Bade greeted him with a nod, then said softly, "Don't be loud, 'kay? She's sleeping. Soundly, at that." He returned to stroking Charlotte's hair, and Russell sighed, walking over to Bade's bed and sitting down. "Why do you like her so much?" Russell asked sudddenly. Bade didn't answer for a moment. "'Cause I love her." Russell snorted. "Sure." "I mean it." Bade growled. "...Oh," Russell blinked. "Wow."
