The current seemed to cooperate with Sword Master, pulling them diagonally towards and along the shore. The boat was losing speed, but was by no means stable as the waves seemed to rebel against the peaceful currents.
Whether we wanted it or not, we\'ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let\'s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta\'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He\'s well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Madi just looked stunned at the voices she was hearing, and found some comfort in the fact that everyone else was hearing them as well. At least I'm not mad... she thought to herself positively.
"Mummy, who's that speaking?" Caitlyn asked, lifting up her head for a moment. Ambrosia frowned. They must be all hearing the same thing. "I don't know, Cait," she replied, calmer than she really was, "We'll find out soon enough thought, I suspect." They both kept scooping their hands through the water, being more careful of the rocks that littered their path.

I can't watch! moaned the female voice as a particularily nasty wave lifted the tiny boat and hurled it towards the shore. There is the snap of timber, the roaring crescendo of the waves – and then silence as everyone goes under. The rapids make it impossible to swim clear, then suddenly a wave catches everybody and flings them contemptuously up on to the beach, battering and bedraggling them.

Holly pushed herself off the sand and into a sitting position, coughing and spitting out water. Ebony sat up and looked in the directionof the noise. "Oh come on! You don't even need to breathe!" She spluttered, shooting a glare at Holly. Wharshin got to his feet and set about drawing the moisture from his clothes, but other than that he seemed completely unaffected.

Ambrosia dived from the boat as it was flung ashore, clutching Caitlyn tightly in her arms. They were hurled upon the sand, coughing and spluttering. Ambrosia got up weakly, and then helped up Caitlyn. She looked around for any sign of civilisation.
"Aarghh!" Madi yelled when she fell off the side of the boat. She was carried roughly along beside it by the wave, and crashed onto the beach with a thud. She spat out the sand and burning salt water she had taken into her mouth.
Azon clung to the inside of the boat as it was carried by the wave, terrified. Sailing, or swimming for that matter, had never been his talent. When the boat hit the shore, it buckled beneath him, and snapped into many pieces. Large splinters lodged themselves in his arms and legs, and others gave him cuts and bruises all over. "Is everyone okay?" he croaked.

Sword Master pulled himself up off the sand and then looked around for Bow Wielder. He found him, his head and right arm stuck in the sand. He smiled and pulled Bow Wielder out, who proceeded to cough and splutter sand. "I think we are all alright."

"My condition is acceptable. " Wharshin said as the water was pulled from his clothes to the ground. "I like water." Ebony said simply, getting to her feet and brushing herself off. She then realised that she had lost her beret to the waves. "But not this water, damn it. That hat was ten pigeons!" Holly got up and stretched, checking for any injuries that weren't clearly visible. "I'm fine. Are you? Those splinters look nasty."

Azon had barely noticed his own injuries, but now that he looked down at the splinters on his arms and legs, he winced. "Um, yeah, I think I'll be fine." he replied, and began painfully pulling out shards of wood.

A man and women came running towards them. The man struggled to hold onto both his hat and the wooden cane he carried, which had a leather bag tied to the end. The women had her long dress hoisted to her knees so she could run faster. "Thank the Maker!" the man cried. "You're alive!"

Madison's eyes widened at their voices. "Wai' a minute... ye'r them voices I 'eard on the boat!" she exclaimed. Ambrosia realised that they were as well, and was cautious to follow them. She made sure Caitlyn was behind her. Azon got up, having plucked all the pieces of wood from his body, and stepped towards the man and the woman. "I'll follow, just... who are you, exactly?" he asked.

Azon was suspicious at first, but dismissed that and followed anyway. Madison followed, hot on Azon's heels. She didn't know where they were going, but it sounded like a lot more fun than starving on a beach. Ambrosia held Caitlyn's hand and walked briskly after Alvir. "What are the shadows, mummy?" Caitlyn asked, a hint of fear in her voice. "I don't know, but come on, walk quickly. It's best if we keep up." Ambrosia replied, glancing behind them.
