Lavender took Daphne's hand and shook it gently, "You miss should marry my brother." she said with a large smile.
Sky bowed to Daphne before looking at her, "I apologize deeply for Lavender's behavior." he said trying to offer her a small smile," She is quite odd sometimes but she does mean well."
"I'm not a well." Lavender said shaking her head, "I do not bear a bucket nor do I hold water."

Daphne looked confused and slightly taken aback for a moment, before recomposing herself and replying, "Oh, no, it's fine." She smiled politely, though still genuinely. "You are Lavender and Sky of Kilzone, am I correct? I'm sorry for not introducing myself when I said hello. I'm Daphne Montgomery, from Attalia, eldest daughter of King Robert and Queen Eleanor." she added, brushing a stray hair back behind her ear that had found its way free from its pin. She would deal to that later when she had a chance to go to the ladies' room.

"You are indeed correct." Sky said with a smile, "And it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Miss Daphne. I must say that the dress you are wearing is quite fitting for a lady of elegance such as yourself."
"I could wear it better!" Lavender said, "I hate my step sister already and you aren't even married yet!"
"Hush Lavender you're being rude." Sky said calmly as he glared at his sister.
"No I'm not! Being rude is wearing a dress that someone could wear better than you!" Lavender retorted.
"But then the world would not be clothed." Sky said, "As there is always someone who thinks they would wear it better."

Daphne smiled and got flustered at Sky's compliment. "Thank you," she said, "You're very well dressed yourself." Her smile faded when Lavender spoke, but she didn't say anything. She didn't want to offend her, especially if she wasn't quite... 'right in the head', as Daphne suspected. She nodded in agreement with Sky. "I'm sure someone would think they could wear your own dress better, Lavender, and you wouldn't be clothed either," she said reasonably, trying to keep the conversation light.

Rika picked up her silver ribbony mask and scratched the silver dress, it was pretty uncomfortable. She looked at herself in the mirror and rubbed her hand against her smooth fine hair. She personally didn't like the idea of the ball if it meant nothing. She sighed looked at herself again and smiled, it didn't really matter that much. Plus she might find someone to go to the ball with, well hopefully that was. She added the finishing touches to her outfit and stepped out of the room, she might as well try to explore this place a little so she wouldn't get lost in the hallways. She thought for a moment, oh her pet lion Remin. She had forgotten him hadn't she. She walked back into the room and looked at him "what is it that you need now?" she asked. She looked at him "I can give you some food" she rubbed her hand against his soft fur she smiled and handed him a bowl of food. "here now let me go, shall I?" she walked out of the room and closed the door. Hopefully he would behave.

Renia sighed dramatically and placed her head on Valkyrie's shoulder. The black interior of the carriage shook violently as they went over another bump and Renia repeated her sigh.
Rekia roared, tore of his mask and threw it at Renia. "Can you not go one minute without sighing!?"
"I can, I just choose not to." She purred, sighing again to reinforce her point.
Valkyrie pushed Renia off of him and picked up Rekia's mask, which he thrust at him. "Behave, both of you. This is a formal event with the princes and princesses from every kingdom in the land, and if you yell "-Valkyrie looked at Rekia-"and complain"-He looked at Renia-"Then our kingdom will be viewed as uncivilized and immature."
Rekia growled, but put his mask back on and nodded. Renia sighed once more, but nodded too. "I will try, but I am not making any promises."

The golden spiral decorations inside the carriage shone as the lights of the castle came into the carriage. The carriage entered the castle and stopped outside the main hall where the ball was. The door was opened byone of the guards and Renia leaped out, Valkyrie and Rekia climbing out after her. Valkyrie thanked the driver and the carriage left.
Renia grabbed Valkyrie's arm and dragged him inside as he hurriedly put on his mask. Rekia growled and followed.

Lavender stared at Daphne, "I shall not allow such a woman to be your husband dear brother!" she said before storming off in the direction of the tables that held the food.
"I again apologize for my sister's behavior. The cause for her madness is yet to be discovered but I will make sure that it does not harm anyone." Sky said with a small bow, "I only ask that you pay her no mind and try to correct her behavior if you see fit to do so."

Ebony crossed her arms and surveyed the hall once more, her lips slowly turning down into a frown as she did. "This is boring. Something interesting should have happened by now."
Wharshin's antennae twitched in irritation. "Possum, this hall contains many beings. I am sure if you talk with them you will eventually find someone who amuses you."
Ebony cheered up somewhat. "Right then. I'm going to find some monsters. Or shinies. Whatever I find first." She called over her shoulder as she strode off to search.
"Please avoid death." Wharshin said, shaking his head and watching her go. I may as well socialize too. He thought and began to scan the crowd for someone as unoccupied as he was.

Daphne shook her head, and assured Sky, "No, no. It's fine. I'm sure she's a lovely girl, and I don't blame her for not taking kindly to me. I did, quite rudely, now that I think about it,  barge into your conversation after all." She turned her head around quickly to see that her siblings were not causing any mischief, which, thankfully, they weren't. She turned back around to Sky and thought it best to change the subject. "Tell me about your kingdom," she offered, "I'm sure it's very different to Attalia."

((Questions: What time of day is it? And what is the date? Also, am I getting the setting of the ballroom right in my posts? If there's no food table or whatever I can edit haha))

Rika fumbled down the hall and walked past a group of people, she would have to find someone unoccupied if she wanted to talk. She looked down at her shoes, these are awfully uncomfortable . She sighed straightened her back and walked normally, she didn't want anyone to think of her as undignified. She decided to go sit in the courtyard and read. No one could could say anything about her if all she did was read. She looked around her, still no one. There was still a little while until the ball, she might meet someone in time. If se didn't then she could always go alone, there was nothing wrong with that. Well she did kind of want to go with someone but that could wait until later.

((The ball has started Holidays. Everyone is in the hall. Still waiting on Spirit though. Also Emma it is night, unspecified and you are correct.))

Sky thought for a second before answering, "Well you see, it's a very nice place to live. Or rather it was before the war. Lake Aminte was a particularly peaceful place to admire the sunset and write a bit of poetry. In the late hours of the night your could hear the howls of the Aminte Luna Cats. If you stay up long enough you can be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of their silver fur as they run across the water of the lake."

Daphne has never heard of Aminte Luna Cats, so she listened intently, with utmost curiosity and enthusiasm. She tried to picture the cats on the lake and smiled. "Kilzone sounds lovely," she said sincerely, "Are the Aminte Luna Cats common there?"

***

Ridge and Arabella stood side by side, leaning against the wall. Ridge wanted to dance like everyone else in the middle of the ballroom, but he knew he'd make a fool of himself if he tried. He frowned at this realisation. He pushed himself off the wall. "I'm going to go see what Daphne's up to," he said.
"Okay," Arabella said, but made no move to join him, so he walked off without her.

He dodged some dancing couples and wove his way through the many bunches of people chatting amongst themselves, searching for his sister. He saw her talking to a man. Probably another prince, he thought. He strode up to Daphne's side, and stood awkwardly behind her, hoping she would notice and introduce him.

***

Arabella took another bite-sized morsel, a pastry this time, from a platter and bit into it. It was very good, but there was a surprising amount of jam inside. She cupped her hand under her chin to catch the drips. Luckily, none of it got on her dress. She wondered if anyone else wouldn't be as lucky, and laughed quietly to herself.

***

Madi had had enough of sitting around doing nothing. She needed to get some fresh air, and run around a bit. But, of course, she couldn't. Not while she was at this stupid ball. She got up and headed for the doors, hitching up her long, golden dress.
"Princess Madison, your caregiver has instructed us not to allow you to leave the ball before dinner is served," said the man at the door apologetically.

Madison sighed loudly and turned around. She walked a few steps, and then turned back around to run past the man. Unluckily for her, he had anticipated her move, and was standing directly in the way of the door. She ran into him, and let out an 'oof'. He raised an eyebrow, and she laughed. "I was jus' kiddin'!" she said, grinning awkwardly.

She walked back into the crowd, thoroughly displeased with her feeble attempt at escape. Her dress was getting caught under her shoes as she walked, and her arms were getting tired of holding up her dress every time she wanted to move. I wonder... she thought, and moved silently to the bathroom.

She pushed open the door, and found herself a stall. She locked it behind her and stared down at her dress. She bent over and took the bottom of it in her hands. She ripped the fabric upwards, until the tear was right up at her knees. It was harder to do, but with a little more effort, Madison managed to rip the dress sideways until the entire bottom half of her dress was history.

She looked down at her handiwork, very pleased with herself, and grinned. Sure, it was a little rough around the edges, but at least she could walk properly now without fear of toppling over her own two feet. She reopened the door to her stall and walked out, back into the ballroom.

Renia dragged Valkyrie inside and took a second to dramatically look around the ballroom. Immediately she locked onto the dance floor, and looked back at Valkyrie.
Seeing her look, Valkyrie pulled himself from her grip. "Oh no, I am not dancing, I will look stupid compared to you."
"That's true." Renia said, seeing through the obvious ploy. "But I do want to dance, and as royalty I order you to." She purred.
Valkyrie shook his head. "Technically, for the purposes of this event, I am royalty, so that won't work."
"No, but my natural charm will." Renia said, running her hand along his cheek.
Valkyrie grumbled to himself, but knew that eventually she would win. "Well, you are going to get me to dance with you at some point, so I might as well get it done with." He said, not managing to hold back a smirk.
"Don't worry, people will be to busy looking at me to notice you." Renia replied, leading him onto the dance floor.

Rekia moved up silently beside Wharshin, observing that he seemed vaguely civilized. "I have an extreme distaste to such social events as this." Rekia said without looking at Wharshin.

"Unfortunately, they are necessary." Wharshin said. He was slightly disappointed by his vocal skills as he had intended to sigh, but had remained monotonous instead. You will have to improve before someone takes your words the wrong way and you cause unnecessary trouble.

Ebony shifted into her feline form and amused herself by darting around the legs of others, startling many and tripping a few. She purred with laughter and sprang onto a table to get a better view of the hall and regain her bearings while also silently daring someone to complain.

Matthew elbowed his brother and pointed at Arabella, "How about that one dear brother?" he asked with a smirk, "She seems like the type of wife you would like."
"I honestly don't know what your talking about." Tomix said flatly.
"Well she is rather fetching to the eye is she not?"
"I suppose she is."
"And she has an air of elegance does she not?"
Well she is eating over her hand as to not get the dress dirty."
"You should marry her then."
"Maybe you should leave me alone?"
"Never my dear brother." Matthew smirked.

Sky smiled, "Sadly no." he said, "They are quite a rare sight to behold as they are only seen at night. Not only that but they used to be hunted when the kingdom was first founded. So their numbers are not what they once were."

Winter walked slowly into the hall and looked around in confusion. Her siblings had left her in her room and simply went to the ball without her. This wouldn't have been the first time either. She adjusted her mask on her face and then walked slowly onto the dance floor. Her purple dress shone in the light as she scanned the floor for her sister.

(if i post bios straight away can i join?)

Whether we wanted it or not, we\'ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let\'s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta\'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He\'s well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

((I'm sorry but I just need you to know how hard I laughed when I saw Arabella referred to as elegant. The answer is so hard that I nearly spat out my drink))

"Oh," Daphne said, not quite sure what to add. She felt a presence behind her, and turned around to see Ridge standing there. She thought it best to introduce him. "Sky, this is Ridge, my brother. Ridge, this is Prince Sky, from the kingdom of Kilzone," she said. Ridge nodded and smiled sheepishly as his idea of a greeting.

***

Arabella's hand was covered in jam by the time she had finished the pastry. She had no idea what to do with it, as there were no napkins in sight. She looked around to see if anyone was watching, and then, as discreetly as possible, licked her hand clean. She looked around again and continued as if nothing had happened.
