Jace tripped and fell flat on his face, groaning as he sat up straight. He blinked up at Angel through his now-cracked glas ses and frowned, turning beet red in imbaras sment. "Sorry," he mumbled, trying to adjust his glas ses. He bit his lip.

Sarah stiffled a giggle, and watched Jace and Angel with slight interest. But jealousy pricked her stomach. Why is it that everybody found a guy for them and she didn't?

Charlotte sighed, and couldn't help but feel disappointed as the lights started to turn on slowly. She detangled herself from him rather ungracefully.

Josh stood up rather quickly, glancing at Erin with a shy but cautious look. "I have to go," he said quietly, then dashed out of the theater.

"I gotta go," Sarah said rather sharply with a sour tone, storming out of the theater without a glance behind her. Her stomach tied itself in knots.

Jace stared at his feet shyly, not sure what to say. "M-My name's Jace. Who are you?" She added with a blush, "I mean, What's your name?" He locked eyes with her for a second, then dragged his eyes back to his feet.

Charlotte stood up and brushed herself off, blushing and looking a little rubbed-the-wrong-way. "Umm.." she smiled shyly at him. "I was leaving...?" She arched one eyebrow at him.

Charlotte smiled and took his hand quietly, causing her heart to wig out. But it was a good feeling.

Josh stopped and spun on his heel gracefully, facing Erin. The chilly air whipped through his black hair, causing it to stand on end on the back of his neck, and shivers rolled up and down his spine. 

Fingers a little numb, he shoved his hands in his pockets and looked at his shoes with guarded eyes. "Yes?" he asked, biting down on his lip slightly. It was now dark out, and the shadows seemed to call to him almost seductively. He glanced up at her through his bangs, indigo eyes unwavering.

Charlotte walked with Derek, a smile plastered on her face. He seems nice, she thought to herself. He'd make a great best friend.

Josh stayed silent for a moment, seeming to think about what answer to give her. Her cold blue eyes held his, something not many people could do without saying something rude or hurtful. A shiver ran through him like he'd set his hand on a live wire.

He said in a clear, quiet voice, "Check the newspapers in the morning. My story will probably make front cover." Then he spun around again, graceful as a lion, and started to sprint towards his house.

His father would probably beat him, again, for jumping out his window.

Dereck smiled back at her. "Happy?" He asked hertaking her hand in his.

Josh bunched his muscles, and then leaped, catching the edge of the windowsill with one hand. He hauled himself into the open window, gasping for breath as his lungs started to feel like they were on fire, and then sprawled out on the floor in relief. Then his father walked in and started to scream at him in a slurred voice.

As he stood up to say something to him, his father hit him hard across the face, his blow catching his right cheekbone. It sent a flash of pain through his head and neck as he toppled backwards and stared at his father.

In the hand that had struck him he was holding a broken beer bottle. It's jagged ends glinted dangerously in the dim lighting, and part of it seemed to be drenched in a red liquid.

Raising his hand to his cheek, Josh felt something warm and wet slide between his fingers, causing his stomach to grumble. He was...bleeding? 

Adranaline pumped through his veins like fire as he lunged at his father, avoiding the beer bottle, and shoved him out of his room. He pressed his entire weight against the door, struggling to lock it up while his father pounded on it harshly. 

Then he ran to the window, starting to lock it up too, before he caught sight of something hanging like a bright, huge glowing orb in the sky.

The full moon.
