Panicking, Diamonds tried frantically to get a grib on the slick ice with her claws. The edge of the cliff was drawing nearer but it seemed like it was all happening in slow motion. The sled was losing speed, but the ice balcony they were on was cracking menacingly. Diamonds looked back as she still half heartedly tried to dig her claws into the ice & saw the crack spreading across towards them. "Oh damn, you guys, we have to bail" she called, wiggling frantically, trying to free herself from her harness. "Just get free, it's every dog for himself now, the ice is breaking" she yelped, yanking herself free & clawing her way to solid ground.

Danger gnawed at her beaten, weak harness and broke free quickly, Parker somehow managed to get out and save his designer harness from the cliff. Danger ran as fast as she could and took cover in a snow mound and Parker just stood and watched the sled fall from afar

"Them bloody wankers" Diamonds growled, watching the rest of their team mates epically fail trying to save themselves. "Now how are we supposed to win" she snarled, knocking a rock off the cliff. She paced around & looked back the way they came. "I don't even know how to get out of here" she went on, pacing in circles. "& LOOK" she yelled, picking up her diamond collar. "They broke my tag, now we'll never get home".

"Well yes, it does help..." she admitted. "But we have to find civilisation & get somebody to read it & take us home" she said. "Can you get it back on?" she asked, taking it from him & holding it out for him to walk into it.

"Get out here, snow bunny" Diamonds barked at Danger. "Do you want to get home or not? If we can't get home, let's at least finish this race. I do not lose. No one in my family has ever lost a singl-" she stopped & shook the loose snow off her back. "Let's just go" she said again, trotting along the edge of the ice path.

Danger sprung out of the snow pile "RIGHT-O LADS" she trotted along side them and Parker looked at Diamonds and smiled a studly smile

Sam growled. "Stupid, blooming ice!" He complained as he nearly fell on a patch of ice. "I jus' wanna get to civilization! Be civil, ya' know? I mean, I love being a sled dog, but this is ridiculous!"

Diamonds stopped short & looked back at her remaining team mates. "Which way do we go?" she asked, looking back to the horizon. "The finish can't be far off"......."& I think we should go for it" she went on, puffing her chest out again & narrowing her eyes against the setting sun.

Parker followed Diamonds "I believe we should go" he pointed "East" while Danger went back and tried to cheer up Simon as she always tries to do "whats a matter, luv?" (You mind her having a crush on him? she's the type to have a crush on the quiet ones XD )

Sam smiled, his tongue lolling. "That's you, Diamonds," He barked. "Always eyes for the prize- or more like it, the finish! Not like anybody else isn't like that..." He growled. "Okay, so the sun is over there, so it should be nearly nighttime." He then heard a yawn from Simon. "Sorry that your nervous*, but we're in here to win, not sleep like those lazy poodles who live to be pampered." He wrinkled his nose. ((If you didn't know, dogs yawn when they're nervous.))

"Of course, Sam. We were bred to race. We live to race & race to live. Great. Then let's go win this this thing" she said in a determined growl. *insert loud orchestral music as shot of character standing on cliff edge gets farther away while the wind blows around her* :c
xD Diamonds padded up the ice trail back to the main clearing. She took one step into the snow, bared her teeth at the ground & continued walking.

"You know him, right? The top Lead Dog since Booker? He thinks I don't try hard enough." Simon squeezed his eyes shut. "But I do, I do.... I guess trying hard isn't good enough.."

"AUGH we're never going to make it at this pace, pick it up, you guys" she howled, taking off as fast as she could, zoning out everything around her & focusing on what was ahead. Not directly ahead, but at the finish line. Her chest heaved in & out heavily as she pushed on through the thick snow & she remembered her father's words to her when she was a pup. "Winning isn't everything that matters, it's the only thing that matters." She laughed a little at those words & slowed her pace. She had never thought about how silly that sounds until she really thought about it. Maybe winning wasn't everything.

Parker looked over his shoulder and before he knew it, WHAM he was hit with an enormous paw and launched across the snow. A bear, a bear had whacked him. Danger noticed and stopped in her tracks "QUICK, HIDE GUYS!!" She yelped and hopped into another snow mound
