The snake roared with fury, slamming Mai's spirit into Naru, sending them both to the floor. It bellowed again, shrinking in size as it dissapeared back into Mai's wound. "I will come back for her, and when I do she will die that instant you fools." The voice rang out, both Mai's body and spirit shivering.

Naru sat up quickly. He shop a glance at Monk saying 'do it'. Monk pulled the glove on and gently placed Mai's spirit into her body. "do you think its going to work?" Monk asked. Naru just ignored him and watched Mai.

Mai gasped, her eyes shooting open as she jolted awake. She immediately found herself clinging onto Monk, her body trembling with shivers. Tears formed in her eyes, but she tried shake them away so as to not to look weak. Unfortunately she was unsucessful and the tears still flowed down her cheeks.

Mai looked around Monk at Naru, a saddened looked crossing her face as she realized that Naru really didnt care for anything but the working ability of his employees. "No thats alright Monk. He is selfish and rude and a spoiled rotten brat. He deserves what ever comes to him, and I'm tired of being pushed aside like some piece of work equipment that is expected to shut down any minute. I cant deal with this anymore, I'm sure the team will be just fine with out me!" She stood up and stormed away, leaving a dumbstruck John behind her. "Wh-what just happened?" Mai went down to the edge of the water, not caring what was inside. She had a feeling that it wouldnt hurt her for now, so she dippied her legs into the cool water. "Its not fair." SHe sighed, jolting when she heard a voice reply. I know my dear. But if you stay here with us, you wont ever have to see him again. You will be rewarded with love and people who care about you as a person. Stay here in this place with us forever! The voice cooed softly.

"Forever? Sounds nice." Mai sighed, completely ignoring Monk. John didnt know what to do so he followed Naru. "Do you want me to start taking down base?" He offered, not really sure of what to do himself.

Lin lay half asleep in a hospital chair, hunched over and leaning on the hospital bed that currently held Akatsuki.

"Mai?" Monk asked, completly confused. "Who are you taljking to?" He tilted his head. "Are you alright?"

Akatsuki's eyes fluttered open. She scanned the room, where was she? Everything was white. Am I dead? She wondered. She looked to a mirrior on her left, what was that thing on her face? Must be somethingg to help her breath. She shrugged it off. Someone was sleeping on the hospital chair. Lin?

((Ooops nvm, i didnt post, for some reason i thought i ded XD, meep, when can Mai figure out that she has a secret sister?!?! There, that gives me something to work with XP))

Mai wanted to respond but instead she fixed her eye on an image in the water. "Mom? Dad?" She whispered, seeing their image in the sparkling water, a kid Mai was standing beside another girl she didnt recognize. "What, thats my family, but I dont know her." She said, confusion crossing her features as she reached out to touch the picture. Having leaned over to far, Mai fell into the cold water with a shriek. Down below she could see the image even better, mystified she swam up to it, examining the face of the girl she didnt know.

Lin's eyes shot open, having heard Akatsuki shift in the bed. Relief spread across his features as he stood up to get her some water. "Drink this." He said expressionlessly, his face now the usualy unmoving mask.

"Mai, are you okay?" Monk repeated. "You family> Wait don't get too close--" To late. (xD) Monk dived in after her. Tank God no freaky spirits attacked. He grabbed her by the waist and swam up to the surface. "Are you crazy?" Monk snapped.

Akatsuki noticed how thirsty she was. She held out a frail hand and took the gras_s. Before she drank, she asked, "Lin, why are you here? Why am I here?" She took a small sip of the water.

Mai struggled against Monk, trying to dive back under to see her family's faces. "Let me go, I have to see who that is." She sighed giving up. There was no way she could break free.

Lin sighed, expecting as much. "Remember how we were talking by the pond? You were dragged under, when I went to bring you back up, whatever it was attacked me next. You pulled out your glove and scared it away, but you collapsed and stoped breathing, so we called an ambulence. I came along to make sure you were ok." Lin explained sitting back in the chair.

Akatsuki sighed. "I need to get out of here," She huffed. "I'm fine now, I just had one of my 'attacks'," She explained. She took another sip of her drink. "And the food here stinks, if you know what I mean." She muttered, a slight smile on her face.

Monk sighed. "See who?" he snapped. "Your crazy," He decided, walking Mai back inside. "Come on, we need to check on Akatsuki."

Lin stood up, taking his phone out of his pocket as he walked over to the nearby window. He dialed Naru's number hoping he would pick up.

"No, but I really saw them, I swear!" Mai grumbled, pain shooting through her arm. She grimaced and it was all she could do to keep from screaming out in pain. She could hear the chuckles of another voice but it wasnt her own and Monk hadnt been saying anything. "Forever my dear. You could stay here, see your family again. Wouldnt that be nice?" The voice cooed again, the sound was so nice that Mai actually began to consider it. No more work, no more school. "No more Naru." Mai said the last part of her list out loud, as if thinking it werent enough to make it true. "Forever sounds, nice." She sighed, the same trance like stare returning to her eyes.

"Mai--" Snapped Monk. "Are you okay?: He softly shook Mai. "This isn't funny!" He said, concern in his eyes. "No more Naru?" Monk stared at Mai. "Okay, something id definatly wrong here," He said. "Mai, snap out of it!" He pleaded. Naru was hinking the horn in the van.

Naru's phone rang. "Yes?" He asked. "Oh, Lin, its you. We were just about to come and pick you up." He said.

"Good, Akatsuki says she wants to leave. We should be ready to go when you get here." Lin said hanging up the phone. "I'll go get the nurse to give you the rest of your things back. Naru is coming to pick us up soon." He said placing his hand on the knob.

John walked through the hall to where Monk and Mai were. "Naru say its time to go now. Hey is she alright?" He asked noticing that Monk was shaking Mai half to death. "Whats going on Monk?"

"She's in some kind of trance," He huffed. He crossed his arms. "She said somethign about 'no more naru',frankly, I'm worried." He said. "She dived in the lake saying she 'had to see them again'." He added.

Naru nodded. He placed down the phone and sighed, where were those idiots? He thought

"Ill get Naru." John rushed away, runnin gup to the van. "Naru! Monk says that Mai is in some sort of trance. He doesnt know what to do, and sadly neither do I." John sighed looking back at the house.

"I want to stay. Please let me stay." Mai turned to look back at the water, struggling against Monk's hold again. "No work, no school, no Naru." She mumbled again, begginning to push harder and harder away from Monk.
