Jake and Tracey shot through the pouring rain. It was so thick that you could barely see in front of you. Jake was literally dragging Tracey, and tripped over a stone, falling into the mud. Tracey tried to pull him up, and a small trail of blood was now running down Jake's leg. "Lets go!" He said, and skidded through the wet leaves. Soon they saw a cave, and Jake stuck his head in to be sure nothing else was in there. He grabbed Tracey by her arm and darted inside. Jake immeadiately collasped from exaugstion. "Tracey, its ok. Everything is gonna be fine." He said, seeing his younger sister crying. He pulled her down and yanked her head to his chest, and hugged the sobbing girl. 

"Where is home?" Tracey asked, tears still muddling her words. Jake began silently crying. "I think its here." He said, hugging her tighter. 

Suddenly, a sharp breeze went through the cave. It sounded hard, like nails on a chalkboard. The area began to get so dark that even a bat couldn't see. Then, the small cave's walls appeared to be swirling around the two crying kids, and Tracey's eyes got wide as it seemed that a figure was emerging. It was a shadow.

The shadow didn't seem to be all that large, more like a boy size. Its edges were hard, not like the normal soft edges of a shadow. It was as if there was a being there, not one casting the shadow. Then, to their biggest horror, a sound came from the shadow.

"Are you afraid of the dark?" 

Chris broke his gaze from her, grimacing. He stood up. When he had looked at her, something inside him had awakened. Without a second word he walked away, hands in his pockets. He couldn't bare to hurt another child, stuck here. He sighed and suddenly, his head snapped upwards. His nostrils flared and his eyes narrowed. A faint rumbling came form his chest as he growled. He broke into a swift sprint, moving unnaturally fast for a human child. Then he saw where the smell had originated. A small cave. The rain pounded on his back and he looked up curiously. It had been snowing before. Now it was raining? But he shrugged it off and ran for the cave. What he saw made the beast within him roar. He let out a low and threatening growl. He dropped to all fours, his bones seeming more natural in this position. he bared his teeth and let out an inhuman snarl, directed to the shadow being that stood before Jake and Tracey. He growled in a low and deep tone. A threatening growl. All creatures on the island knew when another creature was near them. Chris was special that way. He looked like a human child among real human children. But it a creature not human caught a whiff of him, they would know he's no where near human. His growl vibrated through the cave.

Serenity watched as Chris took off away from Rosaline at an inhuman pace. "Thts so weird." she said to herself. Then she look at the sky as it suddenly changed from snow to rain. She sighed then She stepped through the tree she was hiding behind and approached Rosaline. "Hi Rose." she said softly as she strode up to her.

"Ser, thank goodness...", Rosaline sighed in relief, smiling as her friend cane from the woods, "What's with Chris? He just took off..."

Red light of fires. Blackness. Loneliness. Pouring rain. Trinity, only twelve years old, trudged through the downpour. Trinity's hair looked strange at the moment; it was mostly bleached white, except for the strands of hair here and there that were black. Her mother, not too long before now, had dyed Trinity's snow white hair black so that she could blend in with humans. Now it was washing out. But now her mother was dead. She couldn't have survived.

Trinity's shirt that was already too large for her was soaked, as were her jeans which were now heavy and dragged. Another strange thing about her was the fact that she was wearing a pair of leather black gloves which fit her hands perfectly. She had worn them for pretty much all her life...

She made her way towards a cave, where there would be shelter even if she would be cold. She stayed there and rested for a while, listening to the winds moan, when two other children came in. Trinity, though, was in the shadows and they didn't see her. Then came another thing... Something frightening that belonged in a nightmare. And it spoke.

"Are you afraid of the dark?"

Jacoby sat in the middle of a crumbling road, his hands over his face. He glanced around, a few tears slidding down his face. He had no idea what was happening, or what had happened for that matter...

A small black... eer, puppy stumbled through the rain, yelping pitifully in fear. She glanced around, her fur was fluffed up as much as it could against the chilly weather. She glanced around, not knowing where she was. The last she could remember was her mothers jaws releasing her in the middle of nowhere, and then watching as she ran away from her, the little puppy's legs had been to short to keep up with the fast adult. Scourge's eyes glowed through the dim light. She tilted her short muzzle to the sky, throwing a whining noise into the air.

Trinity’s ears heard yet another voice, coming from behind the shadow. The voice was low and almost sounded like a growl. It rang with authority, which was strange. Trinity felt that the person who had spoken was not a human. The presence was more like hers yet a little bit different. And it was powerful, too. She took her thought off of that and returned her attention to the shadow. Trinity simply decided to call it a nightmare, because it spoke and looked exactly what she had seen in her worst dreams.

She took off her leather black gloves. Her hands were deathly pale, and seemed like they glowed silver. She tried hard to concentrate, closing her eyes, holding her palms so that they faced the ‘nightmare’. Slowly more and more silver light gathered where her palms were. Soon there was what looked like a bullet made out of silver light. Trinity gasped for breath and opened her eyes. As soon as she did so the bullet shattered into pieces, dropped to the floor, and then faded.

She had been too tired to use the trick, and she hadn’t stolen anybody’s luck recently, so she couldn’t have done it properly anyway. She guess she’d have to rely on whatever was challenging the frightening beast.  

((Really sorry. Guys Ive been so sick Im using blankets to block the sun from my bedroom, and I have the big state tests this week too, so I have to go to school. Im sorry :( Yes Nono you can join, and the rp starts when your characters are young, and time goes on. Right now, the kids have just come to the island like within the past week. Sorry for any confusion.))

Jake and Tracey both eeped, stunned with terror. Jake didn't know what to do. He backed up. He did not know whether to trust the shadow, or not. The boy seemed wild, and he couldn't be trusted, that was for sure. Not yet.

"Silly, a shadow can not be gone. Shadows will always excist, in the corner of your heart, in the edge of a room, etc. And if you are so niave to think that I would honestly hurt these young children, or you, you are wrong. Im just a p*censored*erby, wandering, without purpose. That is the envitable life of a shadow. And now, if you will please let me go on, I may be able to help you all." Leo smiled slyly. "Unless, you do want me to read through your mind, and see the dark times of your past."

"Your- your a shadow?" Tracey quivered, her breath wavering. "But- thats- thats not possible!" She sputtered. Jake held her closer, and then stood, holding his ground. "We don't need help." He said, his voice quavering slightly. Leo smirked. "Oh really?" He began to stretch his form, and bent over Jake. Tracey shot her small hand through the air, touching the black swirls the shadow was made of. Leo darted backward, shocked that someone had touched him. Tracey held her hand, that felt as if it had been shocked. "What, what just happened?" She asked Jake. Jake shook his head. "Do, do you know?" Jake asked, looking at the other boy.

Trinity finally spoke up. “I think… he’s safe. I don’t think he’s going to kill us,” she said. All the same she gazed at the thing made of darkness. Outside the rain poured down ever harder. Trinity knew that the night was crawling along. In an hour or two the sun would rise…
