Slowly Elliot closed the door when Cain turned away. After it was closed he took a moment to bang his head against it muttering, "Stupid, stupid, stupid!" Cain was probably never going to look him in the eye again. They were really good friends and Elliot didn't want that to be messed up by one slight second slip up.
"Friends..." Elliot said under his breath as Autumn rubbed up against his leg, mewing again. "Yeah, we're friends... But that's all we'll ever be."
Coming from an all male boarding school, Elliot was use to the "just friends" protocol. There was nothing else they could be, ever, or else it would ruin the relationship they had already built. It had happened once before at school, with his last best friend. Afterword he wouldn't look Elliot in the eye, so talking to him again was out of the question.
Elliot sighed and hopped back into bed, praying and hoping that when the sun rose that nothing will have changed.
"Right," Russ called after Zala as she dashed away. "Tomorrow sounds good."
The black-haired boy blinked after her and stuck his hands in his pockets. What was he doing? Normally he tried to stay away from all the crazy drama, now he was right in the thick of it all! Jason had wanted to punch him earlier today for just looking at Zala, not even looking with interest, just plan old looking. He was not going to be a happy camper if he found out about this.
"Looks like I'll have to be under the radar for a little bit," he told himself as he turned and headed back to his cabin.
