((Sorry I missed out guys. I was on vacation without internet.))
Lathia trailed along at the back of the group, not talking. She didn't know how to talk to people she barely knew but she thought it was just nice to be with other people. She didn't really care where they were going. The magic shop was probably some shop where a fortune teller lived, or some evil scientist. She totally didn't believe in real magic. It was all just a bunch of stupid tricks. But she felt she didn't need to say that. It would be fun. However, when the little shop came into view, shivers went down her back.
Lathia was actually more fascinated than scared of the inside. There were little toys and objects that looked like they were shipped from a distant, exotic country over seas. Others were impossible to identify. Everything in the magic shop had a peculiar draw to them.
Lathia was reaching out to touch a vile of some bubbling purple liquid when she heard her friends talking about the real witch, the one that turned into a cat. The whole story sounded convincing. But a real witch? That was impossible. If there were magical old women that turned into cats then anything was possible.
Then a black cat came out of no where. This just kept getting weirder. Then the cat did something no other cat would do. It talked. Lathia jumped and almost squealed. Then the cat talked in sentences and paragraphs. Oh my gosh! Apparently the cat was a witch! And the witch needed them to transform back into her usual self. Lathia was screaming inside. It totally didn't seem to be a trick. It was real. She felt it inside. When the black cat/witch revealed a box that spilled light, her whole body started tingling. She almost screamed to stop when her newfound friends reached into the magic box and pulled out dials. One of them read a chant written off it and she transformed. She still looked like herself but Lathia could feel a powerful aura coming off of her. Then others followed. It was so wierd. Lathia guessed that if she was like the rest of the group, she would have to do the same. When the one named Kouki didn't want to do it, Lathia took a step forward nervously.
"Come on. It can't be that bad. Maybe a little scary but if that... talking cat is really a witch then we have to try to help. It could be really cool. And we would be different from other people. In a good way." She realized that she hadn't talked so much all at once in school. Lathia took a step toward to box, her eyes were trained on it and there were goosebumps all over. She glanced at the black cat then closed her eyes and bravely plunged her hand into the box. Her fingers closed around something hard and small and when she opened her eyes, her fingers held a small dial like the others. Lathia marveled at it, then read the words:
Water, earth, air, fire, grant me the power that I desire.
As the word came out of her mouth, she shivered then was suddenly engulfed in a good feeling and her clothes changed. They looked like something from a fantasy film. She was beautiful. And it was absolutely AMAZING! She looked proudly at the rest, with a huge smile.
