She glared at Naru before Mai's body went limp, a trail of black mist-like smoke flowing from her mouth. That smoke quickly took on the snake shape it preferred, seeming to have grown quite a bit. "Let me have him, I let the pathetic creature go. Now let me have him." It hissed, staying clear of the gloves that may or may not have any affect, better to be safe than sorry. Lin pulled Mai's, now limp, body close to him to protect it from any further harm.

The snake roared in pain, a high shrill sound that made your ears feel like they were bleeding. She lashed her tail out, slamming Monk and Akatsuki and John into the nearby wall. John grunted as her fell to the ground, unable to get up at the moment. Lin backed away just in time to dodge the blow, he lifted Mai and cradled her in his arms as he backed against the far wall. He was frustrated that there was nothing else that he could do in this situation. He whisled and few white orbs appeard, circling Mai and himself in a protective barrier, nodding to Naru that Mai, was infact, spirit free and alright.

The blow knocked the wind out of Akatsuki. "Akatsuki, are you alright?" Monk asked. Akatsuki was too dozed to speak, but managed a nod. "alright, get rid of that thing, Naru!" Monk snapped. Naru slammed it into the wall. "Get out, everyone!" Naru commanded. "This place is going down!" Naru threw the box andthey all ran out of the building.

Akatsuki gasped. "We left Lin and Mai!" She darted back inside. "Its not stable, Akatsuki, stay back!" Monk warned, but it was too late. She was already in, her gloves pulled on. "Lin, come on! lets go!" Then she saw the snake. "Get off!" She tugged at the snake spirit.

The snake ignored her, gaining in size as it sapped Lin's strength. Finaly his legs gave out beneath him and all that kept him up was the snake wrapped around him. He began to loose his grip on Mai, as well as his ability to stay awake. His strength was just about gone now, leaving him tired and weak, unable to fight back.

"No, dont. It will only kill you Akatsuki." Lin mumbled before loosing conciousness all together. Mai dropped from his grasp just to be caught by the other snake, each taking a different side of the room. "No you must choose. The girl or the boy. You take one and I take the other. It's just the way it goes my dears." It hissed, ready to escape the minute the decision was made.

"You swear, you wont hurt us?" The snake asked, lowering its defenses slightly. "We dont care that you are here. We care about the intent. We just want to live in peace with the humans but then they try to kill us." The snake lowered Lin and Mai to the ground in front of Akatsuki, their bodies turning to smoke again. "Thank you for showing kindness young one. We will do the same by protecting those we have tried to harm." The twisted themselves around the arms of the two laying on the ground, looking like tatoos now.

"I swear," Akatsuki's voice came out ragged. She gripped her neck and nodded, unable to speak anymore. "Akatsuki!" Monk cried, and that was when everything went black. Naru just shook his head. He walked over to Mai and picked her up. "Help Lin," He said, walking out of the house. Monk huffed and helped Lin to his feet. He turned to see Akatsuki fall to the ground.
