"They should be here soon" Willa's dad said. "Good, because I'm getting worried!" WIlla said. WEEWOO WEEWOO The animal ambulance arrived. The vet stepped out of it and started to examine Blessings and Chocolate. "The brown one will live. A few minor injuries and a major injury over here..." the vet pointed to CHocolate's right back leg "...but we can fix that." "What about Blessings?" WIlla asked anxiously. "I'm...not too sure about her. SHe has many deep cuts and she is bleeding badly. We must treat her immediatley or...or else she might not make it" the vet said solemnly. They lifted the two horses onto stretches and put them in the ambulance. "We'll do everything we can, sir. We should now the results in a few weeks" the vet said to Willa's dad. Then they drove off.

"I'm glad that Chocolate will live, but what about poor Blessings?" Crystal said. Then she looked at the window, then back at Willa. She sighed. "Well, all we can do is hope that Blessings will live."

"I'm glad CHocolate will be okay, Crystal But I will really miss Blessings if she..." WIlla couldn't finish. "I'm hoping as hard as I can" Willa stared out the window at the sky. "It's almost lunchtime. Would you like to join me for lunch?" Willa asked, changing the subject.

"Me too!" WIlla giggled. Willa's mom handed them both a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. "Who is this?" Willa's mom asked, pointing to Crystal. "Oh, this is Crystal. I just met her today, but we're already great friends!" Willa grinned "She has a horse, too!"

Jai stared at the barrel as it neared. "Here!" She shouted and nudged Sis with her left foot. The quarter horse responded and rounded the steel barrel, shooting to the second. At the command from her rider, she switched leads a few strides before rounding that one as well. "Here!" Jai shouted once more at the third barrel and leaned away from the turn to keep Sis in balance. They knocked the barrel, but it didnt tip as they shot away. At the end of the round pen, Sis slid to a stop, her hindquarters tucking neatly under. Jai laughed and slapped the horse good naturedly. "C'mon, Sis. This's just practice." Stroking the sorrel mare, she ran her hands through the mane, cropped for the summer; the horse had a bad habit of rubbing her neck on trees, getting her mane caught in the bark or branches. The distant sound of a siren interrupted them, causing Jai to look up and frown. What had happened now?
