Charlotte looked at him for a minute, eyes fathomless and confused. She cleared it almost immediately. She started thinking about how much she'd messed up in life. If her mom was alive, she'd want Charlotte to get married to Bade. But Charlotte wasn't so sure about marriage; it sounded hard, and scary.

"Um," Bade looked down at Charlotte, his eyes widening a little bit. "is something wrong, Charlotte?" He himself knew that he'd screwed up his life pretty badly, but he'd thought that besides the point where Charlotte had slept with Stephen and ended up here, she'd probably done pretty well in her life. Now she'd done even worse damage to her life by getting so involved with Bade, and now she had a baby to take care of. Great.

Charlotte nearly jumped out of his arms, taken by surprise when he spoke. "I'm fine!" she squeaked. She chuckled weakly. "Just thinking. I'm fine..."She glanced at James, who seemed to be lost in his own little world. Concern overwhelmed her. "...Bade. Do you think something's wrong with James?"

Bade blinked at James, head cocked. "I...don't think so." he said quietly. Then his quiet voice turned to a more worried tone: "Why, do you think something's wrong with him? Is there something wrong with him?" He set Charlotte down with no particular reason to.

Charlotte shook her head, but couldn't shake her concern. "I dunno. I'm just worried." She chewed her lip as she started to walk. "Your bi-polar, and all the mischief I got into when I was pregnant with him...and the weird food..." She blinked, chuckling lightly. "Forget it. I'm just worrying over nothing."

Bade sighed, then rolled his eyes, smiling a little. "You're worrying that he might be a little messed up, just like we are." He hugged Charlotte lightly, kissing her cheek. "I hope he isn't," he murmured in her ear.

"Me too," Charlotte muttered back, feeling her cheeks grow hot when he kissed her. All she did was grip James a little tighter though. Her eyes were on the approaching cabins.

Bade took Charlotte's hand, squeezing it lightly before leading her inside the cabin. No one else seemed to be inside, but Bade had a feeling someone would come back soon, as if the cabin had been left empty for a while.

Charlotte squeezed his hand back, causing her heart to sutter. She smiled up at him, glad for his warmth and comfort.

Charlotte shrugged, pulling off her soak converse and flopping onto the bed next to him. She smirked, setting James on the bed between them.

Charlotte chuckled. "You carried me almost all the way home? That had to take a lot of energy." She didn't lay back, but decided to stay sitting and think some things through. James made a gurgling sound and tried to crawl up next to Bade. His eyes were wide and adventurous.

Bade set his hand on top of James's head and tried to muss his hair, but only succeeded in shaking James's head a little. "Not really. That's not the reason I'm tired, though," Bade mumbled, staring at James solemnly.

James grabbed Bade's finger, and stared at it wide wide, curious eyes. He gurgled again. Charlotte smirked. "Why are you tired then?" she asked, staring at the ceiling. Her mind wandered around in random, pointless directions.

"I'm tired of life, honestly," Bade said, sighing and gently pulling his finger out of James's grasp. "I think I might've told you that before, but I don't mean I hate life. Charlotte blinked, astounded at how that seemed like her own thoughts. "Like you want to start over, because you've completely screwed up your life. So badly, you can't turn back..." She drifted off, and continued to stare at the ceiling. James' lip quivered, and he whimered quietly, stretching out his little chubby hands. He wanted to grab Bade's finger again, and possibly chew on it. He didn't know; he just thought it was cool.

I think that chewing on fingers is cool. >:U Got a problem? ) Bade nodded, then held out his hand again, basically offering it to James. "Yes, but no. I just mean that life's kicked the fu.ck out of me. That's that, really. But, I do wish I could start over... Though," He looked up at Charlotte, murmuring, "I probably wouldn't have met you if I changed my life."

Charlotte chewed her lip carefully. "Well, if I changed my life the way I wanted to..." She blinked, narrowing her eyes in consentration. "I wouldn't have met Stephen, or you, I never would have had James, and my parents would still be alive." She sighed. "But I guess I shouldn't complain; some people have worse lives than I do." James bit down on his finger, gurgling again, and started to gnaw on it like a dog would gnaw on a toy bone. He was teething. His feet stuck straight up in the air, and his hair was ruffled and messy. Well, what little hair he had, anyways.
