Shrug was concidering hitting the cymbol hard so she did. The noise gave her a fright and made her jump

Jasper quickly put his hand on the symbol to stop it from vibrating and making sound "It depends on how are you hit it." he said "The harder the hit ,the more vibration which leads to more sound.".
