Maksis sat down on the bed and was grateful that the drapes were shut, blocking out the light. On his way in, he had flipped the switch and the artificial light and Taylor's fan had sprung to life. 

"I already did my homework, Seth." Taylor said as she walked into the room. She leaned against the wall next behind Maksis and the bed. "What you can do is rest and get better. Are you hungry or thirsty?" Taylor asked. She figured Seth would probably be starving because of all the blood she's lost and the energy her body is using to recreate the lost blood cells. That, and her body has to heal her wounds. "Just tell me what you'd like and I'll make it." She said.

The last thing he'd expected was for Crystal to start crying like that. Even though it should've been the most obvious thing in the world, that she was miserable and vulnerable and hurt, he hadn't thought the stubborn girl that he'd been dealing with would ever give into tears. He looked slightly surprised at first, even a little.. could that be.. sympathetic?

Christian offered up a soft smile, not at all mocking. "Right, of course you wouldn't.." It was as if he was commiserating with her, as if he'd finally remembered what it was like in some dimension other than 'awful'. He stepped back a few paces to sit down with his back to the wall, one elbow resting on his bent knee.

"Even if you hate me I'll keep you alive, even if you don't want that.. but I haven't even asked you your name. I've been going about this wrong," he said quietly, not making direct eye contact, his gaze trained on nothing in particular in the space directly in front of him. He knew he shouldn't have cared about this at all. He didn't know what had hit him, but he actually felt.. bad for her.

"GO AWAY!" Crystal yelled again, her voice still cracked.  If she had to get a little violent just to get him away, she wouldn't care.  She just wanted him away from her.  And for some weird reason she was debating whether or not to act like what she was.  No, not act like the pink haired girl she is, but act more like a monster.  Like, try to ignore the fact that she used to be a human and just pretend she's starting a new life, a whole new person.  And she'd have to try to change her stubborn attitude.

Her answer was no after those few seconds of debating.  She just couldn't start a new life, how could she do that if she didn't even have enough strength to get over the fact that she's different now?  And she didn't like the idea of having to kill humans, either.  And not to mention she's still starving, so the thought of humans doesn't make it any better.

Couldn't she just go and cook herself right now?  Why couldn't Christian let her?  If only he would just step aside (which she really doubted would happen) and let her go outside right now this would all end, and she'd just be a bunch of ashes.  Or have dissolved into thin air, who knows?  Sure, she knows how to kill vampires, but pretty much the only thing she doesn't know is what they become after being burned.

Taylor smiled at her friend and opened the door again. "Coming right up." She said as she closed the door and entered the hallway. She walked down the steps and ambled into the kitchen, catching her toe on the side of the wall. She slipped, but caught herself before falling. "Ugh. I'm exhausted." She muttered and found some coffee beans in the pantry. She also grabbed some toast and popped it into the toaster. When she turned the toaster on, she grabbed a plate and set some butter on the side. She dug around in the fridge for a few moments before finding a gl*censored* bottle of grape jam. She shrugged and pulled it out, setting it beside the butter.

When the coffee was done, she poured herself a gla$s. She added a few spoons of sugar and some cream before taking a sip. Artificial energy poured into her and her drowsiness was filled with a slight buzz. "That's better." She said, taking another sip.

Maksis sighed softly and flexed his fingers uncomfortably. "She hurt you Seth and it's my fault you're hurt. I bit her because I...I knew I needed to be strong. I needed to be able to protect you and Taylor. I was also a teeny bit angry with her and took back something she took from you." He explained and felt horrible about it. Reflecting back on his decision, he hated himself even more for turning that innocent girl into one of his kind. He slouched and shoved his face in his hands.

"Even though I've had my fill, I still yearn for your blood, Seth. I couldn't hurt you anymore back there, but temptation almost led me to it. I'm sorry." He said, pulling his head up again. He pulled away from her for fear of making her uncomfortable. His throat was beginning to ache from the smell of the blood under her bandage. It still puzzled him that her blood was sweeter and by far more delectable than Diamond's blood. He fell back against the bed, now laying on his back, and let out a sigh.

Diamond awoke, feeling odd.  But she wasn't stupid, she knew what had happened.  She was a vampire now.  The monster she had been hunting for years, the monster that she had always hated, the thing she had recently become.  Diamond usually never cried, actually, hadn't cried once since her childhood, and now she was on the verge of tears.  Tears of anger and sorrow.  To make matters worse, she was feeling a growing hunger.

"Never." She muttered, sounding rather angry.  "I promise I will never kill or feed off what I used to be.  I'll even burn myself to keep myself from doing such a thing." Yes, she was a merciless girl, but she only acted that way towards vampires, not to humans.  Yes, she broke a promise.  She said she would leave but she didn't, but the promise she had just made, the one where she would never kill a human, was true to her heart.  And she'd really burn herself to keep from killing, thats how true that promise was.

"I'm just as trapped as you," Christian replied quietly. Maybe it was a little too late in the game to try to be nice to her to get her to be cooperative. He might have screwed up everything beyond repair. For now at least. He could at least give winning her over a half decent try once she'd cooled off. But for now he was just going to deal with all of the trouble he'd gone and caused.

He sighed again, letting his eyes slide about half-way closed. He didn't figure he'd get a chance to sleep today. He would have to keep watch over the girl to make sure she didn't try hurling herself out into the sunlight. He couldn't be absolutely sure that she was still planning on doing that, but he could.. a.ssume pretty reasonably that she hadn't changed her mind. His hands gently clasped together, his fingers laced together. He didn't make a sound.

He tried to figure out how to fix things, but came up pretty blank. It would be naive to think that any sort of apology could make it up to this girl. He had destroyed the rest of her life- ended it really- and forced her to live out an eternity of a completely unwanted existence. It'd be worse torture than dying would have been.. Life as a parasite wasn't particularly easy to get used to.

Crystal just realized that he couldn't leave, the sun was out.  But her brain was mainly focused on her terrible new life to have realized that before saying it.  And she still didn't get why he wouldn't let her kill herself; after all, it would make his life much easier.  She continued to cry, now even rolling on the ground.  "Why'd you have to do this to me!?" She managed to cry out through all those tears; it's not easy to talk when you're all sad and weeping.  Well, actually she wasn't weeping.  She was crying much harder than that.

"WHY!?" She repeated, and clear anger could be seen on her face, even with all those tears.  He was the one who made her a monster, he was the one who is preventing her from killing herself, he is the reason why she crying right now; he was the reason for everything that has happened to her today, all that anger and crying was caused by him.

(( Fun, another full day of riding on a bus =__=;. ))

Christian hesitated, letting the cave walls echo with the sound of her sobs for a little while before finally piping up again. He would've loved some way to get her to calm down, but he had no idea. He wasn't even sure he should have been answering, but..

"Why what? I.. told you, I didn't mean to turn you. Or why won't I let you die?"
He guessed it was the second question, and he paused again, trying to put his answer into the correct words before he spoke. His tone was quiet, subdued- the complete opposite of Crystal's.
"Because being turned is.. no good reason to kill yourself. And since it's my fault you're like this, I should be the one who has to worry about keeping you alive. Besides, it'll be.. better for both of us."

Crystal managed to flash a glare at him, but was soon back to tears and crying.  "What do you mean!?" She asked, somewhere caught in the middle of crying and talking.
