Angel rubbed her eyes, and went outside, getting some air. She opened her eyes and saw a black man, and two more. She could make out the words on their black shirts:

Slave Catchers

Angel froze, the men stared at her,then they smiled.

They ran after her, catching her. Angel screamed, but she was already tied up.

Charlotte teased, "Well, I'll have to pencil you in..." She rolled her eyes. "Now is fine."

Jace heard a scream, dumped his cereal in the sink and scrabbled outside. All the while he pulled his jacket on and stuffed a pocketknife in his jean pocket. He tripped over his own feet putting on his shoes, and then scrambled out the door in a mess of pale skin, fabric and silver hair.

He straightened just as he saw the men tying up Angel. He sucked in a deep breath and jogged up to them, eyes a hard storm gray. "Let her go," he spat, grabbing the arm of one of the men's t-shirt. "Now."

"Charlotte." He chuckled.

Charlotte raised one eyebrow. "Derek."

{ Well... I'm pissed off now. :/ }

Charlotte stood up and fixed her shirt where it had been tugged from the edge of her jeans. "How're we getting there?" she asked, running a hand through her hair. She stopped and smirked at him.

Charlotte grinned. "What kind of car do you have?" she asked, starting to walk away. She paused and waited for him. "My sister and I both split our money; we bought a ford mustang GT convertable. Ruby red." She sighed and glanced back at him. She explained sheepishly, "I have a thing for cars."

"Wow." He blinked. "Mom bought me the same, but not ruby red, and I don;t think it's convertable. I usually don;t use it, I walk but.. for now." He smiled.

Charlotte grinned, and took his hand without thinking twice about it. "I usually walk. But Sarah likes to drive." She rolled her eyes.

Charlotte grinned. "Sick," she said, glancing out the dashboard. She didn't bother to put on her seatbelt; she never did, and probably never would.
