Naru nodded and read at the words carefully. 'A sickly girl, abandoned by her parents. Unusual snow white hair, pale skin, and red eyes. She says she can 'see spirits' and communicate with them, it seems she has gone insane.' He read aloud. Naru almost jumped at the sound of Mai scream. He jumped up and opened the door to see what had happened. When it turned out that she just got a burn, he sighed and went on with his work. "She should be arriving here in any minute," He said. Monk sighed. "You have to be more careful," He echoed. "Yourn lucky its not a severe burn." He reported. -fail-

"Did Naru just open the door. Does he actually care about somebody?" Mai teased, laughing at Naru's reaction. "Really. I cant wait to meet her!" She exclaimed finishing the rest of the cups. "I will Monk." She grinned handing him a cup and presenting one to Naru. "Oh come on. You know you care somewhat, dont pretend that you dont." She laughed skipping out of the room with a yawn. "Man, I'm exhausted." She yawned, flopping down on the couch.

Naru was about to ob
ject, when there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it," Naru said, standing up and walking toward the door. "Awesome! She's here," Monk chirped. Naru opene dthe door to see a girl, about the size of Mai, leaning on the side for support. "H-Hello," She said shyly, staring at her feet. "Come in," Naru moved out of the way so she could get in. She walked in quietly and sat down on the couch. "Hiya!" Monk ran up to her to be stopped by Naru. "Whats the deal?" Monk snapped. "Give her some time recooperate." Naru snapped.

"Naru. The only thing she has to worry about is your attitude." Mai scowled bit replaced it with a smile. "And Monk's bear hugs. I'm Mai!" Mai's eyes lost a little bit of light as she took in the thin girl. "Sorry, it's just that you look a little like my mother. Excuse me." She stood up and walked out of the room, fighting the tears she thought she had conquered. I have never had this problem. And this new comer of all people! -I have to go soon-

Akatsuki forced herself a smile. Naru hissed slightly, walking back into his office. "Oh, I-I'm sorry," Akatsuki said, watching Mai go. She stared at her feet in silence. "Hey, why's it all gloomy in here!" Monk broke the silence. Akatsuki flinched. "You can Call me Monk," He smiled. "I-I'm Akatsuki," Akatsuki greeted him.

Lin sighed. "Because Mai is a teenager who just saw somebody with a reference to her dead mother and if you havent noticed, Naru always acts like that." He stood up and walked over to Akatsuki, towering over the tiny girl. "I'm Lin." He said, offering a rare smile. He picked up the cup of tea that Mai had forgotten about, still warm and untouched. "Want some tea?"

Akatsuki looke dup at Lin, slightly scared. When he offered tea, she nodded, gingerly taking the warm cup of tea. "Hello," She said without stuttering this time. She turned over to Mai. "I hope she's okay," She said, sipping some tea. It was perfect, not too hot or too cold. "Thank-you."

"I wish I could say that I made it. It's all Mai's work, having grown up alone for a little while has its advantages." Lin sighed again, exhaustion becoming aparent on his face. He had been up all night working on things for Naru but had to keep going, which made him a little irritable. Having looked at the girls info though, he knew he had to be nicer with her than her was usualy with anybody else. "Was that a compliment Lin? Wow, today just keeps getting better and better." Came Mai's voice from behind Lin. There was a slight pink rim around Mai's eyes, only noticable to those who really paid attention. "I'm glad you enjoy it. You know Monk? Wake me up when its time to go, I'm taking a nap." She flopped down on the couch, falling asleep in moments. "If only I were allowed." Lin mumbled, irritated now that sleep was out of the question for him.

Naru rolled his eyes. "Come on everyone, lets go. I'm done with what I had to do here," He walked out the door and to the car-van thingie. (xD) Akatsuki finished her tea and set the empty cup down. "We're leaving already?" She asked, getting up. "Guess so," Monk replied, loading all of the equipment into the van-thingie. "You comin'? Asked Monk, Akatsuki nodded.

Lin stood up catching a glimps of Mai sleeping on the couch. He grumpled as he dragged her sleeping form down to the van. "She must have had a very bad day." He sighed handing her off to Monk, reaching into his pocket for his cell phone. He opened it and set the speaker on so Naru could hear as well. " 'Ello mates. I just finished with my things. I'll meet you there." Came John's voice from the other end. "Fine. We are heading out now." Lin said hanging up and helping Monk get Mai into the van, climbing into the front driver's seat.

Monk, with Lin's help, finally got Mai into the Van without bumping her head. "Yeah," Agreed Monk, climbing in the Van also. "What set her off?" He asked him. "I think I am to blame for that," Came Akatsuki's shy voice from the back seat in the Van. "She said that I looked like her mother and walked off." Monk sighed. "Don't take it personaly, okay?" He smiled. "See, I think her parents died when she was very young," He said. "Atleast she had parents..." Akatsuki muttered under her breath.

Mai yawned sitting up realizing that she was in the van. "Mooooonk. I told you to wake me up when we were leaving." She whined, trying hard to pout around the smile forcing its way through. "Oh great. She's up." Lin said pulling the van into the drive. John spotted the van and waved them over rushing up to the vehicle. "'Ey mates. I arrived a little bit ago, but they already have a few options of rooms we can use for base." He smiled, noting the bed head Mai in the back seat next to the new comer. John opened the doors, and smiled brightly at the girl. "I'm John Brown. A pleasure to meet you."

"You too," Akatsuki nodded greeting to him, slinking out of the Van. Monk grinned and playfully nudged her. "What ever," He chuckled, climbing out of the van. Naru was already out, and was going into the mansion. "Whats his problem?" Monk frowned. Akatsuki shrugged and followed him. "Aren't you going to help?" Asked Monk, pointing to the heavy equipment. "I-I guess," Akatsuki took a look at the stuff sighed, she knew for a fact she couldn't pick those things up.

"You are so evil Monk." Mai laughed, shoving him aside. "Dont worry about it Akatsuki. Lifting doesnt look like its your thing. Go follow Naru, I'll take care of things here." She picked up one of the boxes with a grunt. John rushed over and picked up another one, Lin following behind and picking up two. "Lets go." He said, walking after Naru.

Akatsuki shruuged a thanks, walking over to the entrance. She stopped and leaned against teh wall for support to catch her breath, then continued to make her way up to the door. The door was already opened, so she quickly walked inside before it could hit her. Monk got the rest of the supplies and followed the others.

(( I was thinking of having something to Mai(As usual) like maybe she falls asleep to help the case and ends up not being able to wake up for a while?! just an idea.)) Mai placed her box on the table gently, breathing hard. "Wow mates. This stuff gets heaviar and heviar(Perposely mispelling)!" John eclaimed, his breathing mimicking Mai's. "Not really." Lin replyed, placing his two next to Mai's. "Barely weighs anything." He opened the box and began pulling stuff out, placing a few cords around the room before the moniters could be hooked up.
