Moka watched as the other gerbils were captured. "Who's afraid now?" She taunted.

Splash sighed.

Ginger was nicely reas.sured when Bob handled her.  The other girl - Larah, was it? - wasn't handling her.  That was good.  She was scary, and probably didn't know much.

[Whisp is being bored.]

[Ish munches.]

Sarah smiled at Bob.  "Ok.." she took the cage's good and water, then dumped out the water in the sink, and the food in the garbage.  The bedding was also put in the trash can.  "Next, clean the filthy cage," she directed herself.  Going to the sink, the blonde scrubbed the cage clean.  Drying it, she found the sack of bedding and hauled it over, filling it up to the line on the cage.  She then took the now-empty water bottle and put nice, fresh, clean water in it.  Fixating the bottle in its place in the cage, she found the bag of Gerbil food next to the bag of bedding.  Then, ever so carefully, she poured it into the small metallic bowl that was the gerbils' food bowl.  A few pieces fell out, but she scooped them up and threw them away.  Placing the food in the cage, she took the brown log burrow-thing toy and stuck it in the place where it usually was.  Then, she put in a small plastic tube for them to chew on.  For a little something extra, she left a few pieces of celery behind.  She did the same with every other cage.  It was long, grueling work.  In the end, every cage was clean and put back where they were supposed to be.  "Phew!" Sarah said, tired.  Walking over to Bob, she asked him, "Any other job?"  Sarah smiled.

Ginger was happy to be put back in her cage - even if by a stray hand, this time.  But, surprisingly, the hand was nice and gentle and caring.  She didn't know this girl much, but she could tell that they could be good friends.  Squeaking with delight, there was a nice treat in her cage.  "Yay!" she squealed.  Scurrying over, she took a piece of the celery and nibbled on it.  "You know, this new girl isn't too bad," she squeaked to her sister Sandy in-between bites.

[Frost awaits Angel]

"It feels good to be cleaned again. Especially with Bob's special touch." Sandy said, smiling. She sniffed the air, so clean. It smelled like soap. She sighed, her soap smelled like cinnamon. Then Ginger and her were put back in their cage, well a newly fresh, clean cage. All the other gerbils had fresh, clean cages too. "Thats true. She did give us celery. Let's give her a shot. Look, new gerbils!" SHe could see two men coming in with two new gerbils.

"Hmm, let's see. Other jobs...Well, would you like to do more jobs where you're involved with the animals. Or, something like the cash register?" He asked her, curiously.

[Ivy is bored by Splash]

(We should do a time skip to tomorrow, Sarah's birthday)

Ginger smiled.  "She sure does earn a chance," she replied.  Then, nibbling on her celery some more, she looked around at the other cages.

[Ish munches.]

Sarah smiled.  "I like the animals," she replied.  "That's why I got the job here, mainly.  But I can work the register, too, it's no problem."

Moka sighed, then continued running, as if nothing had even happened. What would happen to those gerbils? Pfft. As if she cared. She continued runnning, looking for something to eat.

Splash laid down.

(Okay....*TIME-SKIP*TO NEXT DAY)

Opal went into her daughters room, she had a birthday cake in one hand. "Sarah! Wake up. Happy Birthday! I've got cake and presents. I love youuuu." SHe took the covers off Sarah and set the cake on a table next to her bed, then put presents on Sarah's bed.

Ginger sweetly slept inside her brown log burrow.  Her eyes flickered open.  Getting up as so not to disturb her sister, she ate some breakfast and had some water.

Whisp didn't want to get up.  She was tired.  Her dream was so perfect... Why does the real world's calling have to shatter it?  Nevertheless, she scampered over to the food bowl for b-fast. [b-fast=breakfast.]

Vyn could notice his sister was up.  "Would you keep it down?"  he asked her.  The water bottle's dripping while she drank was annoying.  Like most things.  Whisp seemed to ignore him - AGAIN.

Ish rubbed his eyes.  This morning, breakfast wouldn't be too hard to find.  He had some berries left over from yesterday - just enough to fill up his tummy.  But for dinner, he'd have to go searching again.

Sarah's eyes fluttered open.  She was disturbed by a loud voice.

WAIT.

TODAY WAS HER BIRTHDAY!!!

Jumping out of bed, she jumped about, screaming, "IT'S MAH B-DAY, IT'S MAH B-DAY!!"

That thought sure woke her up.

The blonde hugged her mother.  Then, she saw the cake - navy blue, her favorite color!  "Thanks so much! The cake is perfect!  And, oh - presents.  You shouldn't have!"  She lifted up the bag.  A button said 'PRESS HERE.'  So she pressed.  The whole bag lit up.  "Awwww! So cute!"  Then she opened it.  A gift card?  To where?  Flipping it over, she saw a familiar logo - the Pet Shop!  "You got me a gift card to the Pet Shop?! Omigosh!  Now I can get a pet, too! Thanks soooooooooo much!!"

Sandy finally saw her sister get up, she had woken up earlier, but lately she heard some insults on how she wakes everone up, so this morning she was extra quiet and resisted the urge to eat a few sunflower seeds, but now that Ginger was awake she could.

"Oh, darling you know I'll always get you birthday presents. It's no big deal. Now, on that gift card there is enough for exactly four gerbils, today we'll go and get your four, and I'll get two. Since all mine are dead now." She hugged her daughter back. "But wait, there's still more in the bag. I got you a Cd, Honey." She went to go cut the cake, she came back with two plates of cake, Sarah's piece was larger than her own, and forks, and two gl*censored*es of milk. "When should we go to the pet store? Now? Soon? Later?"

Shadow woke up, blinking her eyes to adjust to the light. Oh, right. Just another boring day at the pet shop. With nothing to do or say.

Frost woke up, that night he had rested with Angel for warmth, since it was a new evironment and they both needed comfort. He woke up Angel with all his moving around, he saw that there was people coming in, who were they? What did they do? He wished he could talk to an experienced gerbil, but the only gerbil in his cage is Angel who knew as much as him about this place, which was nothing.

Ivy woke up, she saw that Splash was still sleeping, she sighed. So this was the life, huh?

Sarah smiled.  "Awww! I always liked those gerbils!" she said gleefully.  "And the Blake Eyed Peas!  I love them!" The girl was overjoyed.  She couldn't believe it!  "And, mom?  After I get dressed and eat, then we can go."  Poking her piece of cake with her fork, she started to eat the delicious morsel.

"If I only knew. I"m happy we're in a cage together, but I wish someone who knew what this place was, you know. Experienced. Was in here because they could tell us what this place is. Also, what all these people are doing here, last interaction I had with a human was when they took us here, and that wasn't exactly good. How should I trust them?" Frost said, worriedly.

"Sure. I've still got to get ready also. I'm still in my night gown! I knew you'd love the present. I don't get why you like the Blick Shy Pees but I guess it's your kind of music!" Opal said, she went out of her daughters room, did the dishes, and then took a shower.

Sarah got up, brushed her hair, changed into some casual yet pretty clothes, then went to brush her teeth.  Finishing up, she noticed that the cake was sort of like her breakfast.  Cool!  Dessert for breakfast!  Grabbing her green Columbia jacket, she took the Pet Shop gitf card and put it in her pocket.  "Ready, mom!  You almost done?" she asked.

"Hmmm, interesting. Where do they get this money?" Ivy thought about this.

[Frost  awaits Angel]

"Just finished Sweetie!" She went out by the front door, then grabbed her keys. "Am I driving?" She walked out to her car, and waited for Sarah, who ended up getting there before her because she's a slow walker, and uses a cane. She waited for Sarah to answer before picking what side of the car to go on, otherwise it'd just take longer.

"Oh. Those humans have such a weird lifestyle. Well, I think I'm out of questions, I'll let you know if something else comes up." Ivy laid her head down.
