"Anything," Wolfpaw vowed, jumping up and down in excitement. "Anything you want. What's my gift?" 

The she-fox stood up, towering over the small tom as she said in a ghastly voice, "Wolfpaw, you shall give me your ability to love, in return for shadows." 

Wolfpaw yowled, and tried to run, but the she-wolf stopped him. She chanted, 

"Love after and before,

with it's keen sting,

you shall never see forever more

Your heart be filled with holes,

Shadows shall replace your doubt, 

and darkness fill your soul."

Wolfpaw p*censored*ed out, and the she-wolf nudged him out of her den. Her yellow, broken teeth glinted with pleasure, and he rmilky eyes narrowed blindly. "Young tomcats these days," she rasped, leaving him alone in the dark with a wheezy gasp.
