Erin blinked as Jace started walking, and stook a few running steps to catch up. She tried to match her stride with his longer one, and all in all, she thought she kept up fairly well. She kept her eyes and ears alert, looking around her from the corners of her eyes silently, and listening intently. She didn't notice Jace glance at her and smile; she was focused on trying to detect anything in the foggy darkness.
She felt, admittedly, much safer now that she had Jace with her. It was good not to be alone, especially in the depths of night, where she might have been attacked at any moment. She smiled to herself.
A gust of chill wind threw her hair back, and she instinctively ducked her slightly head so that it would fall back in place and cover the bruises that covered some of the left side of her face, which were rapidly becoming more prominent against her pale skin. She bit her lip and glanced away, not saying anything about it. Maybe Jace hadn't noticed.
She heard rustling and flinched, drawing closer to Jace, though it was only a cat. Seeing the animal made her relax; if Josh had been anywhere near, the cat would probably have already fled. She trusted that animal senses were keener than her own.
A sign gradually became clearer ahead, and Erin stopped short. "That's my street." She said quietly, glancing up at him with piercing blue eyes, which held a noticeably less scared look. "Thanks for walking me home."

Charlotte raised a shaky hand, unable to speak, and pointed directly at Josh. Josh snarled, revealing bloody canines. ____________ Jace nodded, considering asking her about her bruises, but finally decided against it. She'd probably get all defensive and offended, and think he's a creep. Stiffling a sigh, he glanced down at her, still biting on his lip gently. "You're welcome," he said quietly. "I'll see you around...I guess." Her eyes didn't seem as panicked and frightened as earlier, which silenced his worries about her. He nodded quickly again and started to walk away, nearly pausing in his walking when he was overcome with the need to turn around and ask her about the bruises. But he didn't; he kept walking.

(( 'kay, I'll just make Angel wake up. )) Angel awoke from her sleep, she got her clothes on, and hurried out the door. It was still dark, but she could see.Angel hurried down the deserted side walk, seeing nothing but road. She heard footsteps, step step step. She hurried, then noticed her arm was bleeding stronger than it ever had.

Charlotte pinched her eyes shut and reminded herself that the wolf was the danger, not the bear. Josh snarled, lunging at Derek with a watering mouth. His jaws locked around his front right leg, and he shook his head from side to side, enjoying the feel of flesh tearing and blood pooling in his mouth. His stomach grumbled. ___________ Jace peered into the darkness, hugging his jacket tighter to his body in an effort to warm himself up. He let his silver eyes wander the dark street as he walked, somewhat enjoying the peace of mind the silence was giving him. Finally his eyes adjusted on a figure, about a hundred feet away from him, who looked strangly familiar. He quickened his pace, and narrowed his eyes in an effort to figure out who it was. And then he knew it was Angel. "Ella?!" he called quietly, his pace turning to a brisk jog towards her.

Derek snarled, pipping himself free after great difficulty, and clamping his jaws over Josh's spine. He tightned his jaw and wished for a snap!.

Erin watched Jace walk off, and smiled softly. She was relieved he hadn't asked her about the bruises; she didn't want pity from anyone about her situation. She turned around towards her house, and froze, her smile disappearing in an instant.
"What an insolent ex
pression." Her brother said coldly, his tall, dark figure foreboding. Erin gulped, staying silent for a moment.
Then, she spoke. "I got lost." She said, ignoring his comment. She was staring at the floor, not meeting his eyes. "It must have been the fog." She started walking towards her brother, who stood beside their house. She raised her head just as she reached him, and for a moment, his gaze caught hers.
In an instant she found herself tumbling backwards as her brother backhanded her sharply. She gasped as she heard her neck make a snapping sound, and felt the breath knocked out of her when her back slammed against the hard pavement. Her head followed closely, and blood burst into her mouth. She blinked rapidly, trying to focus her vision, and stumbled to her feet, gritting her teeth against the new pain on her head and back; her pretty face was stained with fresh dark bruises and marks. Blood leaked from her mouth, and she glared at her feet, not daring to look up again.
She could almost feel him smile before he turned and closed the door behind him. She stood there, numb, for a few moments before following. When she tried to turn the knob, however, she found that the door would not open.
Of course. Erin thought defeatedly. Without a sound she curled up on the side of the house, holding her knees close for warmth. It took a while, but she finally fell asleep, blood slowly dripping onto her arms.

Josh yelped and snarled, thrashing back and forth in an attempt to get away from Derek. He clawed at the bear's face, nails digging deep scratches in his cheek. He howled again, raking his claws across Derek's muzzle. Charlotte screamed, tears streaming down her face as she stumbled backwards to avoid being stepped on.

Jace skidded to a halt beside her, breathing heavy and harsh. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end and his hands started to get clammy when a sharp, salty tang hit him. ...Blood? He glanced at Angel, and narrowed his silver eyes accusingly. "What do you have behind your back?"

Angel shivered violently. " Urrrgh... Uh... Nothing.." she whispered. Her arm stopped bleeding, but the blood was still there.

Jace shook his hair out, creating a silvery white veil in front of his eyes. He scowled at her. "Then why do you sound guilty?" he asked, a small smile tugging at the edge of his lips. "I won't be mad; just tell me."
