Cain raised an eyebrow at Ronni's entrace. "Morning." He said. Sleepy head. He held onto the collar of Fall so the pup couldn't ensure Ronni's fall to the ground. Then he got up and silently left the room, off to shepard with the dogs and work on training them. Fall licked Elliot, Jason and Ronni, before following him. Once at the fields, Cain looked around, grabbing a stallion's reigns. He rode it bareback and went to the sheep flocks.

Jason walked out of the door behind Cain along with Zues following him. He was on his way to the corn fields. He didnt exactly like that job but it was OK. Zues ran off to the sheep and kept watch. Jason saw him get distracted by the farms cat. "Hey! Zues! Get back to work!" he yelled as he snapped his fingers. Zues grunted and sat on top of a haystack watching the sheep. Jason rolled up his sleeves of his green plaid shirt and started hoeing the dirt to make it softer and better for corn to grow.

"Chipper as usual this morning are we, Ronni?" Russ asked with the slightest hint of a grin. As the time for work dawned closer the young man's mood grew more serious. With one last mighty swig, and a loud thud as he banged down his mug, Russ finally stood up.
"I would love to stay and chat, but there still is work to do. Catch you all at lunch time. Thanks Elliot!" The black haired boy strode out of the kitchen and towards the corn fields. He would have to load up his truck a bit before heading into town.
Through the rows of tall corn, he spotted sight of the shifty Zala. She didn't talk as much as the rest of the girls did, and she never seemed interested in anything more than from moving from her bed to the fields, and back again. He couldn't recall if the girl had ever said a full sentence to him yet.
Carefully, trying not to startle the girl, Russ picked up a gathering basket near the end of a row of corn. Whistling softly he started to make his way to Zala and grabbed a few ears of corn.
"You know," he said without looking at the girl, but rather continuing to pick corn, "you shouldn't run out of the kitchen so fast. Even if you aren't hungry, you can stay and talk for a bit, we don't bite. It would make Elliot so happy. This old place isnt the same when he's upset."
Back in the kitchen, the said chef was bursting with glee. What with the return of Marie, and the new arrival Ronni, there might actually be some food eaten around here.
"Wonderful!" he exclaimed pushing a plate onto both of them. "WOd either of you ladies like some tea with your breakfast?"
Without waiting for an answer he put a kettle on the stove to boil. While he waited for it to whistle, the brown eyed boy put some leftover pieces of bacon and a scoop of eggs on a plate and presented it to Cain.
"That looks like enough for your dogs?" he asked. Elliot actually poor Cain's dogs more than Zeus. At least they mostly stayed out of his kitchen when he was busy. |

Ronni squinted when Zeus licked her and then just giggled," Zeus! Your breath stinks!" She
then wiped the wet patch on her face and breathed in the sweet smell of freshly cooked bacon and eggs and grabbed a fork and stabbed the centre of her egg and then thrust some toast at the yellow yoak. She then listened also waiting for the 'PING!' of the kettle and then said to Elliot," You know i had the most stange of dreams last night," She waited for a second finishing a mouthful of chrispy bacon and then continuing her sentence,"So I was in the corn field sitting on the ground, casually eating some of the stuff when suddenly all the corn turned to dust and I couldn't see nothing for miles and thenI started to stand up and I fell through the mud and... well, thats when Zeus woke me up!" She then took a picture of her mum and dad out of her pocket and kissed them goodmorning,"This picture is all I have left of my family. After I was told that they had died in a car crash i was so gutted that I ran away from home and ended up here and now you guys are my family!You guys are the best family I could ever of asked for!" She said before bersing into tears and staringlongingly at her picture and kissing them over and over.
(Yes she's quite the chatty person!)

Zala looked up at Russ. "I, uh..." She looked down again. "I'm sorry..." Zala said, trying not to make eye contact. "Too many boys..." She mumbled to herself. Her stomach growled loudly and her face turned bright red. She then took a deep breath, as if saying 'cool mode activated'. "I don't need your pity, I am perfectly fine on my own." She turned and began to walk away. As she turned her body shivered. Chrono rubbed against her legs, but Zala just stood there. Faced away from Russ.

Jason cleared away a patch of corn and saw Zala and Russ talking. He decided to eavesdrop when he got bored. "Too many boys?" he asked himself. Why would that matter? Not like we're going to hurt her or anything. He thought to himself. Jason continued plowing and put his hoe down after he cleared and entire patch. He could hear Zues barking in the distance and chasing the crows out of the field. "Well at least he's helping." he mumbled to himself. Jason then walked up to Zala. She could use some cheering up. "Hey Zala!" he exclaimed cheerfully. "Look I wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out with me today, after work. And um.. you know.. chill?" he asked. Jason could feel himself blushing, he had a feeling he liked Zala a bit but he couldnt tell yet. He then stood there patiently waiting for Zala to answer.

Marie shrugged and watched him put the kettle onto the stove. "I uhh.. I suppose." she sighed and pulled up a chair from the corner. It was always their, no one but her had really ever payed attention to it. She took her plate and began to eat. She then looked over to Ronni and put her hand on Ronni's shoulder. "It's okay Ronni. Atleast you have a family." she said with a small sly smile. Marie had always found herself as one of the strays, turning away mostly from everyone. Even if she really did get along with almost everyone their, she still always felt like a stay. "Theirs a Cutting show tomarow, mabey yall could come watch me?" she offered. "I could drive, and let yall have a ride on Street Fleek?"

Zala was startled buy Jason. He wanted to hang out with her? Why? She was always so mean and cold to him. She kept thinking and asking herself. For some reason she wanted to spill out all her troubles on someone. "Fine. Meet me in front of the lunch hall after work." She said and turned away. "Don't make me wait." She hissed and walked away. Her face was bright red as she walked away. Zala didn't mean to be so cold with boys. It just came natural for her with them. Yes, before this she lived with two boys. Her Father and younger brother. But her father was a horrible man and her brother was always sick.

Jason blushed a bit and smiled. "Oh um yea. I-Ill meet you there!" he exclaimed as she walked away. After she left Jason jumped with glee and accidently dropped all of the corn from his basket. "Yes! Haha this is so great!" he shouted as he started to pick up the corn. After his field shift was over he went over to the horse stables with Zues walking behind him. "And then she said yes!" he said to Zues. Though he did nothing but scratch the back of his ear. Jason shrugged and went over to a horse stable. He cleaned up all the horses mess and gave her some extra hay and fresh water. After he was done with that one he did the same with the rest of the ten horses.

Zala finished up her harvesting and returned to the vegetable to the kitchen. She headed back to her cabin to change out of her dirty clothes. she sat out side of cabin and waited till most of the shifts were over. Zala walked towards the kitchen and stood there to wait for Jason. She was wearing a red sweater and jeans. Not that she was trying to look fancy.

Marie finished up her breckfast and stood up. "Hey Elliot!" she grumbled. "I'll be back from my tea, I'm going to take Jojo to her barn.." She said. I got her out... for NOTHING.... Marie growled in her mind. She then walked out and too Jojo. The Walkaloosa stood their, noy moving, only swishing her tail and flickering her ears. "Come on Jojo." Marie said and watched Jojo perk her ears up. "Pasture? Or barn?" she offered. Jojo looked back at the padock instead of the barn or the pasture. In the small little area, was the quarter Horse stallion, Street Fleek. Marie let out a snort and decided to put her in the pasture. She untied Jojo and climbed onto the saddle. She then rode her to the pasture and climbed off. She took the sack off the mare and let her into the pasture. Marie then walked back, dirty from the dirt on the tack, but she really didn't care then. "Back..." she said a bit silently.

After Jason finished he ran to his cabin with Zues following behind him. He changed into jeans and a plaid-red shirt. Jason looked at himself in the mirror and added his favorite black cowboy hat. He thought he looked nice. Zues growled at a butterfly outside the window and pawed at it. "Sorry boy. You're gonna have to stay in here while Im with Zala." he commented as he shut the window. Jason then left his cabin with Zues in there and walked into the kitchen. He saw Zala waiting for him and gave her a small smile. "Hey Zala." he said sweetly before sitting down.

Cain exaughsted himself working with the dogs. He'd almost had to go and strangle Zues for barking at them, but eventually he'd got them working and hearded all the sheep into their paddock.
He headed back to the kitchen, Fall was snapping at insects and barking happily, while Rory trottered along, rubbing his side across Cain's legs. He walked into the kitchen and grinned again at Elliot. "Hey." He said, grabbing a stool.

Cain raised an eyebrow. "Workin' " he said, Fall now nipping his ankles. Rory sat patiently by his chair, waiting for food scraps. Cain sat down on the stool by the kitchen bench and put his feet on the table. He worked bare door, but never managed to get any cattle, horse or dog dung on them.

She smiled a bit then turned away. "Elliot, that tea will have to wait for me..." she snorted a bit. She rubbed her eyes once more and stood up, she looked out the window and back at Cain. "Have a good time working?" she teased a bit. "I uh, I have to go get Street pumped for the show tomarow." she said with a slight smile. She then headed towards the door. She hoped to work up a conservation so she wouldn't have to leave.. Just yet..

Cain grinned. "More work than you've been doing." He said jokingly as he poked her. Fall barked, but shushed when he made the hand signal to stop. "Street pumped show?" He asked, still a faint smirk written on his face. "And I'll grab another coffee, Elliot and a three plates of food. No dinner for you two." He said as he poked Fall and Rory.

Russ glared at Jason but didn't comment on the fact that he was using work time to ask out girls again. The thing that puzzled him though was, why Zala? If she hadn't had a full conversation with him, she probably hadn't had one with Jason either. Whatever floats your boat though I suppose, he thought to himself as he moved down the rows of corn. Russ decided that he would go into town tomorrow instead since he hadn't been able to ask anyone about the supplies they needed yet. Perhaps he could start up a conversation with the other about that at lunch or dinner.
In the kitchen Elliot was fixing a special cup of tea for Ronni. Poor girl got like this every now and then. Though he supposed he could kinda understand where she was coming from. It was true that his parents hadn't died, but his father refusing to talk to him because of his decision to be a cook instead of a lawyer was hard for him. He had always thought that his father would be there for him no matter what.
Elliot grabbed the mint syrup from the pantry and added a few drops to Ronni's tea. He always found that it helped to calm people down if you didn't have any camomile handy. He placed the mug before the girl, and gave her a pat on the shoulder.
"It'll be alright," he told her "Now that you have us, there's no need to cry. I'm sure you'll still be sad but we're here to make it better."
The chef flashed Ronni a huge grin and went back to his plate preparing for Cain and his dogs. They all ate so much it was hard to keep up some times. |

Cain raised an eyebrow. "Well, no, I didn't forget Street. And No, Fall and Rory are here too." He said, a smile reflected in his voice. "Thanks Elliot." He said, the grin showing on his face now. He liked Elliot as a friend for some reason. Also his cooking was pretty great "Where Autumn?" He asked, putting the plates down for Rory and Fall. Fall trottered up to Elliot's legs and licked them, before returning to Cain's side to eat. "That's his way of saying thank you." Cain said, digging into his meal.
