((i'll wait for Wolfie to reply since Raun is tending to Vanna and I wouldn't mind. We'll see and maybe they will. hehee, I mean, Raun is a loving person elf or not, but he doesn't fall for seduction. That;s his only downfall because women who try to attract him, he just stares at them like they grew two heads. XD))

Zawynaias smiled when he felt his collar being placed back onto his neck, sighing at how loose it was. It felt good for it to not be fitted so tight around his neck like his sister's was. He listened to his master speak, not saying much, seeing as his master didn't give him much time to interject, and followed him to Shiki's quarters.
Wyn was surprised to see his sister sitting on the bed with several wounds on her face, and two tears on her cheeks. He frowned, and walked over to his twin, who was being examined by his master.
Vanna didn't say anything, fearing that it wouldn't make any sense due to the tears on her cheeks. Also, she simply wasn't one to speak unless she had something wise or smart-ellic to say. She shook her head at the mention of cleaning it, and spotted her brother, her eyes resting on his equally silver ones.
"Vanna..." Wyn moved forward, and wrapped his arms around his twin, and Vanna allowed herself to fall into the embrace, the shock of being hit just now hitting her. She bit the inside of her cheek, and allowed several more tears to come down her cheeks, being absorbed into her brother's shirt.

Raun looked at her and sighed. "I'll leave you to fix her up. Please feel free to use anything you need. Take her to my room if you with Wyn. And please loosen her collar. It's disgustingly tight and it bothers me." He gave them both a sympathetic look and a soft smile. He turned to the door and walked out before he headed down the hall to the meeting room. He wiped her blood on a handkerchief before he tucked it away so it was unseen. He pulled on his sleeve and straightened his jacket before he placed his hand on the knob to the meeting room. "Brother, I'm coming in." ------------------
He turned the knob and opened the door, stepping in almost quietly except for the click of his small heels. "Ah! You're here already. I'm sorry for not being here earlier, Sir." He bowed deeply before he walked over to the chair that was just left of his brother and pulled out the chair and before he sat down, he noticed the slave. "Ah! Madame, you're here as well. I'm sorry for not seeing you there." He gave her a small smile before his brother grabbed his arm and pulled him closer.
Shiki whispered harshly, "She is a slave brother, why are you calling her madame of all things?"
"I don't care about that, Gods. You act like it's a crime to be nice to another human being and yes I already know she is an elf. Gods you're so dimwitted sometime." He sighed and rubbed his temples before he sat down, crossing his legs a little and sat quietly.
"Now, Master Raul, I believe that we have come here to discuss my uncle's business. I apologize that he could not be here to discuss this with us." He smiled nicely, which was something he had practiced so it came naturally.

Raul took in the scene without a stir of emotion on his face. But when facing the brother he gave a genuinely warm smile. He liked it when people were respectful to Namir. He would have to thank the man sometime. Secretly he wondered how favorable to slaves this man was...
Namir was surprised the brother even acknowledged her, but his smile was not fake and the tone warm. 'Ah so the brothers are not aligned in the business deep down... tricky tricky... but it could work to our advantage.' She stuck with a small polite smile and bowing slightly from where she was sitting. It was remarkable how alike the brothers were yet so different. Their eyes different from night to day in an ironic sense but their builds matched evenly. She wondered what it would be like to set them in a duel against each other... But her sharp sight caught differences most humans would not notice. Shiki was more strict and guarded with his movements; you could see the stress marks beginning to form in his handsome face. Too bad it was twisted beneath it... Raun seemed the more honest of the two, and he did not recoil from her presence if burned by the sight of her. She sighed inwardly, she would think most humans handsome if not for the stupidity of the majority. But she would not judge Raun yet, for actions proved the most out of any person. Raul linked his fingers on the table and put a simple interested look on his face. "Now I am a master of many things, and one is keeping safe of any item or cargo i choose to. I have never lost a caravan to bandits, rebels, and every one has arrived on schedule other than in severe weather cases. I have the loyalty of many men which have an array of expertise. I even run half of the Kings trade during the high season. I make a point of meeting all new clients myself, for no one is a better judge of honest character than me." He smiled a little more steely this time. "I work with people who respect me therefore I respect what they own." He knew these well raised men would get the hint. If they used his services they had better not go behind his back, under pay, or cause any mischief of any sort that may affect his reputation or business. He had let slip quite a few truths to the right ears and it spread quickly that those who tried to double cross him have very little left to their name in the end. It helped keep men from sliming their way into his life in hopes of easy money or services... "So I've heard you've had some trouble with bandits on your caravans and some of the men you have worked with before. What I'd like to know what are you shipping, servicing, and where might you be going?" He would offer these men very simple services until he knew they were honest. His more... illegal and dangerous jobs were quite exclusive... Namir kept a close eye on the men. She was surprised Raun did not keep a personal servant by his side. Maybe he did not favor elves as much as she thought. There were others like her within the high class, and their "masters" always made sure what they knew, their elven counterpart knew... (( I hope thats all okay, kinda just throwing in storyline, let me know if you'd want to change it. lol ))

Shiki looked at Raul and nodded at the mention of the stolen cargo, the issues he was having and all the rot. "Yes, it seems that the men we hired weren't as reliable as we first thought. We worked with many of them for years but they simply couldn't keep their hands off my uncle's merchandise. I really have no clue what those thieves would want with a bunch of vases and elves and other things that my uncle ships.." He sighed and placed his index finger on his forehead. "Yes, the caravans have not been arriving lately and some of Uncle's customers are getting.... testy... I've had to take care of a few myself which is never really any fun.. for them of course.."
Shiki stood up and walked around the table toward another bench that was on the opposite side that Namir was sitting on. He opened the top and pulled out a few papers and then a large, what looked like, a photo album. "These are what he;s shipping mostly." He put the book down and flipped open the pages. "He ships the priceless porcelain from a maker in another little country, elves that have been bought by him from the slave trade, animals, mainly for the food and meet, and some other priceless stuff he never let me sketch out for him to be added to here. Now, what we need is somebody who can get these things out of here and over the desert and mountains. There is a country over there that we have started business with and it would be best to get these there. It's a caravan of about ten or so. Depending on how much is being taken out."
Raun watched his brother and when he flipped the pages to those of the elf slaves, he winced. God how he hated the way they were chained and treated by people. He stood up as he continued to flip through the pages and walked to the wall, near Namir. He shuddered as he thought about the elves. His voice was soft when he spoke, "Oh dear me... I'lve left Wyn alone in the house... Who knows if my aunt will tighten that wretched collar on his neck.." He shook his head. "She'd choke the poor man..." He looked over at Namir and smiled.
"I hope you don't mind me talking to you. I don't know if Master Raul will allow it, but I find if fine to talk with your people. They're quite smart and actually very amusing." He gave her a warm smiled. "May I ask if you work with Master Raul and whatever job he is doing? I've never seen an elf dressed as you are, so I was curious as to whether or not he lets you lift a finger." He tried not to sound too straightforward, but he couldn't really help it. She was actually very beautiful and it seemed like she hadn't needed to lift a finger although her kind were worked to the bone.
((it's fine. I had no clue what I was going to do with the whole thing. ^.^; Anyways, I hope i got down Namir's look right... When i was reading she seemed very well manicured and such..))

Vanna allowed her brother to tend to her wound, his pale elven hands working quickly as he disenfected the wound and allowed his silver eyes to look into his sister's now and then, full of pity. "I'm sorry he did that to you, Sylvanna. Don't provoke him, and I don't think he will do anything too bad," he said, running his thumb over the wounds on her cheeks.
"You do not understand, Zawynaias. Do you remember that song that Nanai sang to us as children? I live for that song. I want to be like that bluebird, wild and free, not chained and controlled." She tugged at the ruby-studded leather collar around her neck, which had been loosened by Raun a few minutes ago.
She soon found herself in her brother's embrace, and, as he whispered something in her ear, her eyes widened with what looked to be hope, and excitement. "Sylvanna, just wait a bit longer. I promise we'll be free soon. The rebellion is getting stronger and stronger, and more and more influential humans are joining their forces every day." He kissed his sister's cheek in a brotherly way, and then released her.
"We should go down to the seating room, where the meeting is being held. I think that Raun would enjoy our company. Shiki might not, though. But he can't lash out at you simply because of going into a room." He rubbed his sister's back gently, and stood.
The two walked in silence to the seating room, going down several flights of stairs and a few twisting corridors. Luckily for both of them, they didn't run into Raun and Shiki's aunt or uncle. In a matter of mere minutes, they arrived in the room.
Sylvanna took her spot near Shiki, eyeing up the newcomers. She didn't really want to stand by her master, but she also didn't want to anger him by standing by Raun. She was almost sure that that would send him into a fiery fit. The thought made her lightly smirk, though she wiped the smug grin off of her face when she remembered what had happened the last time she smirked around Shiki.
Zawynaias kept his silver eyes respectively ahead, appearing to be a bit more formal than his sister, whose eyes were resting on the other man, and occasionally travelling to the well-dressed elf that seemed to be his companion. Wyn just hoped that neither Raun or Shiki would be angered by their decision to join them in the seating room.

Raul frowned drawing the book towards him, very carefully leafing through the booklet. He did this for a minute or so, looking closely at route maps, items, and names of the men currently working. His face did not display one emotion until he sat back and rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I have never worked with the country you are trading with but I am always looking for new routes and ways to expand my business. I can assure you every person I work with must get all their assigned cargo there and back. I take the most valuable items myself but those trips are limited. If you have especially valuable items I would gladly take them if you give me enough advance notice..."
He flipped a few more pages. "I can guarantee anything lost will be insured by my own men, the last interpersonal thievery I had among men was 4 years ago, I believe he starved to death somewhere after... somehow losing the use of his hands and getting "lost" in the woods..." His eyes glinted coldly and met Shiki dead on, "I take every act against me personally Master Shiki so you can be assured you cargo will always arrive safely. You may know my cargo trains are not heavily manned but they are all specially trained. If you want a horde of men guarding your wagons of goods I do not suggest my services. But more hands means more chance of thievery from the men you hire.." Raun disliked shipping slaves but he would rather do it than anyone else. All slaves were told at the beginning of each trip (most of the time in secret) that they were to be treated well as long as they behaved and they were not their enemies. They would be treated with respect but if they caused trouble or tried to flee Raul or his men would be force to take negative action... "I am not cheap Sir but I am one of the very best in this business, and intend to stay that way for a very long time." He dipped his head in acknowledgement. Namir hid her surprise at the words of Raun. She held her hand daintily to her lips, looking up at him through her eyelashes. "Master Raun you flatter my humble kind. My Master does not mind me conversing with his peers as long as it is appropriate." She giggled slightly. 'God he won't even know who I am out of this getup. if he ever sees me. I sound like a fool.' She glanced at Raul who was ignoring them completely, the two gentlemen caught up in business. She faced him directly, putting on a sincere look of interest. This man may be kind but she had no idea where his allegiance truly lied. Blood was much thicker than water in this country, and few turned on their own families for another species. "I am Master Raul's personal servant, I do anything he requires." She bat her eyes a few times. Most of the things he required this man would probably never even think of, she was not Raul's lover in any way which was what most thought... more of his right hand man. She did the things that if he was caught doing, he would be hanged and it would be a tragic loss for the rebellion. She did her duties so that if she was caught, he could go on... But before she could continue a pair of elves walked timidly into the room and immediately Namir's eyes went to the girl's cheek. Ever so slightly her eyes narrowed, and for a half second looked sharply at Shiki traced with disgust. She kept her face tightly composed though. She hated people who abused their elves, she wondered if the girl was acting stupidly or the master was just cruel... probably some of both, the girl had that look in her eye. She sneezed lightly "Excuse me the dust from the road always irritates my nose." 'Sure if I was a pathetic whimp they do...' But the cough caught Raul's attention and he tapped his fingers on the table nonchalantly, signaling that she may do what she wished. "So," she returned her gaze to Raun, looking unexpectedly into his eyes. "Are these two your personal servants of you and your brother?"

Shiki ignored Vanna when she walked in and continued to listen to Raul. "I never liked the big hoard of people, but my uncle insisted that I get as many people as he could get because he wanted the cargo delivered safely. But as you can see, he never listened to me." He huffed slightly and looked over at Namir, which he could see didn't like the scratch on Vanna's face. "Anyways, I would be glad to have you guard the caravans, I don't want a large amount of people guarding. It'd be nice to have things actually reach the destination." He sighed and looked at Raul. "Now, let's see, I would like your assistance."
Shiki smiled slightly and looked at the slaves who had just walked in, which he could already see his brother's glare. He ignored it and looked at Raul. "So, would you like to work with my uncle and his business. He pays a generous amount." He smiled.
Raun looked at Vanna and ran over, gently putting his hands on her cheeks and moving her head right to left, inspecting the wounds. "okay, you seem to be okay.. I'm glad you're okay now." He smiled and walked back to Namir, which he had rudely ran away from to tend to the elf. "I apologize for that, Madame. Anyways, that's good to hear that you help him out and that's probably something that people don't appreciate about your people." he sighed and looked at Wyn. "I'm glad you could come Wyn and I'm even more glad that my aunt didn't get her hands on your collar." He ran his finger on the material and his face hinted disgust.
"Yes, these are our elves. That is Vanna, Shiki's elf and this is Zawynaias, my elf. Which I hardly like. I seriously do disapprove of this collar and the things my aunt and uncle press him into doing." He looked at Wyn and smiled gently then turned to Namir, the smile still on his face. "Anyway, I'm glad he came to me, but I wish both had been mine." He shook his head slightly, feeling bad once more about not demanding Vanna and Wyn be his elves.

Zawynaias watched carefully as his sister wiped the smirk off of her face as Raun approached her. Sylvanna cleared her throat and allowed Raun to manipulate her head, looking her wounds over. She allowed a single word to whisper out of her mouth, though she doubed anyone heard it. "Thankyou," she said as she watched Raun divert his attention from her wounds to her brother.
Zawynaias nodded politely when his master spoke to him, and kept his head straight ahead, only looking to his master or into the blank space right in front of his nose. He did his best to follow what ettiquet he had been tought when he was young. Elves don't look humans in the eye unless they're their master, unless they're addressed directly. Elves don't speak unless they're spoken to.
Sylvanna let her silver eyes shift back to Raun when he said her name- well, her nickname, at least. She didn't like people calling her by her full name in public, unless it was her brother. When her name disappeared from her ears, she looked back to the female elf, and to her master, who seemed to be proposing something to the twins, or maybe it was the other way around. Either way, Vanna didn't know what they were talking about. She had been much too caught up in sniffing out exactly what was fishy here.
Ever since the small female elf was a child, she had an uncanny ability to sniff out lies and social facades. Where she got the ability from, nobody knew. They guessed it was just a knack, and Zawynaias believed that it was just her observant tendencies that allowed her to do so. She knew that something was up with both the female elf and her master, but she didn't know what. Even with her knack, and strange observations, she couldn't tell.
When Zawynaias heard himself being introduced, he did a graceful, quick bow and returned to his straight standing position afterwards, brushing a few strands of his red hair out of his eyes. He let his eyes drift over to his sister for a moment, and saw that she was staring again. He just hoped that she wouldn't get caught by Shiki.

((Sorry rushed post my power might go out rainstorm XD ))
Raul smiled and flipped the book closed. "Of course I would like to work with men, I like when I find honest clients and therefore do my best to do onto others what is done onto me. Now when will your next caravan be arriving?" He leaned abck in his chair and brought out a small notebook from beneath his coat and a pen. He always made sure to take notes when in meetings. He started jotting down a couple of things expectantly waiting for an answer. "And also I'll need a list of what the cargo is, destination, delivery date an so forth sent directly to me. If you have it now that would be useful and make my job easier on getting men prepared." Namir thought this man too open about his liking for slaves. He would be one of the few hunted down quickly when the rebellion erupted if he was known to love slaves so much. She dropped her eyes in a submissive gesture. "Collars aren't so bad sometimes, as they protect you from those who would steal him. The finer the collar the safer it is for him to travel and do your bidding outside your watch... And Master Raul only uses me for trivial things.. I am not so important." 'Yeah right...' She paused as if realizing something. She gestured to Vanna, "May your younger elf take me to a powder room suited for your elven slaves? I will just be gone a moment and would feel much to imposed to take you away from the meeting..." She smiled at him and then clearly looked at Vanna, who she wanted to speak to in private very much...

Shiki looked at his brother. Too open you idiot.. Really... He looked back at Raul and nodded. "Um.. let's see... It should be arriving tomorrow afternoon. My uncle left to get the caravan himself from just outside this country, but he should be there now and on his way back." He nodded, thinking that he was about right, give or take a few hours. "As to what it is, not even I know. He won't tell me what it is, but Im going to have to guess it's more slaves and more priceless porcelain that is to be taken. That is only a guess because of what country the goods come from. As to where it's going.." He pulled a map out from the chest the book was in and rolled out the parchment. He pointed to a larger country just to the west of theirs. "Here. Kiui. They are a rich country with many people who want slaves and the good things in life, but it happens that the biggest exporter of what they want is across our country, so my uncle takes caravans to them."
Raun looked at Namir. "Oh um, yes.. Vanna, take her to the powder room.. Any of them will do, obviously except Shiki's." He sighed and leaned on the wall, not really wanting to be in the room anymore. He couldn't put his finger on it, but Namir seemed out of the ordinary, but maybe not necessarily in a good way. He tried to shrug it off, but the way she presented herself and the way she seemed to take in everything including Vanna's wounds was odd.
Calm down Raun.. You're just a little stressed from things that have been going on. Your past is catching up and you get paranoid, but you need to calm down before people pick up in it and start to question you. He heaved a heavy sigh and looked at Wyn. "Accompany me outside please. I don't wish to be here or out there alone.." He nodded to his brother and Raul. "I am excusing myself, I apologize." He walked to the door and pulled it open, leaving the room.

Vanna hid her frown as she was told to take the man's female elf to the powder room. She moved forward to the blonde-haired elf, not knowing that the hair color was due to a wig, and curtsied. "Follow me, Madame," she said, her silver eyes searching Namir's face for anything strange.
With that, Sylvanna turned away from the other elf gracefully and began to walk in the direction of the nearest powder room, which was down the southern hallway a bit.
Zawynaias did not ob ject to his master's orders. He bowed at the guest, and prayed that his sister didn't screw something up in the powder room. His red hair waved in the wind as he exited the mansion, coming out of the large house shortly after his master had exited. "Are you alright, master?" He asked Raun, his head slightly tilted to the side. "Do you need some water?"
Sylvanna arrived at the powder room in a matter of a few seconds, and she opened the door for Namir, waiting for the other elf to go in ahead of her, all the while her ex pression neutral. Her silver eyes didn't leave Namir, though, as she was searching for something. what exactly she was searching for, though, Vanna herself didn't know. She just knew that the knack was telling her to look for something.

(( Ruru you'd better keep up with the dying land RP :P Guiven likes long posts haha )) Raul studied the map closely, making notes with neat small markings. Actually anyone who read the notes would have any discernible idea what they meant. The code he had developed since he was a kid to keep his cousins from finding out anything personal about him and he still used it now, changing it every couple of months. It kept his business safe from those who would love to track him and steal his caravans.. and his clients. "Well," he said sitting back with a satisfied huff. "I think I can get men to take that safely. If you would like I can travel with the first caravan though I might anyways since it is a new area we are traveling to." This meeting went easier than he thought it would! Vanna arose from her seat, smiling widely at Raul. "Thank you Master Raul." Her eyes locked on to Vanna who opened the door of the room, and she swept out through the door like a swan gliding through water, luscious skirts trailing on the carpet. The power room was neatly and nicely furnished as the rest of the house. She kept her back to the girl until she heard the door click shut. Immediately she dropped the facade from her face, turning around. Her sultry cute look was gone from her face, the cool ex pression looking out of place with the red lips and eyeliner. "Now..." Her voice had changed too, no more lilting breathy responses, her true voice was sharp just like her demeanor and she had learned to cut with words very well. Not that she was going to do that now, she needed to keep her voice low enough that no one outside the room could hear. "If you want to survive any sort of rebellion Vanna you will listen to me very closely. Right now you are heading for a very early death." She stopped waiting for those words to sink in. The girl wouldn't listen unless she chose to, and she wasn't going to waste her words on ears that were too stupid to listen. She didn't think this girl was stupid, just misinformed.

Sylvanna felt her lips tilt upward into a light smile. She saw the girl's facade drop like a shot bird. She noticed the girl's voice became much more dense and a tiny bit deeper, and that she no longer had a pleasant, stupid smile on her face but a neutral ex pression. She also noticed a change in Namir's demeanor.
When the female elf stopped speaking, Vanna still had the grin on her face, a twinkle in her silver eyes. She let three words drop from her mouth, her soprano voice low. "I knew it."
Then she decided that Namir probably wanted a response to the part where she told Vanna she would most likely die early if she kept up her act. She rolled her eyes and said, "If I die, at least I'll be free." She then shut her mouth, preparing for a hit or something from the female elf. Though Namir was an elf, Vanna knew that there was a possiblity of her being hit in the face for 'sassing' her, as some of her previous masters had called it.

Namir smiled slightly. "No actually the free elves are the ones who hide themselves the most skillfully. The only way you'll actually be able to be free is not having every finger pointing at you once things go bad little girl. Being dead because you were too obnoxious to keep your head level is not free, it is dying a slave." She turned away looking at the mirror adorning one wall of the room. "If you met many of the "leaders" of the secret rebellion you wouldn't even know it. They keep close to their "masters" because you keep your enemies trusting you sweetling. That way when you shove a knife in their spine they won't even realize it's you..."
She once again locked eyes with Vanna. "I am not trying to tell you what to do, I'm simply trying to keep you alive. Your brother is the smart one. Once fights start breaking between our species Shiki or his Uncle will kill you without a thought, because he knows you have a rebellious nature. Your brother will be assumed too frightful to flee or fight so he will be left alone and given a chance of freedom through his own actions." She adjusted her skirts. "Be as rebellious as you want and kill all the humans that would hurt you once you are free Vanna. Right now you need to see that you are in a position to make a very unlikable man trust you and one day, if you're smart, you can push him off whatever cliff you'd like." She raised an eyebrow. "Trust me death is not freedom." The girl wasn't that much younger than her but she was thinking the heart of the rebellion were some crazy warrior elfs causing secret havoc across the country. At the moment many of them were like her, no real "owners" but more friends keeping them in disguise. And some were considered actual slaves by humans but were too stupid to really see who their elves were. ' Oh well... their stupidity won't be a problem once their dead... One thing I like about war, it curbs the gene pool of those who are too thick-headed to change with the world.'
