"It's fine." Capricorn said, although he knew it wasn't. But he really couldn't get mad at her. "No we just have to escape, is all." He mused.
He scanned the room. It was as large as he remembered, but it was painted a sickly green color, replacing the hideous floral wallpaper of years past. It wasn't much of a step up. There were cages scattered around the room, some larger than others. He shared the largest one with Aurora. This satisfied Capricorn, because it meant they had similar species, though he was likely taller and more muscular.
The other hybrids gawked at him. They'd never seen him before. All of the other hybrids of his time were either dead from the poor condition they were kept in, or ran away like he did. These new hybrids were much brighter colors, and were smaller. They lacked a certain rustic appeal, but were very flashy. As he scanned the room, he observed the expressions of the others. Some were surpised by his presence, others were scared, a few may have been happy he joined them, but plenty were also jealous of his physique. It seemed ridiculous to him that they were, with their flashy designs.
What more was unusual was the structure of their cage. The cage wasn't of flimsy chickenwire like the others'. Replacing the wire was a thick, bullet-proof plastic. This was likely due to the fact that both he and Aurora had escaped before, and they wanted to take extra security measures. Another oddity of the cage was how the covering wasn't there. It wasn't short enough for him to climb over, but he could see over it. The cage had a door that latched from the outside, so that visitors could actually come into the m*censored*ive cage. He looked in horror at the brushes and feed bags that were inside the enormous cage, which took up over half of the entire laboratory. He knew where they were. Apparently, the authorities figured Capricorn and Aurora were too gentle to hurt people, due to Capricorn's pacifist nature. Since Aurora was similar in structure to Capricorn, they must have figured they were of the same species, and the entire hybrid group was of pacifists. He then looked at his wings, to his horror and dismay. His wings were clipped so her couldn't break free of the prison. He wondered if Aurora's were, too.
"Aurora... look at my wings." He sighed. "We are in a petting zoo."
