Hey little one, it looks like you're awake.

Leanna smiled, her tears immediately drying.

Guess what? We are going to my home. Back to elven country for me, and you get to visit where you come from.

Leanna smiled. Emmy definitely would like the elven houses. No secret rooms to suck you in.

Soon, Leanna could see familiar lights up ahead. As they got closer, the light got brighter, and Leanna saw some elves hunched over their tools, making weapons, food, and all the essentials to do something big. These elves were going to start a war. They saw them approaching and immediately pointed their weapons at the group, but someone shouted Hey look! That's Leanna!

Everyone immediately jumped up and bowed to her. Apparently, Leanna wasn't the only person who knew she was queen. Kyle nudged her in the back.

They want you Leanna. I think they want to have some sort of coronation.

I don't know Kyle, I'm kinda nervous.

Come on, you give them hope. Most of them probably thought you were dead, and the few who thought you were alive might have considered that you were hurt.

Well, Ok...

Leanna handed Emmy to Kyle and walked up to them, beaming. In a couple seconds a crazed elf shot an arrow at her, narrowly missing. All the other elves attacked the one who shot the arrow, and Leanna turned around to see who the arrow had hit. She immediately started sobbing.

KYLE!

She ran over, her face washed with tears, and looked at his form, crumpled on the floor. He had been hit in the stomach. He would not survive long.

Why does this always happen to the people I love! Kyle, please don't go, I can save you...

She pressed his hand against her cheek.

You can't go. Y-y-you

She hated that this was when Emmy had to find out, but she was going to hear anyways, and Leanna needed him to stay with her.

You proposed to me Kyle, you can't leave.

I love you, Leanna. Take it easy on yourself. I'll miss you every day, but we will be together again now won't we.

As Kyle fell into a deep, trance like sleep, Leanna looked at the crowd of elves staring at her. There were some amazing healers still left, way beyond her skill level. They could save Kyle, they had too...

Well, don't just stand there, some healer do something. We can't lose him, we just can't...

Her sentence trailed as an elf came and picked Kyle up. She recognized him. He was the best elf healer in the land. Leanna grabbed Emmy's hand and dragged her along after the man with Kyle. She would never loose sight of the two of them ever again, that is, if Kyle survived. Leanna couldn't go on if Kyle wasn't there, she just couldn't.

Leanna ignored everyone's pestering questions. All she could focus on was Kyle, and how he was slowly slipping away from her. She would know it when he died, like she was sure Kyle had known when Leanna had died. He was slipping from her head, his warm and reassuring presence was quietly oozing away. He was dieing. It had never been more real to her.

I'm so sorry Kyle. I'm like a jinx to everyone. I shouldn't be near anyone I care about.

They finally reached an elven hospital. The doctors rushed Kyle in, and they told Leanna that no one was supposed to go inside. She cried even harder, and looked around at her home. There was nothing here that was familiar. All the trees had grown, the houses were covered in ivy from lack of care, and the elves were more solemn and fierce. None of it had the warm feeling her land always had, none of it could lift her up from the pit of despair she was in. In the distance, she heard the sounds of elves screaming and yelling, no doubt they were killing the one who had attacked Kyle. It was considered treason to hurt another elf, and the fact that the other elf was Kyle just added on top of that. Leanna wasn't really upset that the elf was dieing, she quite enjoyed his agonizing screams. He deserved to pay for what he had done.

Leanna wasn't even sure that anyone had followed her, her eyes were so blurry with tears, but she said it anyway. If Emmy was there, she should know Leanna was leaving. Permanently.

Leanna rushed through the trees, her memory her only guide back to the palace. Back to home. She finally reached the marble steps and walked up, taking in the familiar sent of pine and roses. This was definitely her home. She ran in, and walked through the hallways until she came to her old room. She was the only person who knew the key to the door, not even Kyle or her parents knew how to get in without her permission. She softly whispered:

I am the princess, and I am the servant of elves. I will be the queen, but I will give all I have to the lowly. I will try to be perfect, but I will fail. I will be kind, but I shall force my hand of justice on those who do wrong. I am the light that shines in the darkness, but the darkness lives in me. I am the complete opposite of the world.

Slowly, the door swung open, letting her see the enormous room in front of her. She walked in and quickly turned around and locked the door. No one was to get in. She sat down on her bed, and began to cast a spell on herself. It was a spell that would keep her asleep for hundreds, if not thousands of years. She could no longer be a jinx in here. The people she loved would be perfectly safe, no one could get through the door without her, and she would be taking a nice long nap.

Goodbye Kyle, goodbye Emmy. Have a nice life, I won't be there to jinx it anymore.

She said the final words of her spell, and fell into a deep peaceful sleep. Kyle and Emmy would think she was dead, and they would most likely fall apart, but that was a small price to pay for their safety.

The zombie hovered over Emmy as she was to petranized to even scream. Emmy then remembered the pistol she had hid under her blood stained gown. She pointed it to him, her hands violently shaking. The Zombie was oddly smart. It was the first created zombie.

Her dream she had while unconscious, Those scientist weren't experimenting on her! It was a vision of how all these terrible zombies were made!

The zombie smaked the gun out of Emmy's hand. It looked as if he was trying to talk. "Mmrrr" it said loudly. It mumbled on, but she could make out what it said... "I need help."
