I'm American. Am I fat and judgmental with a shotgun in a pickup truck? No. I hate NASCAR, which is another stereotype.
I dislike sterotypical people.
Because they judge based on a few individuals. It really bothers me.
For instance, I'm a Christian. Do I shove my religion own the throats of other people and hate on gays and transgendered individuals? No. I love everyone.
I'm also a teenaged girl in highschool. I don't wear short skirts or short shorts. I wear bluejeans and t-shirts every day, and I'm one of the few girls left who is waiting for marriage.
Don't judge based on stereotypes.
It's just one of the very few things that grates on my nerves. Never assume everyone is the same. And if the stereotypical attitude continues to be reflected in this role play, I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave. I very greatly dislike stereotypical attitudes.))
Will sat down and started to pluck out the melody before singing " I got troubled thoughts, and a sefl esteeme to match, what a catch what a catch. You'll never catch us. So just let me be said I'll be fine Till the hospital or American Embassy Miss Flack said I still want you back. Yeah, Miss Flack said I still want you back..." Will stopped playing to look around at Adelaide"That was the first verse..did you like it?" She asked.
Adelaide nodded. "Thats pretty good, but have you heard Battle of the Brag by the British Stones?" She took a place at the piano and played a hoppy tune. "Got me tossing stones at your window, throwing out the trashy gifts you give me. Don't torture me with all your richy richy lies and another one of your cow pies. We got the battle of the brag, you big old hag."
"very nice.. How abbout this" she said as she sat at the keyboard " They got car's as big as bars, they've got rivers of gold, But the wind goes right through you it's no place for the old, when you first took my hand on a cold christmas eve you promised me broadway was waiting for me" Her scottish accent made the song rig out loud and clear, it was a beautiful song afterall by The Pouges.
Adelaide smiled. "Very good. Have you heard this?" She switched to a different song, a bit more emo. "Today I threw away my pills, against the family doctor's wills. They said they would make me smile, but instead I feel nothing." It was Pills by Jen Wood. "Its my favorite of all time." Her british accent brought out the words strong and clear, and she brought herself into the words trying to feel every single emotion.
'Really good, I know a german one!!' she went up to the microphone eventhough it wanst even on and started to sing a dark and evil gothic one "Eckstine ecksine alles mus vistekt ine, Wieder lieg ich auf der Lauer, Denn wir spielen unser Spiel, Wieder wart ich an der Mauer, Wieder steh ich kurz vorm Ziel'' It was quite a good song and her accent made it sound gloomy but interesting.
Adelaide laughed. "I know a russian song. Its beautiful whether or not its english. Its called Alsou, or Winter." She walked over and took the mic. "Zvyezdy podnimayutsya vyshye. Svyet uzhye nye svodit s uma. Yesli ty myenya nye uslyshish. Znachit nastupila zima."
"That was beautful!!' she said as she clapped her hands. "Are you both singing at the prom??" she asked. Will shook her head. "Well you should be you have a beautful voice." Will blushed and said "Thankyou" "And so do you." the teacher said as she looked at Adelaide
When Adelaide heard the teacher, she stuttered. "A... Hubba... Gah..." Adelaide made a flying leap and ran down the hallway to the opposite side of school and sat on a bench, pulling an ipod out of her backpack and listened to Set Fire to the Rain by Adele to calm her nerves.
The teacher was shocked but asked Will to sing a song she sang"All around me are familiar faces Worn out places, worn out faces Bright and early for the daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses No ex pression, no ex pression Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take When people run in circles its a very, very Mad world, mad world"
The school day was minutes away from ending, and Adelaide stood by the door to wait. Her face was still red like a tomato, which looked weird with her blonde hair falling lightly around it. As soon as the bell rang, she ran outside and fumbled around her backpack for her car keys.
"Oops, I'm late!" Payton said. She scrambled to the computer lab to find no one there. "Ugh! Where are they?" She asked herself. She ran to the music room and found Mrs. Korelin. "Hi! I need to know who's singing at the Prom. I know I am, but who else?"
Adelaide figured out she forgot her keys in the music room. She sprinted to the music room, then crept to get her keys. She didn't notice Payton at all. But she did see Will. "Whether I sing at the prom or not, I still have a horrible voice. I'll turn into a tomato on any stage. With any luck I'll get out a word." Then she saw Payton. "Oh no I'm such a daftie! Hello school president." Her face was turning a bit purple now.
