"Oh." Violetta said, feeling stupid. She opened her mouth to ask why she kept hissing at Pierenous, but when she was told not to, Violetta shut it again, looking up at Iliad curiously. "I have decided to forgive you for killing animals." She said stoutly.
"But that means you cannot kill animals anymore around me. And if I see you killing animals, I will hurt you." Violetta proclaimed, holding up a hand, trying to make it seem threatening, but to no avail. |

Midnight slithered down Lily's arm and raised her head up close to Violetta and flicked her tongue with a tilt of her head. Lily laughed quietly and whispered to Midnight,"Your going to scare her."

Iliad covered his mouth to muffle his laughter, tilting his head slightly. "Well, I have to eat sometime. I don't control when I get hungry," he replied, then blinked as a phoenix fluttered over and settled on his shoulder, lifting a hand to run his fingers over its feathers just before a strange inumimi walked up, red-pink eyes apologetic. "Sorry...um...he kind of flew off..."
Iliad cocked his head, looking curious until a small bark turned his attention to a small marbled fox in the inumimi's arms. He reached out ot gently rub behind one of his ears, smiling slightly. Foxes were so cute and fuzzy. |

Violetta glared at him, crossing her arms and opening her mouth to say something, but shutting it as soon as the phoenix came over. "Woah." She said, reaching up to stroke it. "It's so pretty.' Violetta's eyes were wide with awe, her reverie almost cute. Suddenly, a bark snapped her out of it, the source a fox.
"Aww, a fox! It's so cyutee." Violetta commented, smiling at it brightly. |

Lilly, the little fox, barked again, crawling forward with his tail waving happily. Her dark brown eyes focused onto the other beings curiously, her head tilting slightly as Lunai's tail waved in amusement. "She likes it when people pay attention to her. She just adores the spotlight," he said with a soft laugh, ears perking up. "I'm Lunai, by the way, and as you can see I'm an inumimi," he said, introducing himself.

OOC: Only reason why I hadn't been posting was because I kind of had to log off. It was around midnight when I made my last post and I was shattered x3
Pierenous eyed the cobra. "Midnight," he murmured. "Perhaps it's my ears that offend her." He winked at the reptile before giving both of them a tremendous, provocative twitch. The cobra hissed again, and the satyr grinned. "I'd stroke you but I have a feeling you'd bite then."
He cast his face around the group as they introduced themselves. Violetta was the withdrawn one who seemed afraid of Midnight. Lunai was the inumimi - the heck was that? - carrying the pampered-looking fox (which seemed undisturbed with Pierenous' appearance). Pierenous was about to throw his name into the mix, too, but then reconsidered - they could have his name if they asked for it. It depended, really, whether they'd notice he'd never said it at all, which seemed obvious thanks to all the flashy animals flying and bouncing and squeezing into every spare space in the room. He glanced at the phoenix, at first thinking it was just a glorious breed of parrot, then realizing his mistake. Phoenixes were supposed to be rare, weren't they? Only one to exist at a time? Perhaps this wasn't a phoenix, then. After all, why and how would a teenager, in a school, come into possession of such a creature? He wasn't jealous, though. What better way to attract the wrong kind of attention than display your rare pets about the place like trophies?
"I just have a fat cat somewhere," Pierenous said calmly. "I don't even know if it's here. I hope it isn't. Well actually, I think I do. It eats everything but it's kind of good company. That's another thing that's unusual about this school - we're permitted animals." He gave a chuckle, leaning his head back as far as he could in a stretch. "That's just asking for trouble."

Violetta looked at Pierenous excitedly. "You have a cat too?" She said, eyes bright with interest. "What's his name? Mine's name is Sparkles. He's the cutest thing in the world." Violetta said proudly, her hands on her hips.
"Is he up in your dorm? I want to see him. I'll come visit you, if you'd like." Violetta suggested, a sunshiny smile on her face. |

The satyr raised his eyebrows, intrigued by her sudden thrill. So, she liked cats. "Yes, I am in possession of such a mammal," Pierenous said silkily, angling his head sideways to look up at her. He ignored the demand for the cat's name (OOC: aha, not got one yet xD). "And yes, you can certainly visit me, once I've settled in. In fact, I should be up there now, unpacking." The satyr leaned forward, and gave a tired, brisk grunt. Damn, he needed to catch up on sleep. All the hectic disorganization from the night before wasn't paying off yet... He glanced at the clock on the wall - 4:37 pm. Yeah, it was probably time to start settling in. He'd assumed a suitcase had been packed for him, let alone a pet-carrier for the furry consumer of everything edible he would label a 'cat'. The satyr stood.
"On second thoughts, come with me, guys, if you like. It will probably take me a few hours just to find... Room 667. Of course, it's your choice." He looked at Violetta. "And then you could show me... Sparkles, sometime." Pierenous couldn't help it, but saying that word made him feel quite ridiculous.

Lunai noticed the satyr's odd look towards the phoenix and he grinned sheepishly. "Ah, well, you see, I have the power to make artwork come to life...I can't control it very well sometimes, though. I was looking at a wonderful picture of a phoenix, and the phoenix...kind of flew off," he explained, ears pulling back slightly. "And I haven't quite figured out how to fix it yet...." he murmured in an embarrassed fashion.
Iliad moved his arm to allow the phoenix to move to it, stroking its feathers once he could reach it better. "Curious birds, phoenixes. If only one exists and a time and they are reborn from their ashes, then isn't there only a single phoenix that is the same phoenix we see in all of the artwork?" he murmured.

Pierenous scrutinized the phoenix and its... giver-of-life with a new, marvelled interest. "You can bring artwork to life?" he repeated, astounded. "What a gift, however uncontrollable. Beauty is often accidental." Tentatively, he reached out, as if afraid his touch would offend the bird. When nothing happened he set his palm down, lightly, on its back. Birds were always wonderful to touch - so smooth were the feathers, he could hardly feel them; a constant la
yer and not several sets of feathers overlapping one another. A kind of velvetiness, but not at all like moleskin. Not too warm either, like fur. He stroked it several times with an admiring, yet calm, ex
pression.
"The appearance of the phoenix varies with the culture it was portrayed by," Pierenous explained gently. "If you compared the Egyptian phoenix to the oriental, there are significant differences, even though it is almost always described as vibrant, stunning. In fact there are notable differences between the Chinese and the Japanese versions, if you look closely enough. One phoenix exists, but I would imagine it is so rarely seen, it's near-impossible to create an exact, adamant recreation of the bird. No source is truly reliable because only a few pairs of eyes have been fortunate enough to cast themselves upon it, upon the real thing." He smiled, then faced Iliad. "It's like saying you've seen an elephant. Tall, dull-skinned, large-eared with a long nose and two giant teeth sloping out of its mouth. Tell that to hundreds of artists from different countries. Who's going to make the most accurate drawing or painting or sculpture of the thing, based on that deion alone?"

Lunai's cheeks flushed slightly at the compliment, moving to rub the back of his neck in a rather sheepish manner. "Oh..um...thank you, I suppose," he murmured before he got a small idea and knelt down to let Lilly wander about, keeping a watchful eye on her as he flipped through his sketchbook for a specific piece. When he'd found what he was looking for, he set it face-up on the ground and rested his fingertips against the paper, concentrating deeply for a bit before a very small roar sounded and a tiny, cobra-sized Asiatic dragon flew off of the paper to curl around his neck, much like the girl's cobra, Midnight, was around her neck.
He reached up to stroke the dragon's scales, smiling slightly. "I try to be very careful with what I do bring to life....but like I said....I'm not too great at controlling it yet..."
((Asiatic dragons are purdy. ^o^ And very interesting too. c:)) |

Lily looked at all the comosion (Sorry can't remember how to spell that.) around her and thought about who's names she didn't catch. She looked again at Pierenous,"What was your name again?",she asked as Midnight turned her head to look at the Asiatic dragon around Lunai's neck.
