Frowning at Jordyn, Seth pulled himself up into a standing position. "Thanks for sparring with me," he said sarcastically, rubbing the bridge of his nose angrily. Not caring about the dirt he smudged on his cheeks he wiped his hands on his face a few times, ridding it of all the sweat that had accumulated during the fight.

Strapping his celestial bronze sword to his waist he gave the daughter of Ares a murderous look before padding out of the Stadium, his entire being radiating annoyance and perhaps even a slight hint of fury.

Heading for the main house Seth sighed deeply and touched the wound on his chest with the pad of one finger, frowning when the cut stung painfully. Sighing, he pulled his shirt off and ripped a few strips from the black material, tying it securely around his chest. Damn Jordyn, he thought sullenly as he joined the other gathered campers.

Smirking Jordyn slipped her long sword into the sheath on her back, offering Arana a sly smile. "I suppose there's something going on, no? Otherwise I don't see you coming here and getting us for no reason," she murmured quietly as she slipped her arm braces off.

Pulling off the strip of leather she used to keep her bangs out of her eyes, Jordyn loosened her brown hair from its tie and shook her head, letting her long brown hair fall down her back. Plucking at it with a distasteful look in her eyes, the warrior girl sighed. "Straight as a pin," she muttered sullenly.

Zekos smirked as Arana stalked off, obviously not happy with the fact that she had to fetch and carry like some minor servant. That daughter of Aphrodite was uppity and snotty in his opinion, even her looks and parentage didn't effect him.

Probably gone to flirt with Seth, he thought with a small grin.

Silver eyes looked upon the lake, watching for any sign of movement. The owner of the piercing orbs was crouched beside the body of water, a spear in hand and as the water rippled, showing that a fish was coming to the surface, the girl poised, ready to strike. She let go of her spear, not having the will to kill the fish and it might get her strangled by Poseidon or his children and that would ruin her day. The girl sighed and leaned back onto the soft forest floor. She wasn't technically supposed to be out here, not at this time of night, but she couldn't help it. She loved being out here. It gave her time to think because the Hermes cabin was so loud.

"Why haven't I been chosen..." The girl, whose name was Pheonix, muttered to herself, playing with her black hair that had spread around her when she had lay on it. She knew she wasn't poseiodon, she liked to eat fish and water was not her favorite thing. Nor was she Zeus for she hated the sky. She had never flown in an airplane and was she sure she never would. Apollo? Nah... She hated the way they were always showing off with their fancy chariots and such. Of course, she could be a minor god's child, like Iris, the goddess of rainbows. Maybe she was the daughter of Hades... No, it could be a possibility, but she didn't lurk that much and she didn't like death. 

Then she had her answer. She sat up when she was bathed in a warm glow. It wasn't gold, it was silver and it seemed to be coming from abover her head. It wasn't the moon, too bright, so had she finally been chosen? Yes, she thought as she leaned over the edge of the lake and there, birght abover her head; A silver bow with an arrow connected and an owl holding it. Artemis's sign. She was the daughter of one who had sworn off love and become a huntress of the night. The sign slowly ebbed away and Pheonix stumbled off to find her bunkmate. She knew she had one, for she had seen the other girl from time to time. Funny...

As Seth approached the main house, Karin noticed his arm bleeding. Being rather fainty and squeamish around blood, she made a small gasp and hurried over to him. "Uhhh, Seth, you alright?" She asked, knowing he wouldn't be too happy to have her bring all the attention of the campers to him. It looked rather deep to her, and thankfully Karin had stopped breathing momentarily to avoid inhaling the nauseating smell of blood.

Arana shrugged. "Yup. Chiron is calling all the campers. Thought you heard the bell." She replied smoothly, regarding Jordyn with no ex
pression. "Straight... as in your hair?" She asked, mildly curios. Arana always sought to keep her hair straight, to avoid messy curls and knots. 

"Why not? I hate straight hair," Jordyn murmured, slipping past Arana and out of the stadium's large arch. "Are you coming?" she asked, beckoning the other girl with two fingers. "I doubt Chiron would appreciate you being late, considering he sent you on an errand."

Glancing down at his arm, confusion furrowed Seth's forehead. "But...no, that's just blood Karin. The cut's on my chest." He pointed to the gash on his chest, where his heart sat. "It's just a scratch on my arm."

Amusement crinkled his eyes as he noticed Karin's stricken look. "It's only blood. It's not like I'm dying or anything." He grinned.

Zekos nodded absently. "Hmm...somewhere...over there," he murmured, waving his arm in a general direction. He knew where it was, but it was fun to play around with her. "It probably won't be too hard to find...or something."

Lifting his eyes he lifted an eyebrow, the rest of his face obscured by his long black hair. "Don't get lost," he said sweetly, smirking at her.

"Oh....hey Echo," Seth murmured absently, noticing the demure girl stride past nonchalantly. "What d'you think Chiron wants to talk to us about?" He asked this in a loud voice, watching as she pa-ssed the two of them without a comment. Hopefully she would hear him. Curious as a cat was how his mother had described him constantly.

Running a hand through his brown hair Chiron swept his brown gaze the a-ssembled campers. "Camper of Camp Half-Blood, Dionysus and I have come up with something to keep you all occupied for the entire summer. I will stay to watch over you all, but Dionysus has to go to a meeting with the gods. Therefore, we are proposing a contest between the cabins.”

He let his words hang, watching each face silently and gauging their reactions.

Taylor stumbled through the forest and grumbled when she tripped over a tree root. Shadowfax felt a small whisp of pity and strode back to her. Taylor rolled her eyes and pulled out a small twig from her hair. "Now you wait for me." She muttered sarcastically. She was stealthy when she wasn't trying to run through the forest and she could only imagine the amount of noise she had created. Shadowfax resumed his walk, but slowed his pace by a great deal. Taylor followed him through the dense undergrowth and emerged where the other campers had gathered. She leaned against the bark of a tree and let out a sigh. She just caught the end of Chiron's sentence. "What kind of contest is it, Chiron?" She asked, immediately intrigued.

Maksis followed Shadowfax and Taylor through the woods. After much complaining from Maksis, Rune had jumped off of his shoulder and walked beside him. Maksis rubbed his shoulder and glowered at the cat. He emerged from the forest in a much quieter fashion than Taylor had. He took a spot next to her and she greeted him with a quick glance.

"Thanks." Pheonix hissed and walked away from him as Chiron said the message. "A contest... Hmmm... That would be strange, considering she was more of a hunter than a fighter, but it could work. She would hide some place and wait for someone to come and then she would attack. Or, if it was a hunting contest, she could try and beat the hot heads from Apollo cabin. Of course, first, she would have to find them. Maybe it was a running contest and that could be fun, for she excelled at that too. Of course, if it was long distance, she probably would get like 3rd place because she was more of a sprinter.

She heard Chiron continue and listened intently to what he had to say and wondered why in heck Dionysis was at a meeting with the gods. after all, wasn't being here a punishment? Ah well, it did not matter. The gods were strange and had thir own reasons for everything they did. as everybody said, the greeks knew that there was no such thing as coincidences, there was only fate and this must have been Dionysis's fate. To meet with the gods that had punished him...

(((Calm down shadow, I will explain her history later. Here is a summary:

One day while Artemis was hunting, a man saw her, but hid and Artemis did not notice him, mistaking him, when she saw him, for a farmer. Artemis eventually took a short nap and............ Pheonix came to be. Artemis tried to kill her, but failed when Hera came in and intervened. Artemis despises Pheonix, but claimed her anyway to get it over with.))

Chiron's eyes took in the thoughtful looks on some of the campers, mostly those from the cabins who excelled in one sport or the other. "Ah, this contest shall not give advantage to one sort of camper, perhaps a daughter or son of the hunting gods, or Ares, but will test the skills of all. You must collaborate in this contest."

"To begin, I shall split you into two groups. Let it go like this. Poseidon, Hades, Artemis, Hephaestus and Aphrodite cabins shall be the west faction. Ares, Zeus, Nemesis, Apollo, Hecate, Athena and Hestia cabins shall be the east faction. Please split up accordingly."

Zekos glared at the other campers in his faction as he padded over to the west side of the field, namely the other children of Hades. Crossing his arms he slouched against one tree and looked out at his teamates through his black hair that flopped over his face, obscuring his emotions well.

Not another one of these, he thought with a sigh, a slight frown tugging at his lips.

"Great," Seth hissed to himself. "This means I'm stuck fighting, most likely, and with this cut I'm going to be useless." His dark eyes shone with annoyance and he shot a glare at Jordyn. Thanks to her I'm going to be some sort of deadweight to the team. And she's not even on the opposing side, so I can't pound her.

He was already standing in the east half of the field, so he stayed where he was, tightening the cloth around his chest slightly and mopping up the worst of the blood on his stomach and arm.

Doing her best to try to act disinterested Eudokia padded over to the east half of the field, her back ramrod straight and her mouth tight with some negative emotion, indigo eyes sparkling with either happiness, sadness or rage.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid," she hissed to herself, narrowy avoiding walking into Karin, who stood fawning over Seth like some moon-eyed cow.

"Yeah, well, you could be hurt, Seth." Karin said, crossing her arms stubbornly. "And everyone knows I'm one of the few people not comfortable around blood." She sighed, accidentally inhaling a few of Seth's blood. "Ew." She wrinkled her nose and covered it quickly with a hand. "See?"

Arana shrugged. "I suppose." She replied airily, following Jordyn.

Pheonix smiled when she spotted the other Artemis kid. She debated whether to go over to the girl. She was pretty sure that Artemis had probably tried to kill Karin too and this was probably why her dad was now dead and she lived with her father's brother, John Thera, and he was fairly nice, well, until Pheonix started to seem... feral. Pheonix sighed and gathered up her courage to go talk to the other girl.

Pheonix quickly walked towards the girl who was with Seth and smiled, but she froze, realizing that she didn't have what she was going to say. She bit her lip and though Better just wing it. She winced slightly and held out her hand. "I'm Pheonix, your new cabinmate." She said. She took her hand away, unsure of all this and raced off, dissapearing into the wooded area...

Grumbling slightly about feminine insecurities Seth, peeled off the cloth and showed her the cut. "It's just a scratch. This area tends to bleed a lot. Just be lucky I didn't get a small cut on my head. Those seem to enjoy draining the body of all its blood."

He grinned at her devilishly. He couldn't help but to tease Karin. She made it easy too, with her genuine fear of blood and gore. Just show her a droplet of the crimson liquid and she'd scuttle away faster than you could say 'blood'.

Shrugging Jordyn padded up to Seth with a smirk on her face. "Oh look, hey Karin," she murmured in a gentle lilting voice. "It seems that Seth got hurt today in our sparring." However, her brown eyes were warm and they flickered uneasily towards the cut, even though the flow of blood was slowing down.

Karin pretended to gag, though the smell really did get to her. "Oh, haha, funny, Seth." She said, refusing to show him the fact that she was feeling green. Karin gingerly reached out to take his arm and quickly put the cloth back in place, concealing the ugly red cut and blocking out most of the smell.

Arana followed Jordyn. "Pfft." She muffled out a little laugh, seeing Seth tease poor Karin. The girl didn't exactly look like she belonged to Camp Half-Blood, she looked delicate, and like she belonged to somewhere nice and decent, like a dollhouse.

Shaking his head in exasperation Seth pushed Karin's fingers away and retied the cloth, thought the blue cloth was already turning slightly red. "What a waste of shirt," he muttered, lifting an eyebrow at Jordyn.

"But we know it's not my fault, is it."

Pursing her lips Jordyn frowned at Seth. "I'm sorry. But you challenged me, not the other way around. You got what was coming for you," she pointed out stiffly, her body language conveying annoyance at his tone of voice.

Twirling one of her pigtails the slim girl closed her eyes and sighed. "Sorry, alright? Is that good enough for you or do you want to get back at me. Do you want me to stand here while you cut me up a bit? As payback?" Her brown eyes glittered accusingly.
