Maksis hefted Diamond onto his right arm as he pushed open the door to the guest bedroom. Sunlight had filled the room, dappling the bed in a few select places. He squinted as the harsh light met his eyes. He shouldered Diamond and crossed the room. After fumbling against the silken material for a few moments, he finally managed to close the drapes. He laid Diamond to rest on the bed and quickly exited, not wanting to be there when she woke up. He had left the door open and the stench of blood was filling the hallways. He shut the door to the guest room, not wanting Diamond to wake up and attack Seth. He walked into Taylor's room and entered her bathroom, not being able to enter his room just yet.

He found a small bottle of Febreeze in the cabinet under her sink and began to spray the lavender-scent throughout the hallway. Once he was beginning to feel nauseous from the smell, he dropped the empty bottle on the ground and leaned against the wall next to his room.

Taylor grabbed the first aid kit and found some ACE bandages and some antibiotic ointment. She also pulled a couple of gauze pads out from the tin box and squirted the ointment onto them before lighty padding it onto Seth's wound. "Don't want it to get infected." She said. "And no problem. Don't feel bad about Maks. He doesn't want to hurt you," She said after seeing the guilt in her friends' eyes. "Should I wrap the bandages around the gauze pads or take the pads off first?" She asked.

 Hm...I don't know how to reply to Angel because she was kind of already in a house and stuff.O_O'))

"Leave them on." Seth said, managing not to flinch as Taylor touched her wound. She didn't have much of a chance to say more because a strong, sour smell reached her nose. She grimaced. "Maks, um, really likes Febreeze, doesn't he?" She remarked, turning her head enough that she could look out the door- which happened to be closed.

She sighed. "Yeah, but I'm pretty sure I'm the one hurting him. You've seen his ex
pression when he comes near me." Her voice was strained. 

Taylor sniffed the air and a sickly sweet smell of blood and lavender hit her nose. She scrunched up her nose in response and grimaced. "That's disgusting." She said, though she knew his intentions behind it. "I hope he didn't use the whole bottle." She muttered, though from the smell of it, he could have used two bottles.

Taylor left the gauze on and began to wrap the Ace bandages around Seth's wound. "Seth, you're not hurting him. You said so before that Maks is a vamp now. He just doesn't want to hurt you. It's not you hurting him, Seth." Taylor said while she finished patching up the wound. "At least the bleeding's stopped." She remarked. "As a doctor, I would strongly suggest you stay in bed after losing so much blood, but then again, I'm no doctor." She said.

Maksis glanced sideways at Seth as she came through the door. He pulled himself off of the wall and tried to keep his pace normal. It had made him anxious to be outside when he knew she was bleeding and hated himself for not being able to be there for her. He supposed she was stronger than she looked because after bleeding that much, there was no way she should be walking around.

When he had made his way toward her, he wrapped her in his arms with a small hug. He was gentle, barely touching her, for fear that he would hurt her. "I'm sorry I did this to you. This is all my fault. You should hate me with every fiber of your being." He said quietly before letting his head rest on her uninjured shoulder. "I can see the outlines of the veins in your neck and feel your pulse. Why would you take a bullet for a monster?" He asked.

Seth felt her heart kick up a notch, pulsing a bit more quickly than before, and she nodded quietly, her face pressed against his shoulder. "You're calling yourself a monster because you can feel my pulse? Funny, so can I. Guess that makes two of us." She grinned weakly. "Just because you're a vampire doesn't mean you're a monster, Maks." She was aware of his breath on her neck, and a slight chill ran up her spine. A moment later she was glad that he was holding her, for a sudden wave of dizziness made the floor lurch out of place. She wavered on her feet, and instinctively grabbed onto Maksis' shirt to steady herself.
"Sorry." She breathed, closing her eyes even after the wave had pa.ssed. "I know this is hard for you. But I didn't want..." She took a breath before continuing. Even talking was tiring at this point. "I didn't want anything to change just because you did."

Maksis smiled as Seth's pulse beat faster and found his own matching hers. The thought of Seth becoming a vampire scared him and he vowed to protect her. Seth and his sister were his first priorities and he realized that he could leave them. Now, he would be able to protect them from the othe blood-thirsty monsters in the world. "Thank you, Seth." He said, lifting his head up as she fell against him. He held onto her.

"Seth, you can't go home like this. Let's get you to Taylor's room to settle down, okay?" He asked. His face grew worried as he realized just how pale Seth was. "Staying here for a couple more hours won't kill you, but you going out in the streets all bloodied might." He said.

Maksis had grabbed for Seth's arm as she began to walk into the guest room, but he missed. He pulled the door shut, blocking Diamond from view. "You don't remember her? She's the one that shot you...I...turned her." He said and chewed on his lip, a habit he had gotten into even before becoming a vampire. "Maybe you should go home. I don't want you to be in danger if she wakes up and you're..." He trailed off, though gestured to her wounded side.

He realized then that he didn't want her to go. He would watch over her as she recovered if he had to. Taylor, too. He now realized that the world was filled with beasts in human form and he could not bear it if someone dear to him turned because he was not there to protect him. Having Diamond here was not going to help with that promise, but he was also partly responsible for this because he turned her.

"Please let me take you to Taylor's room. I'll protect you." He begged.

Maksis let out a small breath of relief before slipped his arm onto Seth's lower back. She could lean into him if she had to. He tried to ignore the enticing scent of her blood that pulsed rapidly under the bandages. The Febreeze was still in the air, having nowhere to escape to, but it could not fully mask the scent of the sweet blood. He shivered involuntarily at the thought of drinking Seth's blood again and was thoroughly disgusted in himself for thinking such a thought. He shook his head, chasing away the thoughts.

"Come on." He said, leading her toward Taylor's room.
