumped on Larkit, she dug her claws from the bottom of her jaw to her Ears, "GARAAR!" she mowed whitche ment 'I hate you.' Larkkit stood up to hit her but Featherkit turned and bucked her face sending her flying into the nursery wall. She smirked and padded back to Eaglestar.

"You know," meowed Redstorm, "Rainfeather did that exact thing when she was a kit, I have a scarr behing my ear from her." Redstorm let out a purr of amusment, "Featherkit, go to the corner, now." he mwoed sternly. Featherkits tail drooped and she walked into the corner and gave Redstorm Evil stares.

((I like how 5 day old kits have an aditude of a fox XD  ))

Larkkit scrreched as her sister scratched her face. Crawling over to her mom she siad, "I cans" which was "I cant see" the reason for this was mostly because she coud open her eyes.

(Yes shes a failure XDD))

Raveneyes flicked his tail at her and dshed off to the medicine den. When he arrived he saw Fernseed and mewed, "Hi can Iyou look at my wound? I was attacked"

Eaglestar chuckled at Redstorm and looked down at the screeching kit. She ran her tail dowwn the dappled kits body and licked her scratches befiore turning to Redstorm and saying, "Go get Fernseed. They aren't deep but they ocould get infected considering how savagethey are."

Kestrelheart awoke with someone pressed against him. He knew he should get up but yet he didn't want to. For the first time in almost a mooneverything was peaceful. He heard Larkkits screeech, well almost everything.

Opening one topaz eye, Leopardheart looked up at Rainfeather. So much for sleep, he thought. blinking both eyes, Leopardheart noted that the sky was a hazy blue. The sun had yet to breach dawn, but it would soon come. I can sleep later, he mused, though after my talk with Rainfeather, I will go relieve Swiftdarkness from his post. Still weary from the fox attack, he had set the senior warrior up to guard the camp that night. Leopardheart had taken this post for the past eight days but decided to get some needed rest this night. “Rainfeather, I would like to talk to you about Blackfang. Follow me please,” he meowed. Walking out of the warriors den the pair ended up in a secluded corner of the camp. “I want you to understand that my actions were to keep the clan safe, my actions are always for the clan’s safety. I killed Blackfang the day she came to our camp.” He sat quietly after finishing, waiting for Rainfeather’s response.

Ashfoot watched the spotted warrior wobble like a kit. With unease prickling at this neck, he walked forward and braced the other tom. Just a glance at the ebony kit brought her forward. She is a bright kit, makes me with that I could find a mate. Shaking his head sadly, Ashfoot chided himself. I have no right, whishing these things. After all that I’ve done. Never should I spread my blood any further than it already is. Thinking about his lost sister hurt him. Ashfoot missed the ginger she-cat, but her heart didn’t agree with clan life. Her soul was for peace, not pointless boundary fights. In some ways, Ashfoot agreed with her, but he also knew that without territories the clan life would diminish. Cheetahwind stumbled again, so Ashfoot pressed closer. “Little one, I have yet to know your name, what is it you’re called?” he asked to pa.ss the time. Though he had never been to the heart of IceClan, he knew by scent that it was in this general direction.

“My name is Midnightpaw,” she meowed quietly, her head held low. “I got it this night.”

Ashfoot knew why she was sad now. On her first night, she had failed her mentor. “The name is a pretty one, matches the owner.” He watched her fidget under his praise. What a cute little kit, he thought. They walked the natural bend in the path, ducked under some leaves, and straightened out to see the camp. The entrance was just wide enough for Ashfoot to stay by Cheetahwind, so he did. The blackberry burrs prickled his pelt, causing involuntary twitches when it snagged, but he stayed a constant support for the other warrior. Walking in, Ashfoot was a bit uncomfortable. I hope they don’t automatically think I attacked Cheetahwind. “Midnightpaw, please lead me to the medicine cat den.” He meowed. After a quick nod, she trotted ahead about a tail length to guide him. He spotted the den; no harm had come to them yet, and thanked Midnightpaw for guiding him though she didn’t leave them. As Ashfoot walked Cheetahwind into the den he heard a young, weary she-cat meowing, “Raveneyes, you need to be more careful!” Padding a bit further in, Ashfoot saw an empty nest and pushed Cheetahwind, surprisingly, easily into it. Meowing, “Cheetahwind needs your care quickly. He is greatly hurt.”

Fernseed had just used the last of the horsetail leaves on Raveneyes. I know he won’t get an infection, but I hope that he will learn from the pain to stay out of trouble. I still wonder where he got that gash from…The thought quickly left her when she heard about another injured cat. Trotting over to where the strange meow came from, Fernseed was distracted for only a moment because the second she saw Cheetahwind’s wounds she was a medicine cat. The stranger will be dealt with later. Now I have to help a cat in need. “Nightpaw, and Gentlepaw, could you both come here.” She meowed, “I need you, Nightpaw, to check Cheetahwind for a fever.” Looking at Gentlepaw, she meowed, “I need you to get some cobwebs from the storage.” Mumbling, “I need to get some chervil leaves, goldenrod, and feverfew.” She created the concoction; it stops bleeding quicker than cobwebs, relieves muscle pains, and prevents infection. The wonderful thing was, these herbs, and plants were plentiful. After chewing all of them together she put the paste in front of Cheetahwind, and ordered kindly, “Eat this.” Looking at Nightpaw she asked, “Does he have a fever?” While taking the cobwebs form Gentlepaw and replacing the older ones with the new. Who ever this scarlet tom is, if he hadn’t placed these cobwebs on Cheetahwind I don’t think he would make it. He would have bled out before I could do anything.

Gentlepaw rushed to select some cobweb from the storage. "Goh eht!" She yowled. She pushed it down on Cheetahwinds wound. He winced. "Don't squirm."
Cheetahwind stared at Gentlepaw. Who...?? He looked at Nightpaw, not understanding where he was. But then a name popped into his mind.... "....... Patchpelt.....here?"

Fernseed looked into Cheetahwind's eyes. They looked normal enough, just a lot of blood loss. A days rest, or ever two, will be good enough for a full recovery. "Thank you, Gentlepaw," Fernseed meowed. "Easy on the pressure though, you might open the wound again. That stranger is who we need to thank. If not for him, I don't know what I could do for Cheetahwind." Looking over at the strange red tom, Fernseed meowed, "I think you should meet Leopardheart or Eaglestar." Motioning with her tail to Midnightpaw, Fernseed meowed, "Show him to either one, please."

Nodding to Fernseed, Midnightpaw lead Ashfoot to Eaglestar's den. "Eaglestar?" she mewed nervously. "Somecat is here for you..." Looking up at Ashfoot, Midnightpaw felt sad for what happened with her mentor. I hope he gets better...

Patchpelt rolled onto her other side, effectively whamping her paw in Kestrelheart's face. Blinking slowly, she yawned, and stretched her legs in all directions. Sighing peacefully, she looking into Kestrelheart's eyes. The tom was watching her. Her eyes opened wider in shock and she blinked a few times quickly. "Uh..." was all she managed to meow, her pelt growing hot with embarra.ssment. Pulling her paws back to herself, she got to her feet. Her ears swiveled back then forward in discomfort. "Sorry about that..." she stammered, "I was asleep and...I'm sorry." Patchpelt turned, with her tail between her legs, and barely contained herself as she walked from the warriors den. All she had wanted to do was run for Fourtrees.

"Come in Midnightpaw" Eaglestar meowed pulling her kits off of eachother. "Who is here?"

Kestrelheart padded after the calico warrior and said, "No problems" cheerily he mewed, "My first night in the den I kept kicking Dovefire in the face"

Ashfoot sat beside the entrance and scented the air. He caught many cat scents that were very similar. Watching Midnightpaw as she went into the den, Ashfoot followed more cautiously. Sun-high lit the den well. Shadows crept in the corners but nothing could be hidden. The den was warm, with a sand floor and clumps of moss thrown around. As if to announce who made this mess, two kits tumbled straight for him. Lifting one front paw, Ashfoot gazed after the squealing pair. They sound angry. A cream and brown-gray striped one snapped at a pale tabby, the tabby in turn bit back. Looking to where Midnightpaw went, Ashfoot saw two more kits. A scarlet one lay asleep in the moss nest while a honey, brown, and white patched on curled under a warriors leg. Lifting his amber eyes further up, his gaze landed on crimson ones. The she-cat was white with pale, pale cream stripe on her legs. Albino, was all that came to mind.

“He saved me, Eaglestar!” Midnightpaw meowed excitedly after telling Eaglestar a bit about meeting Ashfoot, “And Cheetahwind, too.”

He couldn’t help but smirk when she glanced back and spooked. What a silly apprentice. Doesn’t like much attention, he thought. Looking back down at the calico kit, Ashfoot stared closer. Something isn’t right. She’s looking right at me but…does she really see me? Dismissing the question from mind, Ashfoot sighed. “Eaglestar,” he purred, “The night was a long” more than she would ever understand, “and restless. If I could stay and rest my weary paws, I would be in debt to you and your clan.” Dipping his head, he hoped that she didn’t catch his slip-up of a deputy addressing a leader. Glancing into her scarlet eyes Ashfoot couldn’t tell. I just want something to be loyal to. Wiggling his ash colored toes he waited for a response.

Merrowing with laughter, Patchpelt rubbed her head along Kestrelheart’s cheek and jaw. “You’re so funny!” she purred. “I need to go see Fernseed though.” Realizing how frightening that might sound, she added, “I had an odd dream last night and wanted to talk to her about it, nothing more.” Flicking her tail along his shoulder in goodbye, Patchpelt trotted away. Prancing through into the medicine cat den she stopped in her tracks. “Cheetahwind?” she gasped. Rushing forward she looked at Gentlepaw, Nightpaw, and then Fernseed. “What?” Gazing down at a broken, weak Cheetahwind, she almost cried, “What happened?”

Cheetahwind stared at Patchpelt, and managed a weak smile. "I guess...... I'm not as fast as a badger, huh?" He breathed slowly. All he could remember, from all these cats, was only Midnightpaw and Patchpelt. He wracked his brain, trying to remember, but only ain came. "Auhh!" He stopped trying. He'd remember it all tomorrow...... he hoped. "W-where-who- are these other cats, Patchpelt?" He said fearfully. "A-are they trying to hurt me?" If only he could remember. He looked at the she-cat ordering the other two younger ones around. "C-could you let her stay? S-she's the only one I feel I can trust right now, although you all must be friendly too.... The only one I can remember... her.."
