OOC: Hmm... Well, I'd love to have more people. I really would. I'd have 20 users playing if I were able to keep track of them. If you're really that keen to join, then you can post a bio. One thing I'm certain of is that people will sometimes post a bio, but won't actually end up roleplaying. xD If you think you'll actually do just that, then go ahead, by all means. I only put the limit warning there because of people posting biographies without having the manners to ask if they can join first and won't even start writing when they're accepted. xD So go ahead Larg. :) I appreciate you asking anyway, I'm kinda aware that maybe only half the dudes here will actually stay. xD

Sorry, Wolfeira, just started school yesterday. However, I'll try to post. May I continue? A rustling movement came from the trees behind her. She turned just in time to see a young girl get on her hands and knees, then become a kirin. Britten hated being vulnerable, which she was whenever she was a human. Even though she could be wounded as a kirin, she could also heal. The branch-like horn in the center of her forehead wasn't just decoration, after all. Cantering forward, she stopped next to her fellow quadriped. Morning.

OOC: Yeh, go ahead, Pen. :3
Oh, and another thing - in your post, who is "she" in the first paragraph? xD If it's one of my characters, sorry hon, but that's powerplaying. xD I'm just not sure, though. Sorry if I'm mistaken. And thanks for posting.
That's fine, Larg. :) Take your time if your exams are on. You can even wait until they're finished if that makes you more comfortable. When you're ready to come back, you can catch up and we'll tell you what's happened so far. The gryphon whipped roughly around with such intensity, it was as though she'd been caught red-handed over a suspicious corpse. But at seeing the unicorn-like animal, she visibly relaxed, her thick mane settling to their previous undisturbed state and her head-crest now at ease. She cocked her head at the kirin, good-naturedly murmuring, "Morning" . Utoche, who wasn't as nearly as startled as his companion, simply gave an amused flick of his tail and shook his neck so that his dark-brown mane flew. The colourful, Indian-style braids around his face and the bald eagle feathers tucked neatly behind his ears quivered and shook in response. The blue, yellow and green beads jittered and clacked against each other like a frenzied instrument. He stepped forwards and lightly sniffed the kirin's nose, then the horn podruting from her forehead. What's your name?

Styx was slithering through the forest. He spotted a kirin, with two other animals. A gryphon? Styx stuck his tongue out to taste the air. Certainly powerful, but no aura of hostility were surrounding them. 'Friendly.' He thought, as he lifted his to get a better look. Styx considered turning them to stone, just for the mere fun of it, but decided against it. After all, kirins were rather rare, and a gryphon certainly was too. 'Interesting creatures, they are.' Styx observed. --- The ma-ssive body of a Hydra prowled through the forest. "I'm thirsty." Aine whined. "Oh, and what makes you think I'm not?" Aeval growled back. "We are so far from water, sister!" Aine persisted. "And our scales would dry up..." She trailed off. Aeval rolled her eyes. "I'm sure we won't die, Aine." She muttered. "Perhaps you two should be quiet." Asrai said quietly. "I can hear voices that do not belong to you." The two other sisters abruptly stopped and looked around. Aeval's eyes narrowed when she saw a kirin, a gryphon and a winged horse. "What an interesting trio they make." She sneered. "Perhaps we could shoot jets of water at them?" "And what harm have they done to you, Aeval?" Aine said in a lecturing tone. "Three against three, Aine!" Aeval cackled. "Why not?" "Because the eyes of stone... are here." Asrai said in the same quiet voice. Aeval rolled her eyes again. "Oh, please, sister. Stop quizzing us." Asrai sighed. "Must I be with you two cretins? The basilisk, the black snake, the red eyes." Asrai flicked her head straight ahead. Aine's eyes widened when she saw the sleek black body and the noticeable red frills. "Oh, we must run!" Aine said in her soft voice. "Why must we?" Aeval challenged. "They seem harmless. And I am sick of running!" The two looked like they were about to argue again. "Perhaps its aims are not for us, but for them." Asrai observed the black eyes of the basilisk, which were pointed straight at the group of three. "Then there is no problem!" Aeval sniffed disdainfully.

Before the kirin could reply, the Pegasus' nostrils flared suddenly and his head bounced up. His ears swivelled round to focus on the intense greenery ahead of him, as if he'd caught the scent of something suspicious on the wind. He stood rigid, poised like something hunted, and stared intensely ahead of him. Unlike Yingir's exceptional sight, Utoche's was considerably poorer. It was fact that Pegasi had sight a little better than their less-fantastical horse relatives - bad vision could prove dangerous whilst flying - but even now, Utoche was struggling to make out anything against the forest surrounding him. He could smell something, alright. But he couldn't make out what. His ears could, though. Voices, somewhere in the undergrowth. All female. More than one.
The gryphon, however, switched her head to sweep her pale gaze around the clearing. Thanks to the cold, humid air provided by the early morning aftereffects of the night's rainfall, her sense of smell was nowehere near as good as it was before. She could barely pick up anything, besides Utoche's usual, comfortingly familiar horsey smell, the faint tang of woodsmoke, and the general moistness of the soaked trees around her. She felt small and vulnerable. "Utoche, are you packed?" the gryphon asked without turning around, still gripping her black-tipped stick with both sharp-taloned claws. The Pegasus simply gave a small whicker and flicked his head in the direction of a pile of leather bands, straps and sacks hanging from the tree the gryphon had been nesting in the previous night.

At the sound of voices, Mel flickered eagerly into life. Her eyelids slid open as she rolled around on her back, attempting to flip onto her feet gracefully. Instead, she scrabbled onto her four legs as though she was stuck to the ground with something intensely sticky. She groaned, eyeing her master sulkily, decidedly too ill to do any walking, despite the fact that she barely walked at all. Her means of travel was a free ride on the back of Utoche. She wobbled towards Yingir, Utoche and the stranger with a look of a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e confusion. What's with pointy face? She reached out to Yingir with her mind, knowing it was useless. "I am hungry." She yelped angrily, expecting to be waited on hand and foot. Upon remembering Yingir was her master, she quietened without delay. When her alphas went into what she called 'Delta Mode', with their ears firmly sprung in one direction, she mimicked their exact motion and her eyed widened, now hollows of madness. She sprung into life and asumed a position of protection, her legs pointing outwards and her tail sprung in the air. "I will protect my master!" She barked aggressively, and started barking incessively. Usually, she'd make a complete and utter fool of herself, but she was confident she had it in her to fend off anything that may want to hurt her master. This time I will protect my master, and she will be protected, and she will say thank you, and she will be impressed, and I will be good! And I will protect my master!
yeah i dont know either.

Yingir whipped around to face the mongrel in front of her. Her eyes glazed over, like ice, and she sprang forwards. "Be quiet!" she hissed furiously, lashing out at the stumpy dog with one foreleg. She struck the animal with the safe side of her hand-like claw, hard enough to disturb her rigid stature, but not fatally enough to draw blood. Yingir then grabbed Mel by the flab on her back, and dragged her onto her belly so that the gryphon towered above her. "I don't want you waking up the whole forest with your stupidity. Now begone!" With a hard flourish, she released her servant, and backed away. (OOC: I was given permission to powerplay Melleh a bit) Slinking away with her ears drawn back, belly and tail swinging from side to side in shame, Mel crawled over to Utoche, as if hoping to hide behind him. The Pegasus simply gave a resentful snort and stepped away, flaring his wings slightly to show his disgust for the lowly animal. However, his eyes glowed with amusement, and he flickered his ears slightly. Tough luck. Then he turned to face Yingir, and secretly stated: Gira, we're not alone here. Would it be neccessary to break camp now? Mel's stupid and hallucinative, but even I suspect the unseen. Yingir frowned suddenly. "Then let's go," she said firmly. However, before turning away, she faced the kirin, cocked her head, and gently asked, "Would you care to accompany us?"

I would, Britten replied hesitantly, a little put off by Yingir's violience. She'd have to remember to keep even more quiet than she normally was. She flicked her tail over the scales on her back. Where are you headed?

Slinking away shamefully, Mel reminded herself that the whole 'guilt' thing was an act to gain her Master's respect. So far it had worked, getting away with but a scratch. When Utoche snorted at her, she looked up at him sadly, with chestnut eyes of amber glistening with wet, salty tears. Also an act to perhaps gain sympathy. Of course,it would work on a young girl, but for these hardy gypsies she would have to go to exrtreme lengths. OOC: Will continue later. Din-dins are ready. :3

While Aeval and Asrai bickered, Aine watched the gryphon and the winged horse. "Ummmummm.... I think they're looking at us." She whispered to her two sisters. "So let them hear us!" Aeval cried out, lashing her tail on the ground and creating large thudding sounds. "Hello there!" Aeval screamed, and Asrai butted her head with her own. "Stupid sister." Asrai repeated. "You have no common sense. The horse there eyes us with suspiction, while the gryphon has claws that are sharpened on bone." Aeval snorted. "Like I'll believe that." She said. "Besides, we've got a thick hide." She waggled her own portion of her body while Asrai rolled her eyes. "If only I could seperate with you two." She murmured. "Like I don't want to?" Aeval snorted again.

The gryphon dropped her blackened stick on the ground with neither care nor aggression. "Out of here, that's for sure," she explained in a low tone, running her eyes momentarily on the canopy of trees up above. She glanced at the Pegasus beside her. "It's been a while since either of us has flown. We've been under cover of the trees for too long." And for good reason, Utoche added with a dip of his head and a tall flick of his tail. He turned and pas-sed Mel a wary glance. Yingir acknowleged his words with a twitch of her head. She looked back at the Kirin with a new openess. "We're heading for open ground. A meadow or someplace similar. Yet since you're a rare creature, I'm simply wondering whether the lack of a wood would endanger you somehow." She tilited her head again, not mockingly this time, but more understandingly, and somehow, in a more inquisitive fashion. Like she was examaning a rare flower she'd been told about by a trusted superior. Yingir didn't like considering herself an expert, but she was certain she knew enough not to make her too ignorant of her fellow fantastical creatures. She'd heard that unicorns were exceptionally elusive and rarely ventured out onto open land; Yingir now quizzed whether their Kirin relatives were any similar. Suddenly a sharp cry broke through the air, like an arrow tearing through an undisturbed pool of water. In the same way it would leave a trail of glittering bubbles, Utoche gave a start, stiffening his head even more with his ears pressed forward. Yingir jumped with similar surprise, although by now she looked a little more adventurous. Had she ears, they would've been pricked upwards as keenly as Utoche's were.

Britten, too, was listening intently, looking much the same as Utoche was. When nothing more followed, she turned to Yingir. It might not be bad. A 'lack of wood', as you put it. I could become human then, she offered. Privately, Britten wondered if the gryphon would accept and let her go with them. She fervently hoped that she would. She had no idea where her Kirin mother was anymore, and her father and step-mother weren't too accepting of her. At this point, it was go with the gryphon and pegasus or become emancipated.

OOC: Welcome back, Feyth. Feel free to post when you're ready. c: The gryphon glanced momentarily away, as if considering the Kirin's words. She focused on the prickly leaf of a nearby holly bush for less than a second before returning her gaze to the one-horned animal. "Then feel free to follow along," she said coolly. "We could do with some new company." With that, she turned around, and made her way towards she oak tree. With a single bound she was scrabbling, although not desperately, in the lower boughs of the towering plant, slinking her way along the coarse bark as lined as an old man's face towards the bundles of leather tied to the branches around the midway section. Then, she lowered her body so that she lay across one branch like a leopard, and used her nimble claws to unfasten the leather bounds tying the mysterious packages to the tree. Once they were free, faded-gold buckles clunking noisily, she hoisted one around her "arm" and swifly dropped down as quickly as she'd climbed up. Once down, the gryphon stepped calmly towards Utoche and began re-fastening the bags of leather and pounches tied by string onto the Pegasus' body. The formation of the harness allowed the winged horse to comfortably carry his load without having his wings' movement limited. Metal clicked and leather sighed as Yingir quickly strapped them on with practiced ease. Then she dropped back down to all fours and looked expectantly at the Kirin. "Our provisions," she explained, indicating with a flick of her long cat-tail towards one water pouch tied securely to a strap of tough leather on Utoche's shoulder. She kept her eyes focused on the shape-shifter. "Our next destination is to buy more. There's a Myth-Market a distance away; that's where we're headed. Our only problem will be humans - there's quite a few farms up ahead. We'll have to be cautious, or we'll be caught."

OOC: Well, the whole lot of them are in some forest. Utoche, Yingir and Mel are due to depart, with Britten about to tag along. Tld's Hydra character(s) - Aeval, Aine and Asrai - are kinda lurking in the local greenery, sort of bickering between themselves, where a Basilisk called Styx also observes by himself. :)

Heleaso, also called Helio or Helia, depending on what gender you think it is. It usually thinks of itself as a female, althoguh there is nothing to prove or disprove this idea. Helia sighed and glared a tthe stream under her paw. It was a small stream, part of the reason she could step over it in one step, but it still was cold on this hot day. She stopped low to the water and dipped her great head into the refreshing band of H2O. She wondered, as she lapped up the water, if there were others like her. Other angel dragons, no, probably not. Their kind died out. She was a hybrid, a dragon, angel, and water dragon. She was just the last possible hope for their kind, but she didn't want to be. Helia sighed and lifted ehr head to the sky, stretching her great white and gold wings to take off when she heard voices talkng about Myth market...

OOC: Myth-Market reminds me of Monster Donuts from Percy Jackson :) Understood, the Kirin said, pawing a bit at the ground. Need help carrying anything? She felt a sort of obligation to help out; the gryphon was being kind enough to allow her to join them. Britten didn't want to be a freeloader.
