Charlotte stood up and moved away from the edge of the cliff. She sat back down against a rock covered in moss, and she drifted into sleep. The best sleep she'd gotten since she found out she was pregnant. The first time.

Russell smacked Bade across the face. "Go after her! Be worried! Be normal!" he shouted. Bade flinched, but then only shook his head. "I can't -- not yet. I have to leave her alone." Russell groaned. "You don't care about that!" "I do," Bade said. "Because she might hate me if I don't."

Is she gonna be burned alive...? ) "Go get her, dammit!" was the last thing Russell said before shoving Bade outside the cabin and locking the doors. "Damn," Bade started walking, not sure of where to go. "I've got to train Russell to be more like a dog."

( o3o ) Bade wandered around, not sure of where he was going. By the time he was close to the cliff, he had already gone through half a pack of cigarettes. If he retraced his steps, he would've found a cigarette butt every thirty yards or something. Eventually, he was making his way up the cliff. He didn't expect Charlotte to be there, and he nearly fell right off the cliff when he saw her there. Recovering from the shock, Bade swallowed, leaning down and picking James up. He sat down at the edge, looking down at the water below.
