((You fail? Um, excuse me, but have you seen my posts? They're awful XD)) ((And no, I have no intention of being nice to any of my charries. o3o)) Krael laughed. "Well, whatever it was, that brother of yours sure managed to get his point across. Damien looks terrified." ((Derpfail.)) ~~~ Damien could actually feel his heart pounding in his chest. Had Seth just implied that Lana had been the one making boys disappear? No, he thought, don't be ridiculous. Seth is just being a good older brother. He just wants to make sure I'm, like, the right material or something. Who knows. All the same, Damien decided it would be best to avoid those two for a while. He went back to the river, once again doing his best to look as busy as possible. ~~~ Feeling bad for Damien, Svali stood up. She started speaking in the most commanding voice she could muster. "So," she said, addressing the group, "we've found water. Shouldn't we try to get food as well? We're going to need shelter at some point too. So... we should work on that," she ended awkwardly.

((Nyeeeh. I'm so lost with the new Res. xDD))
Lana smirked at Seth, winking at Damien in an evil way. She pulled her knife, walking toward Damien, and quickly passed by him without hesitating. She went to the river instead, gripping her knife, considering the rocks in the river. She knelt, picking one up. Furrowing her eyebrows together, she noticed that Damien seemed a little pale. She grinned to herself, thinking that Damien thought that Seth had made that boy "disappear." How wrong he was. Seth would never hurt a fly, much less make someone disappear. His sense of justice was too strong. Lana however, was the perfect criminal. But it's not like anybody had to know...
Finally, rooting through the pebbles near and in the river, she found a suitable rock. Gripping her knife, she realized it might not hold up to the thing that she wanted to do with the rock. Pursing her lips, she approached Seth, whisking past Damien again.
"Do you have a knife?" She asked quietly. Seth motioned to Krael, and she wandered over to him. "You have Seth's knife?" She asked curiously, her eyes unblinking.

((Lol. At least your HA is properly clothed. I can't even figure out how to give mine hair Dx))
Krael nodded once, remembering the whole fiasco about finding water with Seth. "Yeah, he... lent it to me. Why, do you need to borrow it?" He asked.
Without waiting for a response, Krael held the knife out, hilt first, to Lana. He wondered what she could possibly need it for, considering she was already holding a knife, but he decided against asking.

((Nuu. D; I just couldn't find the thread. I forgot to subscribe. o3o))
Lana took the knife, her eyes showing no emotion. She strongly grasped the large knife, and carried it over to where the rock was. Narrowing her eyes, she took the rock and scraped the knife against it, making a terrible screeching noise. Gritting her teeth, Lana stalked away, as far away from the group as possible, going as fast as possible so that the sound was sudden and disappeared quicker than scraping along the rock slowly. Luckily, the sides of the rock were thinner and more gritty and easily breakable, but when you reached the center, it was thick and strong and nearly unbreakable. She continued to sharpen the rock into a point, tossing the not-as-sharp knife to the ground and inspecting her handiwork.

((I... really don't know what to post. D:))
Curious, Krael followed Lana. After a few moments of staring at the little pile of rubble, he piped up.
"Okay. I'm just going to come right out and say this. What the hell are you doing?" He stared, baffled at the sharpened rock in her hands. "Is that like... a spear or something? It looks deadly, whatever it is."
As he spoke, Krael thought back to all those survival shows he used to watch. Out of all of them, he couldn't remember anyone making stone daggers, especially not when they already had two knives.

"I'm making arrows," Lana said pleasantly. She held up the stone arrowhead. "I'm sure we can find sturdy wooden sticks somewhere that are of decent size for arrows. I saw some before, but didn't think to pick them up. There are quite a few on the other side." She motioned to the other side of the river. "A bow would make fighting from a distance a lot easier. I could shoot down any one of you before you could get to me." She chuckled dryly, glancing at Krael. "Besides, I took archery lessons, so a bow would be more suited to my abilities, don't you think? I have had no practice with a knife except for peeling potatoes and fruit."
Lana stared at the stone for a few brief seconds and tilted her head, staring at the river. It was very slow-moving, so it should be very easy to cross. She didn't know how deep it was though. It was very clear though - which was odd since everything else was dusty - and she stared at the river, trying to see if she could see the bottom.

Krael stared at the pointed rock, comprehension lighting up his silvery eyes. However, it was quickly replaced by confusion again. "You make it sound like we're going to need to defend ourselves from something," he said, almost cautiously. "Do you know something I don't?"
Krael tried to imagine that somehow, another band of survivors had grouped together, just as they had. Why would Lana think that they were hostile, though?
"Is there something out there?" he asked, gesturing vaguely with a flick of his head to 'out there'.

"You never know," Lana pointed out mildly. "It's nice to be prepared. I assume that if we're survivors, wouldn't it make sense if there was someone else too? I doubt we're the only survivors. Humans are hardy creatures, my friend. They can adapt quite... easily," She glanced at the river again, crossing her arms. Her ankle was bothering her less, but she was still a little worried that if she slipped or something and hurt her ankle even more, she might drown if she couldn't get back up. But she didn't want to ask for help and be weak. She was about to step in, wondering about the temperate of the clear and glassy water.

(( .______. I'm so sorry. I thought I had posted on this.))
Krael stared at Lana. "But," he said, "wouldn't it be easier to just team up with the other people? If there are any, that is. I mean, there's power in numbers, and we don't exactly have numbers. What if they do? A few arrows wouldn't stand much of a chance against an army."
Krael glanced at the clear, smooth, fast-moving surface of the water. He noticed Lana was doing the same.
"I mean, I'm all for a good fight," he said, thinking back to all the fights he used to get into behind the school. Half of them were with boys he barely knew, over nothing.
"But," Krael continued, "Isn't it a little... extreme to make arrows? It's usually more effective to just talk things out."
Krael was more than a little surprised at what he was suggesting. I sound like my sister, he thought, disgusted with himself.
"Never mind," he said quietly. "I'm just being... I don't know. You go ahead and do your thing. I won't stop you." He looked at the girl cautiously before turning back towards at the group. He walked away without another word.

((I totally couldn't come on Res. D; I HATE YOU RL.))
Lana let out a grim laugh that was humorless. Talk things out? He suggested talking things out, and yet wars had raged nearly every day before the disaster. Talking wouldn't help. She knew that. Sighing, she knelt on the ground, ignoring her ankle, studying the glassy surface of the river.
---
Seth bounded jubilantly over to Damien, his eyes cheerful like a playful puppy's glowing eyes. "I'm bored," Seth commented childishly. His eyes literally twinkled. "We should do something instead of just sitting around." He smiled brightly and he suddenly seemed a lot like a dog, his messy but shiny hair, his playful, happy ex pression, and his overall personality.

((RL sucks. It's so... real ;o;))
Damien couldn't help but smile at Seth's apparent happiness. It was a nice change of pace, compared to travelling with Svali and Lana. Svali was a little boring for his taste and Lana was just the opposite- she was actually starting to scare him. Then again, Seth had proven just how scary he could be earlier, when he told Damien about the 'missing boy'.
"What did you have in mind?" he said to Seth. "I agree, we should probably do something. Problem is, I don't think there's really all that much to do around here."
He smiled somewhat apologetically to the other boy. He's so much different from his sister. He thought. I can't believe they're actually related.

Seth danced around eagerly. "I really don't know." He blinked, a confused appearance on his face. His eyebrows furrowed together, and he blinked again. "Well, I suppose we could try crossing the river to see what's on the other side," He motioned toward the river. Sighing, he glanced at Damien. "I still feel really bad about the missing boy, you know. I wonder what Lana did to him..." He aimed a rather disapproving glance at his sister and returned his attention to Damien, looking at him innocently.

((Did Lana murder him...? e_o)) ((I'mma warn you in advance. I'm tired, so my post is going to be... less than fantastic. That's nothing new, really, now that I think about it.))
"Sure," Damien said, not sure how else to respond. He was somewhat surprised to hear that Seth didn't know what happened to the boy. He decided it would be best not to comment, however, so he kept his mouth shut. I really don't even want to know what she did to him, he thought. Something gruesome, no doubt.
"So uh," he continued awkwardly, "How d'you wanna do this? I mean, should we set out alone or get everyone to tag along or...?"
At first, Damien had hoped Seth would want to go alone, so he could get away from the She Beast and the rest of them. After a moment of consideration, however, he realized how much that was what he didn't want to happen. Secretly, and though he barely wanted to admit it to himself, Damien wanted some more time with Lana. There was something... alluring, about her, and he desperately wanted to get to know her better.
"What'll it be?" Damien prompted somewhat impatiently, bouncing on the balls of his feet and suddenly itching to leave.
(("After a moment of consideration, however, he realized how much that was what he didn't want to happen." Oh wow. It'll be a miracle if you can decipher what that was supposed to mean. Sorry >.< Like I said, tired.))

((Nope... >:D Lana's alluring? xP More like a CRIMINAL.))
Seth shrugged amiably, glancing at his mysterious sister. He blinked at her when she turned her head to face him, her pretty, pixie-like face innocently beautiful when in reality, her personality was rather... murderous. He couldn't help but laugh at the oddness of that, and knew that Lana was only ever nice and sweet around him, when they were alone. She put on this nasty face around others because she never wanted to get close to anyone. Seth actually did know what had happened to the boy. It was a little bit of dark humor between him and Lana...

((Lol. I didn't know what else to write >.<))
"Uh," Damien said, trying to figure out a way to suggest everyone (or at least Lana) should come, and failing. He couldn't help but wonder why he was getting so worked up about this. Did it really matter? It was just one little expedition, who cared if Lana came or not?
I hate being apart from her, he realized, somewhat surprised. No sooner had he finished the thought did Krael came over, smiling wolfishly.
"You two planning something?" he asked, silver eyes glinting mischievously. Finding his sister had put him in a good mood... or at least, a good enough mood, considering it was Krael. He was almost back to his usual cocky self, except with the addition of a broken wrist. "It's just, you-" at this, he gestured to Damien- "look SO nervous, and you-" he pointed to Seth- "are grinning like an idiot. So I figure something must be up."
He paused a moment, looking back and forth between Damien and Seth. His smile faded for a moment as he saw the horrified ex pression on Damien's face. He dropped his voice as he said, in the most serious tone he could manage, "Did... did something happen? You look, I dunno, scared I guess."
"No, no, it's fine." Damien stammered, saying the words so quickly it came out like one big word. "We're just talking. About exploring. Seth and I wanted to go see what was on the other side of the river. You uh, you could probably come if you wanted. That is, if Seth doesn't mind." He said, looking expectantly to the other boy.
Krael grinned again. "Yeah," he said calmly. "I wouldn't mind that. That is," he added, only half jokingly as he echoed Damien's words, "If Seth doesn't mind."
He chuckled to himself as though he had just said something hilarious, before he too turned to look at Seth. "What'll it be, Aussie boy?" he said. "Will ya let me join you on your... your whatever this is, or what?"

"Oh, Seth is always an idiot." Lana remarked, striding up and forgetting her possible expedition over the river. She punched him lightly on the arm, her eyes glittering. Seth made a face and glanced at Krael. "I dunno what we're gonna do. Just explore, I suppose. We might as well all go." Shrugging, he inclined his head toward Svali and Lana. Lana of course would tag along. She would hate to be separated from Seth after only just finding each other again.
(OMG I fail so hard. D;))
