Jason whirled around, giving Deomi a hard shove. She staggered back a few feet, giving him some breathing space. "You think I wanted my throat slit? You think I wanted to leave my baby sister alone with my mom? No." He curled his hands into fists at his sides. "Back off. You're acting like you're the only person here who left loved ones behind. Like you're the only one who died before their time." He lifted his hand to his mouth, slicing open his palm with one fang.

Marbled blood dripped down his arm. "See that?" he hissed, holding his hand out towards her. "Gold and silver. But if you look close enough, there's also a little black in there..." He clenched his palm, tucking it into his pocket.

"You can thank my dad for that."

Josh pressed the tip of his dagger to her stomach. He smiled coolly, black eyes unwavering. "Didn't your mother ever tell you not to corner a man with a knife?" He laughed harshly; it was a short, cold noise. Her knife dug into his throat painfully. "Drop your weapon and I'll drop mine."

Sarah frowned, trying to ignore the bickering. "So," she said, clearing her through quietly. "I'm really, really sorry about what happened back there. If you don't want to talk to me I'll totally understand..."

Deomi snorted, "you are such a hipocrite!" she yelled, "you say I act like I'm think that I am the only one going through this, are you even listening to yourself? Did I ever say you didtn have a choice." she could feel the hot tears again, "did I ever say you wanted to leave anything behind? No. All of us here did. Even that Josh kid. He lost something too when he died."

Ashlee snorted, "no way, drop yours first." she said sharply, "or better yet, tell me who you are and what you want and I might let you leave with your life."

Liam shrugged, "you cant help being Vampire and more than I acn help being a Shifter." he said.

"His sense of right and wrong?" Jason yelled back at her. His ears were started to ring slightly, as they always did when he got angry. He wanted to wrap his fingers around her neck and squeeze until she stopped moving. But he didn't. He knew it was wrong.

"If you like him so much, why don't you go tell him that, huh?" His eyes stung. "He tried to light us on fire because you wouldn't sleep with him. I can't even begin to imagine what you see in him." His palm, where it had been sliced open, was already healing.

"But i bit your friend," Sarah said, tone colored with surprise. "Aren't you at least a little bit angry?"

Josh only smile and oblidged, dagger dropping to the ground with a clatter. He didn't need a knife to kill anyway. "You can call me Josh," he said, a dangerous gleam in his eyes. "And I'm here because I can be."

"What I see in him?" Deomi crossed her arms, "what I see in him is a humanity that's been lost. Who the hell are you to judge anyone. Technically, we shouldnt even exist. The only reason we are angels and not demons is because we didnt die while doing something bad."

Liam raised one eyebrow, "confused as hell, yes, angry, not so much. I tend to not get angry." he said simply

"Fair enough." Ashlee said, pulling her knife away from Josh and putting it back in its sheath, "I'm Ashlee. But mostly everyone just calls me Ash." she said. She had met several other demons in this city, and yet, none were alive at the moment. Someone had killed them one by one....oh yeah, that had been her.((XD))

"Maybe your an angel," Jason said stubbornly, "But I'm not. Not completely, anyways. And I didn't do anything wrong." He growled under his breath. "He deserved everything he ever got."

Sarah didn't press the issue any further. "Perhaps we should go check on them. I smell blood; maybe they started fighting."

"Nice to meet you Ashlee," He said, not holding out a hand for her to shake. Josh believed stuff like that was absolutely corny. "What would a fine young woman like yourself be doing hiding up on a rooftop?" 

((BAAD ASHLEEE XD))

"Hiding?" Ashlee snorted, "please. I dont 'hide.' People hide from me. I am up here to abserve. You can see a lot from up here." she said with a shrug.

Liam raised one eyebrow, "I wouldnt recommend that, Deomi will be likely to turn on us if we tried to stop a fight."

Deomi rubbed her temples, "what the hell! Have you not ben listening at all?! if I were an angel, wouldnt my wings be white? But they arent, cuz I'm not perfect. And I want to go back to being just dead."

Josh nodded, staring into the distance for a moment. He frowned. "Damn. Looks like those fire-people put out the nice fire I made in the library."

"I think you should go back to being dead too!" Jason spat, crossing his arms over his chest. There was a minute of silence before he said more gently, "Er... I didn't mean that."

~

"What do we do then?" Sarah asked with a frown. 

Ashlee rolled her eyes, "i saw the whle thing. Pathetic attempt to burn a building. When paper burns it's easy to put out. you should have sparked an electrical fire, now they expect arson."

Deomi's tears felt hot on her cheeks, "no, your right. I'd go back if I could, but I can't seem to die. Not even broken and left on the street. I'm sorry I'm strong enough to live." she said. She tried to stop her tears as she pushed past him and out into the street. She was to upset to hide her wings, and she gots some wierd looks from people on the sidewalk. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand. She had no idea where she was going. And she honestly didnt care.

"Wait." Liam said, sitting down on his bed, "Deomi always finds her way back here in the end, she even has her own room, so now that I know she's alive she's bound to come back." he wronkled his nose, "and I can smell that Jason is still nearby at the moment, you Vampires really have a, er, unique scent." he said with a slight grin.

Josh smiled slowly, running a hand through his shaggy blonde hair. "You sure do know your stuff," he purred. "Know how to rid the world of an angel and a half-blood, though?"

Sarah scowled at him. "I never said your scent was pleasant either," she sniffed. "I just had the decency to be polite about it." She smiled, sitting down next to him on the bed. "She always comes back, huh? You must be a really good friend, then."

~

Jason shook his head, jogging after her. He was sure to make his wings invisible so he would be able to pas s others without a problem. When he caught up, his hand was gentle on her shoulder. "Stop," he panted. "You don't mean that. You wouldn't leave Liam behind again, Deomi, and you know it." His sides heaved; he wasn't as in shape as he used to be. "I didn't mean what I said back there. I was just mad and I was letting my demon blood mess with my head..." 

"Damn right I know my..." her voice trailed off, "A half blood? Why would you want to kill one? Its much more fun to just let their inner demonout and watch them basically destroy themselves." she said with a snort.

Liam sighed, "I guess. I've known her since we were little kids." he smiled, "once, when when I was eleven and she was ten, I tried to convince her we werent related and boy was she fixed on the fact that I was the big brother she never had."

Deomi's wings slowly faded away as she noticed the people staring at her, "How do you know I won't leave Liam behind? I've done it once, and was doing just fine until you showed up." The tears started again, and she made no attempt to stop them, "but now what can i do? I have no job, the cops are probably looking for me at my apartment, and I have an insane thirst for human blood. And lets not even talk about Josh! That psycopath could be listening to this entire thing." she realised after a moment, she was having hysterics and jsut rambling on and on.

((*cough cough* perfect time for a kiss, when the girls freaking out and needs to stop talking XD *cough* btw, have u noticed I'm sick and have a cough? XDXDXD))

Josh only blinked curtly at her and said, "My reasons are my own. Apparently I couldn't get rid of him properly the first time I tried. And the second, for that matter." He pulled something out of his back pocket. The paper glistened as if it was woven out of gl*censored*.

"I suppose you know what this is," he said. "Undead Weekly. You're all over the front page." He grinned, pointed teeth glittering in the sunlight. "I was hoping I'd run into you. I know you're more into killing demons, but..." Pulling out a hundred dollar bill, he showed it to her. "Perhaps I could persuade you to get rid of a certain angel?"

"I had a friend like that," Sarah chimed, thinking. "I think his name was Damien. He was awesome." Then she frowned, staring at her feet. "But he was killed by a drunk driver when we were 14."

~

Jason frowned at her, clearly not listening. He took his hand off of her shoulder, placing one finger over her lips.  "Shhh," he said, eyes staring into hers. The air around them was charged with electricity. His skin burned where he brushed against her. 

Pulling his finger back, he leaned in, pressing his lips against hers. His wings spread out from his back to hide them from the rest of the world.

Deomi all but went limp in Jason's arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. Even though his wing's were around the two of them, she didnt care if anyone else was there. Back when she was alive, nothing had made her feel like this before. Not even kissing Liam, and he had been a good kisser.((XD)) He had never given her the insane butterflies she felt right now. And although the feeling was incredibly wierd, she liked it.

Ashlee laughed, and took the money from his hand, "Now you are speaking my language, "but why, may I ask, am I killing this Angel for you?" she asked, tucking a loose strand of her long blonde hair behind one ear.

"If you don't mind my asking." Liam Began slowly, "how long ago were you a human? I mean, how long have you been a vampire?"

{ I was on my cellphone at lunch. ;3 }

Sarah blinked, realizing with shock that she had to actually think about that. "Whats the year.... 2010?" She smiled slowly, running a hand through her hair. "That would make it... 537 years since I've been human." She chuckled. "I was changed 1473 at the age of 16."

Jason pulled back. Not because he didn't like it, that was actually the complete opposite of what he felt, but because he believed it inappropriate to kiss a girl who might still have a thing for Liam. That, and they didn't know each other well.

"I hate it when people cry," he said softly.

~

Josh pursed his lips. "Always wanting to know more, aren't you? Well, I cannot say. But consider it an IOU. Trust me; I know people. And sooner or later you may need my help." His eyes glinted.  

Liam raised one eyebrow, "Well, I became a wolf at seventeen, but I was a normal human in 1997 I think." he said.

Deomi's thoughts were spinning and it took her mind a minute to clear up, ""and thats one way to make them stop." she said softly, taking a slight step backwards. She glanced around slightly embaras.sed, but was happy to see that nobody was really staring.

Ashlee shrugged, "I don't need anyone's help, but whatever, now do you mind telling me who, exactly, I'm after?" she asked.

Josh nodded and gave Ashlee a detailed deion of Jason and Deomi. "Good luck," he purred. "Though I doubt you'll really need it."

Jason smiled slowly, letting his wings rest against his sides again. He shoved his hands on his sweater pockets; they were shaking slightly. "Maybe we should get back, now." he suggested. "I'm sure Sarah and Liam are waiting back at the house."

~

"That wasn't too long ago," Sarah said, blinking in surprise. "I would have thought you older." It felt awkward sitting next to Liam in silence. She resisted the urge to move closer and just stared at the door. 

Ashlee laughed, "luck is for beginners. but since I've got two targets, want to tag along?" she asked, "I could show you the ropes I suppose." she said witha lazy wave of her hand, "It would be intresting to have an apprentice, per say."

Deomi nodded, "yeah, lets hurry up." she said, starting to walk back toward Liam's apartment, "do you think Josh will be out for revenge still?" she asked quietly.

Liam nodded, "yeah well, I was good at being what I am. I was a good leader." he shrugged.

"I make a better follower than leader," Sarah said with a smirk. "i tend to get overwhelmed in difficult situations."

 ~

"Doubt it," Jason said calmly, smiling. "He's probably in bed with a human woman right now and has completely forgotten all about us. Demons are like that." He trailed after her slightly, preferring to walk behind Deomi than beside her.

"Apprentice?" Josh scowled at her. "I may not make my living by murder as you do, but I can still brandish a knife." He smiled, then nodded as to take up her offer. "I'd love to come along. There's a shifter and a vampire who look particularly fond of the two targets. You may be as strong as you are pretty, but I don't think you could take on four at once." He winked.

Liam smirked, "then you'd make a horrible shifter. Difficult is the definition of our lives" he laughed.

Deomi shrugged, "I don't know, he didnt seem like most demons." she said, shuddering lightly, "he was kind of scarier."

"you doubt my skills." Ashlee said with a small smile, "Vampires don't scare me, and  shifter's are only as smart as the animal they become."
